Meet the leak detectives

In the early hours of the morning, you'll find United Utilities engineers out on the streets armed with acoustic 'listening sticks' and hi-tech sensors.
These specialists wage a nightly war against underground pipe leaks, and in so doing, prevent thousands of litres of water from being wasted.
We caught up with leak detectives Scott and Pete on a cold night in Manchester city centre, as they took on a leak just off Deansgate.
