Instead of single notes maybe each key could send a pattern of notes? Could play it like a sampler. Another thing could be 1 button as an octave button then the other 3 play 1, 4 and 5 notes in the scale

I think Mitxela might have you beat, but it's hard to compare. Actually i just looked it up, and his are all MIDI synths and not conrollers!
