Derek you are a recycler not a scrapper . You are contributing to a greener earth . Great video , sorry for the dry run . I've got a Ford diesel and I know it cost a lot when I have my trailer adds to the decrease in mileage .
I totally appreciate that you scrap. I wish more companies would work with folks like you. Honest, hard work and the positive impact on the environment is huge!
Very surprised any of them were left being there for a week. I’ll be honest can’t blame someone for taking them if they are still there that long! Most of my customers before I come along say they either throw them in dumpster or leave them for someone to come get.
If they were by a dumpster I can see that. I've had my customer put them down at the base of the pole and someone come grab them while they were at a different pole.
If I were you I'd take a trip back into that homeless camp with a Handcart and start collecting your lost transformers. You have the "homeless repellant" Go for it!
People here are always leaving those big 📺 out in the hallway for the maintenance man. Not if I get there first 🤣. Take out the goodie’s and put the rest back. 👍
Those bulky boxes are exactly why you need to build up a mini-crusher. Dropped my trailer off at a friend's house last week, stopped at Costco on the way home and somebody stole the hitch insert out of my hitch. Wasn't in there 20 minutes.
Shout out to Dollar Tree for sponsoring the Jaws of life cart! I like to stop in little places and give them my business, they usually have really nice employees and you can tell they truly appreciate it. Ya I sure hate to see you billing the guy for 300 he could probably just get a dumpster out there but I get your point it is what it is.
i hate when people try and say "keep a honest man honest" meaning dont put that temptation on them by leaving things. if your honest you not gonna steal regardless of situation a theif is a theif cant stand that shit
🇨🇦 A lot of homeless here in Edmonton, Canada strip wires with utility knives & leave bits of housing in the grass 🇨🇦. I have shown some of them my portable wire strippers, but none of them can even hold on to a cell phone because of the drugs.😢😢😢
Since you brought up the homeless people behaviour thing i just wanted to say, there's a guy here that will take peoples bags from the curb to the park and tear them right open and spread them out everywhere. Drives me nuts. But mental illness and drug addictions are brutal.
I was going to mention needing a front end alignment when I noticed your steering wheel. You have more than a couple of miles on that truck. You probably need to replace some suspension parts before you get the alignment. Sorry about Grandfather.
Thank's he will be missed. The truck is at 270k and you are right it burns up front tires really fast I think I need new ball joints. I will be doing an everything that's wrong with video on the truck. I have some parts already in stock for it so I should be able to clean it up without spending a fortune
i watch a lot of videos and storage units and you tube scrappers are getting hit 3 to 5 times and most of the time it is after the scrap has been processed . the more lbs the more money. and also follow you and when you stop they grab your scrap-- so on and so on and it just keeps getting worse. businesses too. watch you on your channels and get your location it is sad.
@@Kreacher1974 yes I used to make about $1000 off the stuff on average, but with the transformers being mostly aluminum, it’s hit or miss nowadays. I sent that guy a bill. lol
You're kind of funny talking about people looking down on scrappers while you're talking bad about the homeless people. The homeless people are frequently people who get taken advantage of because they are non-competitive and don't have aggressive tendencies. Sure, they frequently become self-destructive and abuse substances to deal with their impoverished situation. But, they can often recover from this if they get some basic needs met and get away from the abusive people around them. Everybody prefers to punch down rather than up but I think you have a heart and can understand how this happens to people. I bet you've known good people who make bad decisions in their life, and recover when they have some family or friends who help them out. Yeah, I know, some of them seem hopeless, but we can't really understand them until we walk a mile in their shoes. Maybe god blessed you with the ability to learn faster than them or something, but he could decide to teach you to see thier travails if he needs to, too. Thank Him if you are blessed.
Maybe I was not clear I was referring to the ones that steal. Taking from others to support a drug or drinking habit. I've known a few homeless people that had drug problems but would beg on the corner or find some kind of honest work to support the habit. I even tried to help a few in the past. Some do come back others are married to the habit and will drain you. The ones that steal from people I have no respect for.
We can't be having homeless people picking scrap off the curb & processing/transporting & weighing it in & buying a can of beans for supper. We cannot have that.
It was not on the side of the street or buy an obvious dumpster it was by the electrical panels for the lights and technically its a job site and in fl that's a felony and I fought they bought dinner.
@@ProjectShopFl Well you have to get up earlier than the homeless , dominate the scrap game curb pickup... That will ensure they will get NO beans for supper.
I recognize that, Riverview! Lived down the highway in palmetto for a year.
