Laura, you make my day ... spraying/treating for bugs...entire plant falls out and you just pause a moment to find another home for it in the fountain. LOL Thanks for making us smile!
I have been missing your videos. I hope you are all going ok. I live in Australia and it is a great climate for succulents and I just LOVE your installations and helpful tips.......🌵🌵☀️☀️
Buy a cheap or used concrete birdbath, then a neat urn/pedestal that matches(I found an amazing one at Lowes) and add a concrete figurine to the top!! Voila!! A diy fountain for a fraction of the cost!
Thank you Laura for sharing this info about the bugs. I found Aphids in amongst some raised garden beds I put together. It actually gave me some reassurance to see you get these painful pests. I had to resort to a chemical spray as I over used the dish soap and burnt some plants, I also tried flour as I saw something on Google about this but nothing worked. I'm yet to check them since spraying chemical. Is was good to know after your video that I had researched and knew what they were. On another note received my 2 Runamucky shirts and LOVE them! Thanks Laura for all you awesome, funny, inspirational and knowledgeable posts! 😍❤🌵
Maybe the only good thing about living in Sweden.. I have never ever had one pest amongs my succulents. Roses on the other hand gets alot of god knows what. And We have alot of slugs. But they don’t mess with my succulents. They hide in them, but they don’t feast. Your fountain looks amazing btw.
Somehow your videos are always linked to something happening in my garden.. I have really really bad Aphids. Thank you Laura for your inspiration.. I just finished a 3rd section of my garden with succulents . Out with grass and in with succulents.. I keep looking for new "estate'. 😁H
We have been using this chemical to treat roaches around the house. Works pretty good, no smell and convenient. I have been wondering if it can treat plant infestation, but thought it must be too harsh. Then I saw you spray the succulents dripping wet. I screamed no!!!!😱 Just kidding! Good to know that there is an easy and readily available solution to lots of bug problems. Thank you for sharing. I now can feel more comfortable to move my elongated succulents outside.
I look at my plants right now and I see APHIDS! mostly on my Pachypodium, for some reason they really like that plant and they harbor in the top new growth area. It freaks me out to see these little orange and yellow winged bugs on my plants.
Other then the bugs that is looking good. Mine will be checked as i bring in next month my tenders are in and checked my fairy gardens/containers as i brought them in and wow thier time outside this growing season they grow like weeds
Rubbing alcohol, 409, and water is another great pesticide mix!! I forget the exact amounts for this recipe but I'm sure you can Google it!! I use Safari though (about 3X a year) and haven't had ANY bug problems since! It is expensive but you only need a teeny bit so if you have a friend who also has garden pests, buy some together or buy a small amount from someone. It is a systemic pesticide, meaning it takes effect from the root. It is the best I have used, but be careful not to spray it into the air, only the base of plant. (bees, good bugs, etc.)
This is a timely video! I live in so cal too. Lots of ants and other insects on my citrus trees. What do you recommend for your edibles? Also, would you recommend a preventative systemic on your agaves and aloes 1 time a year in the Fall?
Hi Sue! I’d recommend soapy water and or isopropyl for your food crops. I treat aloes and agaves with Bayer Tree and Shrub twice a year as a prophylactic.
I have some bugs on my succulents that look like baby maggots. Are these mealy bugs? And I have had some webs that I think are spider mites. I have been treating with alcohol and neem oil, because of my pets and beneficial bugs. But they just won't go away.
Unfortunately, yes. I use it very sparingly and only in isolated areas. This is why it’s so important to keep a close eye and nip in the bud. Often times, organic treatments can be effective, but not in the case of infestations.
I'm wondering if a few little white spots on two euphorbia plants -watch chain and crested monster - are bugs or drops of latex somehow seeping out of stem. Because the latex makes me very red and itchy I don't want to touch to try to squash it as some people do to mealy bugs. So the question is latex or mealy bug. any suggestion?
But if its too hot and you don’t mix it properly you might burn the succulents, and the leaves will turn black and fall off , so theres that. Lol just be careful

Made me chuckle! I just love her😂
When the overhanging plant fell and Laura just looked at it as if to say what did you do, it made me laugh.
Perfect timing. I have mealy bugs and aphids and was wonder what would Laura do.
I use alcohol on my bugs, use a Q-tip and spray too!
Always love your videos!
Loved the sound effects on the spray wand!!

I need an arrangement like that urn/fountain in my life. I’m living for that arrangement, minus the bugs.😊😊

That arrangement is fabulous! 💚
So good to see you tackle bugs! I have them always!

Thank you for this! Just found some mealys on my succulents... I’ll be getting that insect killer today!
Thank you for sharing. Good information for a beginner like me🤗🤗
Loving your vids! I see some copper spoons behind you. Can you do a video about these, please?
How long do you leave the pesticide on the succulents, great video Laura
Thanks for the info! A caterpillar attacked one of my cactuses...☹...I just cut off the portion on top but it's ok...
I have missed your videos my dear mentor!!! I know you are deserving of vacations and personal time but you need to know that you have been missed 🥰💕
Thanks!!
Laura, I liked the spray nozzle. It appears to be attachable to any insecticide packing.
Very helpful. Thanks
ARRANJO lindo Laura! cascatas de suculentas
Thank you for posting this! Those darn bugs came out of nowhere for me!!! 😡

Hi Laura, does the chemical you are spraying kill spiders, bees or any other good guys?
Unfortunately, yes.
I use it very sparingly and only in isolated areas.

Pretty plants but the shape of the top of the fountain makes me giggle even though I'm almost 40. Anyone else notice?
I love succulents. Wanna be friends

Observe closely before assuming, if you’re sensitive to sap, where protective gloves.
I kill all my plants bugs with my hands. All my plants are small and are in pots. I couldn't do it like that if I had a garden.
Do you spray in the morning or afternoon? Worried about rot. I have sprayed with rubbing alcohol before but I think it caused rot
Most important is to spray when there is no wind to spread the chemical into the air. Early morning works for me.
Could you add Japanese subtitles?
Laura, where the hell are u girl???
Spray them with rubbing alcohol. Problem solved
I dilute my Isopropyl with water 50/50 kills them instantly
But if its too hot and you don’t mix it properly you might burn the succulents, and the leaves will turn black and fall off , so theres that. Lol just be careful
