I got myself an American flag today, and it's hanging out of my bedroom window right now! You girls have not only been an inspiration in your homecountry, but all around the world. Not only an a sports level, but also on personal levels like going for what you want to go, wether that is in sports, work or on a personal level. Go for the win cuz we all know you girls deserve it!
For those of you who think Lloyd had a horrible tournament, you're wrong. She did play bad against France and i think she'd be the first to admit that. But as a center mid, people don't realize the WORK it takes. She dropped and covered for boxx many times, which followed by having to be the attacker as well. So she only scored one goal? And she missed her pk? In no way does that show the way she constantly worked on the field. She's the engine of the team as Hope said. I have so much respect f
Not the way to lose. We were the better team by far, but none of that mattered when it came to the PK's. At least the way we got there proved to show just as much excitement as if we won it. Excellent tournament girls!
i just hope that they keep making videos of them going through the olympics qualifiers... and everything else lol - even friendly games - i seriously don't wanna stop watching this team
GO GET THAT TROPHY GIRLS! I'm already up with my U.S Soccer jacket on, getting ready to head out to soon to be packed bar for this epic final. You've got a nation cheering you on! WE BELIEVE!
Japan outplayed the US when they needed to. Congrats to them. The US did not convert on numerous chances. The score should have been at least 3-0 at halftime. I though Megan Rapinoe was the best player for the US this WC. Followed by Wambach and Alex Morgan. In fact, the red card play at the end of extra time turned out to be big as Morgan was surely going to score the winning goal if the Japan player hadn't taken her out.
@liquid1122 Not exactly. It all depends if you have a good goalie or not. Body language is really important and so is the way you kick a ball. Most beginners are just going to aim high or kick it with all their might, while with experienced players they're going to know to kick it to the sides and not give away body language.
I'm still stuck on Julie Foudy's commentary during the game: something like "Japan has still been playing really patiently (not in a rush to try to change their temp to tie the score). Their patience does not seem to be working.".... And then BOOM, a shot on goal and a few moments later Japan gets it.... FUUUDGE! That was an epic jinx. USA fought hard. We should be proud and not beat ourselves over like the Gold Cup. Kudos to Japan and their fighting spirit.
Big heart to Japan for all they've been thru in the last 4 months, but we KNOW USA WILL WIN THIS WORLD CUP CHAMPIONSHIP TODAY! Thumbs up for #USWNT !!!!! @ussoccer_wnt on Twitter Chills from this video: it IS your DESTINY! I was there in 1999 in the U.S., and am with you all in spirit now! You GO grrrrls! ;)
@ItsDefOver9000 eh, you can't say that, even as a joke. Japan had the advantage of seeing the US take PKs before while the US has never seen Japan take Pks
@jasper2008ify That's questionable. There are players quite precise and others not so much; Maradona had an average 88,24% of realization on PK. Some players can decide in the last millisecond where to place the ball, watching the movement of the gk, others are icy cold, others get emotional and miss the shot and so on (sorry for my bad english)
obviously they didnt work on their PKs enough....lol Rapinoe's my fav girl on this team though, thats my shawtty rite there....lol Anyway, congrats to Japan!
@liquid1122 .... No. Just no. I'm sorry, but it's a lot more than just kicking it. There's pressure, the goalies reading you, and you have to strike it properly.
PKs don't take any skill, not really. Just think about the fact that any regular person has as much chance of making a PK as a pro soccer player who's been training since a kid. It's a whole situation of luck & chance.
best behind the crest so far, god i wish pia was my coach haha she is awsome
I believe that we will win!
Great job today. we lost but these r the times your proud to be an American. Congrrats Japan!
Thank You so much for being such an inspiration, and showing that you should never give up on your dreams. My heart will always belong with the uswnt.

This is too heartbreaking to watch now :(
@MultiGargiulo i don't think it's about how popular a sport is.. i think it is about the skills of the players on the team..
GAHHHHHHH i cant believe that happened. but i love em anyway :D
WILD....TURKEY!!!
anyone notice how at 3:51 when they all give each other high fives, rapinoe is left out? guess she will just have to high five her hair!
Big heart to Japan for all they've been thru in the last 4 months,
but we KNOW USA WILL WIN THIS WORLD CUP CHAMPIONSHIP TODAY!

My prediction...PAIN!
That awkward moment when no one gives Rapinoe a high ten 3:50
@ItsDefOver9000 eh, you can't say that, even as a joke. Japan had the advantage of seeing the US take PKs before while the US has never seen Japan take Pks
@tmpennstate haha seriously right - i will love this team forever!!
wow that was sick she cought it with the back of her leg
@zava55 I heard that too!!
Someone can explain me why in women football (or soccer, as they call it) US are sort of superpower, when the sport is not popular in the country?
@jasper2008ify That's questionable. There are players quite precise and others not so much; Maradona had an average 88,24% of realization on PK. @datinyone yea but what if bball wasnt popular and no1 ever saw michael jordan or charles barkley larry bird etc.. but i get what u mean
Pinoe

@liquid1122 .... No. Just no. I'm sorry, but it's a lot more than just kicking it. There's pressure, the goalies reading you, and you have to strike it properly.
@mj097 amen to that
