I’m into my 5th year of van life and truly enjoy it! Where it seems folks become disillusioned is by trying to live in a van like they lived in a stick-n-brick. Of course that doesn’t work out! The life style is simple! Uncomplicated. Relaxed. Easy. Some find that boring. No exciting drama! 🎭 🙃 Great video! Thanks!!
My car was written off last month, the insurance paid put pretty quick, so I bought a little fiat doblo.. I call it Dobby. I am moving at the end of Feb beginning of March. You've inspired me
It sure beats being bored rattling around a static house, paying £££thousands a month for somewhere to sleep and eat! That is sanity???🙊 I just started "car life", saving a feckin fortune ££££s to spend on......... ME, my motorbike, regular hotel's whenever I want, wherever I want. My only regret? I didn't do it years ago.
Hi Rob, it is wonderful to see how much you have progressed in vanlife over the past 6 months. I believe the trick of getting over the fear / comfort zone and getting into van life it to just do it and give it at least 3 months trial after that most people will be hooked on vanlife. It is like one have been liberated from a slavery way of life where one is working to enrich the wealthy whilst we get poorer. if this were not true, life would be cheaper that anything else in life but instead cost of living just rises everyday and will continue rising. Van life is a way around that problem and what's more, people can make it as minimalistic or as luxurious as they want over time. Thanks for another great video m8 keep up the great work. God Bless
Love your perspective Rob. I sold my large campervan and bought a microcamper instead, love the van but turns out it’s a complete dog, illegally MOT’d etc. So it’s currently in the garage and I’m overseas for work doing a contract I didn’t want over Xmas just to pay for the repairs. Everyone thinks I’m mad but I’ve got a secret plan lol! I do own a property in the UK but I want to move home to Australia next year, my British husband is applying for his partner visa atm so I’ll have to go out first and get things ready for us. Rents are very high in Perth and I’ve realised that 6 weeks rent (approx $2700.00) is that same price as shipping out my van 😮So if I get it all fixed up I’ll know it’s reliable and I’ll just live in my van while looking around for where we might want to eventually settle. I really enjoy your videos, they give me a lot of inspiration, I think I’d be ok living in a van as I do it part time already, I just don’t want to waste money on rent. Cheers! 😊
Listen, mate, fair play to you. Hats off. You’ve cracked the code, haven’t you? Van life! Some people end up there because, well, life’s given them a bit of a slap round the chops, hasn’t it? Maybe they’ve been backed into a corner-limited options, bills piling up, can’t catch a break. Others, though, they’re proper mavericks, aren’t they? Selling the house, saying goodbye to the endless treadmill of rent and mortgages, all to chase that sweet, sweet financial freedom. I mean, who needs a three-bed semi when you’ve got a mobile palace with a kettle on a gas stove, eh? Now, me, I’m not in a bad spot. Got myself a decent job, got a mortgage-so I’m not exactly clutching the couch cushions for spare change. But I can’t lie, there’s something about van life that’s got me thinking. The freedom! The cash I’d save! Imagine it-extra money every month and the open road ahead. Only snag is... the leap of faith. That jump from bricks and mortar to wheels and insulation panels. It’s terrifying, isn’t it? And then there’s the kids every other weekend. Imagine trying to explain to them why their bedroom is now a fold-out futon next to Dad’s mini fridge. But I’ve thought about it, right? Maybe I book us into a static caravan for the weekends I’ve got them. Bit of a novelty, isn’t it? Beats the usual routine. Plus, even if I went full-on van life, I’d still be saving loads compared to what I’m paying now. I mean, I could pre-book those caravan weekends for the whole year and still come out ahead! Baby steps, though, eh? I reckon I’ll start small-get a van for a few weekend jaunts, see how it feels. Dip my toe in the water before I go full "King of the Road." Anyway, loving what you’re doing, mate. Keep it up, inspiring all us like-minded dreamers out here. Top stuff.
@@gazabaza7874 I really appreciate that comment mate. Enjoyed reading it. You are right . And as for the kids I was thinking the same. Get out of the norm. Not conforming. Great post 💪
@BikerVanLife Ah, cheers for that, mate! Glad you enjoyed it. Honestly, it’s nice to know I’m not the only one thinking along those lines. And yeah, the kids-exactly! Shake things up a bit, give them something to remember other than four walls and a Wi-Fi signal. There’s something satisfying about not conforming, isn’t there? Like, everyone else is slogging away, paying through the nose for the "norm," and you’re just out there, living life on your own terms. Proper maverick behavior. Appreciate the kind words, mate. Let’s keep questioning the script, eh?
Van life is what you make it. It's as hard or easy as you want it to be. Everybody has different circumstances. You've made it work for you. What you do might not work for somebody else.
I've been long time thinking about getting into vanlife together with my partner. And we're thinking about getting a small van, at least to begin with. I've been stuck in same place almost my entire life, with no chance to really explore and experience the world, and it's getting very overwhelming sometimes. I'd very much love to get into vanlife and see the world. Maybe one day. Thank you for this nice little video. Nice to see some positive sides of vanlife for a change. :) Have an awesome day!
Hey buddy, nice to see your video's. In my van since September 18th and still going, the last week has been FREEEEZZZING but i'm all good, toughening myself up. Like you say you get into a routine. Same as you break up and here we are.
My worry is of course that they're gonna start clamping down on everybody. I plan to get a van in May and move out by July. Its the only way I can safe for the future I want.
Sad but algorithms love negativity and clickbait titles, a lot of these "Van life!" channels are weekend campers who use UA-cam as a way to make extra cash nothing wrong, but it's all clickbait ways to get people to either see a glamours fake style or use negativity as a way to get clicks / comments etc, It's why I stick to the real people, living in vans through necessity and through need for financial freedom
@@BikerVanLife am still saving for a reliable van only want a small one like a caddy or a kangoo etc , cant wait to not be paying landlords pockets , its a simple life dont need much to be happy a good cuppa and a warm place to sleep
It’s because of people like that I find it hard to get my views up. I don’t use clickbait and because of that, people don’t trust my videos. I share my adventures of travelling the uk in my van showing people what I do and how beautiful the place is. Some people ruin it for others
The people you're referring to are not "vanlifers". They are youtubers who picked the vanlife niche because its easy content. Drive around, fabricate some drama, post. It's a shame all that crap ends up on recommended for people wanting real information.
I just found your channel so I'll have a look through later. I'm look into doing vanlife permanently but my issue is i don't work, i cannot work due to my health and haven't been able to for about 9 years now. How eazy would it be for someone on benefits as this is something i cannot get a definitive answer to?
