- As more vaccination centres open Sydney researchers are working to ease concerns about AstraZeneca by pinpointing risk factors and preventing blood clots. Their study getting underway as a nurse was sacked for using up leftover Pfizer vaccine instead of throwing it away.

Phizer added heart inflammation as one of the possible side effects. Last time I checked, it wasn't a norm for healthy individuals.

How safe is a strong immune system..?
Depends on what part, initially you need a good innate immune system, but later you also need that to be well regulated to avoid it over shooting in its response and harming your own tissues. A bit like asking if you are sending a Seal team or regular army, because the latter will do a lot of collateral damage.

Data out of Israel ( mind you one of the most vaccinated countries ) shows that Phizer vaccine in fully vaccinated is only 16% effective against trasmission of Delta variant. We are talking about those who got vaccinated in January. It has been less than 8 months people.
@@SD._ Transmission is not the point. The goal of vaccines is to reduce the severity of the disease and prevent death.
It is difficult to make vaccines that induce site-specific immunity for protection of the upper respiratory tract.

That is a public admission that even the genuine "experts" do not yet know how to even start on making a diagnostic tool or protocol to remove the AZ risk. You can be sure that it has a genetic or epigenetic link, and that it most certainly _is not random_ because that is the way for all health issues that affect some people but not most people. It is very unethical to dismiss the danger to that cohort of vulnerable people and it is grossly irresponsible that this has not been addressed properly before now. The truth is that they were using a statistical smoke screen to avoid dealing with reality, that most people have close to zero risk but that some people have a significant risk. They were discriminating against that vulnerable population by being so dismissive of the danger to them in particular. History will judge them harshly for this breach of medical ethics. Good luck to the team trying to solve this problem scientifically, I hope they gain a useful insight rapidly, before much more harm is done.
Protect your kids. Headline in the newspaper today stated that they want 'young males ' to be vaccinated in particular. Sounds sinister to me. As they want future defenders of this nation compromised.
@@SD._ The _qualified medical advice_ that I have been given is that children are not at risk from the virus if they are otherwise fit and healthy. Furthermore that the media claims that "the virus does not discriminate" are flat out lies. Those who are harmed are so for very specific reasons which are identifiable in the vast majority of cases. Why they can tell lies like they do at the ABC and get away with it, but other news outlets get punished is very troubling.

Canada discontinued use of AZ because of bloodclot risk. We had a few deaths and a few serious injuries. I hope the people of Australia get alternatives soon.
My brother is 20 years old and has a jab of the AZ vaccine. He's fine. It depends on your immune response. My grandmother is 80 years old and has a jab of the AZ vaccine. She is fine too.

Here in Indonesia we are finding the Delta strain is imune to some of the early vaxines eg Sinovac etc .
As the virus evolves amongst huge unvaxinated populations like here in Indonesia, Sth America,India n' some parts of Africa it is also evolving to be resistant to vaxines n' unfortunatly it could be that the human population must have a vaxine shot for the rest of their lives. 😔
Australia does not let Australians have a choice of vaccine, while other places like Hong Kong, give people a choice which one they prefer.

True, it's possible she opened a new vial to immunise family members. There is likely people available for vaccination that are not family members , if she offered it to others who refused first fair enough. Obviously don't waste the jab but it's not ok for health workers to put family members above others. It certainly doesn't look good.
After 30+ years she should know that you need to comply with the medical protocols. Seniority does not give you a free pass.
She just did what many nurses probably do but never got caught.
