I really love the "Doing That" series on this channel. I love how one feels immersed into the experience and travels, and also shows what it's like to be a pro musician... Keep it up!
WHOA!!! I thought i recognized Zach! My band toured with his back in 2015, and he and his incredible family even took us in when our van broke down in Nashville! Keep rocking Zach! -Pat from Sanctify
As a professional photographer I will NOT shoot weddings. However as a beginner bass player my goal is to get good enough to play in a bad wedding band 🤓
All of you guys in the van said it’s a lot. I play in a pro wedding band and it’s pretty fun and simple. A fee required songs , charted out, the rest is basic. I play weddings all the time. Is that the difference?
Good video, thanks. But, I'm confused about why you needed to learn 80 unique songs for these two weddings. In my wedding band experience, somewhere between 75% to 95% of the songs are the same songs the bands (or the individual musicians) had played at earlier weddings. So, unless this is the first time the band (or the musicians playing) have played a wedding, they should know most of the songs going in. Even if the musicians have never played a wedding (or similar party) before, you still wouldn't need 40 unique songs for each of 2 back-to-back weddings. [Edit: Unless you're letting the clients program the entire song/set list -- which would be... uhhh.. interesting -- and expensive!]
Love the video Travis! I can appreciate what it takes to be in a wedding band, as I'm in one as well! Question: are you and the guitar player going DI (no amps on stage)? If so, what rig is the guitar player using? Thanks!

Good stuff... thank you for sharing to us musicians trying to figure all this out!
LOVE stuff like this. I've lived this in a slightly different way (open mic night sound engineer/singer to get people going) so it's really relatable.
Insightful. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers and well done!
W love how the video turned out
Your videos are amazing. The behind the scenes aspect is very informative and beneficial to musicians. Thank you.

Why have you had to learn 80 songs? Do you not have an advertised repertoire?
