- After three and a half years of ownership of a 1965 vintage Mooney aircraft, I have gained a good overview over the cost associated with maintaining and operaiting a single engine piston aircraft in Europe.
In this video, I'm showing you my detailed Excel records and explain how the aircraft was traken care of so far.

Great summary of costs. I’m in my first year of ownership. My first year summary will be sobering (and not shared within my house), but definitely worth it.

I operate a M20K 252 in Holland. I fly around 60 hrs a year and usualy at 30K a year total. Every year something expensive breaks. Mags, turbo, wastegate, prop overhaul, it’s never dull.

I’m currently doing a Mooney tank reseal. Unfortunately we don’t qualify for the bladder STC since we’re a B model

I have my 1988 M20J for one year now and I'm at roughly 26K euro (21% tax included). That's for 90 hours of flying, not including upgrades or reserve. Do your numbers include tax?
That's good. Yes, all my num ers include tax.
@@MikeVictorAviation What subscription do you have for your Garmin Avionics? I'm paying almost 400 euro for a 1 year subscription (central europe GNS530W)
@@jorisstruyve7182 I have no subscription. I download the latest NAV only once a year. When that DB get's older, I verify for the intended route of flight that all elements in the DB are still ok to use (e.g. approaches or waypoints).
@@MikeVictorAviation If that's a valid option to fly IFR I'll consider that. Saves me 300 euros/year. Thanks.
Good job mate... very informative... good to have a European owner's costs. I just wonder how much less it would cost to operate a non-complex tourer (PA28, C172)
I have Glasair RGII 4 owner my horly cost is about 165 euro/h a do some smal manutention and boroscope ispection ever year

Hi, Great and helpful video. I plan to buy Mooney M20. Where in Germany (Eastern if possible) you can do all maintenance of M20 series? Whare do you do your maintenance?
You have to find a shop that works for you. There are many with different qualities and prices. My maintenance is done by Ardex at EDBK.

Die Inspektions- und Verschleißkosten aus 2018 und 2019 hast du damals aber mit den 30k Kaufpreis sehr gut abgefedert.
Wo schaut man am besten nach gebrauchten Flugzeugen hier in Deutschland, speziell Mooneys, hast einen Tipp?

Ich habe regelmäßig bei aircraft24.de geschaut. Da läuft eigentlich viel europäisches. Ebay ist in EU nicht so gängig, wie in den USA ;-)

Muss mich dem audioproblem leider anschließen aber etwas ist komisch und ich hab keine ahnung wieso das so ist aber ich hab das video vor ca einem Jahr schonmal angeschaut und meine mich zu erinnern dass der Ton funktioniert hat und das war mit dem gleichen Gerät wie jetzt (hab nämlich ein screenshot von der Tabelle gemacht) und jetzt versteht man nichts mehr nur noch so als wenn das as audio kabel nicht richtig eingesteckt ist, echt komisch🤷♂️

The funny part is that mental picture of you viewing this on anything else but a computer like plugging the cable right into your ear or whatever you could come up with ^^
Cant hear a word tour saying, comms are not working
Try it on a Computer. The YT app on some mobile phones seems to have an issue.

what do you mean? This is normal cockpit audio recording quality.
@@MikeVictorAviation when watching on mobile, it was inaudible (for some reason?), but now that I am watching on pc it is fine.
