Pure gold. The last 20 minutes on 1.75 vs 2.5 hose should be required watching for every engine officer and trainer.

Great You Tube concept. Please continue this "interview" format with senior firefighters. Extremely good insights useful to "less busy" fire departments. Valuable, practical advice from an obviously seasoned firefighter. We look forward to more.Thank You Capt. Jenkins.

You two were the best things that ever happened to the 7... Every fire fighter that worked with ya'll respected you and were honored to serve our community under your command. Unfortunately, Gosselin ruined the entire Klein Fire Department under his command.

What an amazing interview. I love old timers that talk. I've learned more in my career from talking like this with guys that have a lot of time in than any other form of training bar none. Thanks for the post and Thanks Cap for your insight. You guys ever get up to Michigan hit me up. I can show you around the D.

So next Monday I'll be interviewing a 43 year HFD veteran firefighter. This firefighter has been at one of HFD's hottest stations his entire career. Imagine the things this firefighter has seen and done in 42 years. If you had the chance to ask this seasoned vet a few questions what would they be? Email me what questions you would ask at drhinojosacvfd@gmail.com or post them here.

When he started on the job it was discouraged by his bosses and his peers to wear the mask. so you are either completely stupid or you know nothing about how the fire service was in the late '70s and middle 80's go blame thesystem, not the captain, rookie.
