Hey, here’s a bit of a recommendation. Make your mainline between Beard Valles Junction and your lumber mill area double tracked because that will help with logistics so trains can easily pass each other
also signals can be used to make "pass points" where it splits into double track then back to single track. not as efficiant sure, but a good quick way to stop colisions
A tip for the schematicannon: if you use a checklist instead of a book you get a much better material list. It has icons for the blocks, and you can tick off items you've finished getting, rather than putting it in the schematicannon again. Loving the series, keep it up!
I'd love to see you build an old-fashioned railway bridge, reminiscent of britains age of steam industry and old American pioneers travelling west to follow gold rush trails, I am absolutely loving this create series Mr B!!
Suggestion: Add doubled tracks, this makes it such that two trains going in opposite directions will never crash. Perfect for a busy train network! Edit: You can use a clipboard instead of a book for the material checklist.
Loving the videos! For an idea for a station name, maybe Timber's Holm. Because a holm is an island surrounded by rivers, like your station, and it could be a play on words, like Timber's Home, because you'll store wood there, making it the home of the timber?
To help with your issue with the amount of space for passenger cars: I believe that Steam and Rails has a block that will couple and decouple train cars for you. So you can construct the passenger car somewhere else and attach it later!
Please continue with your series. Your create playthrough is brimming with possibility as you are about to expand your world using the create mod. Love the series.
At 13:02 it seems that for now the only passenger seems to be a fly on the passenger train xD ! Very clever fly imma say , for not wanting to be too tired and have a ride lol .
As someone who is very used to this train system thanks to factorio, i'm gonna sugest, change the signals just before juntions to be chain/copy signals (The only other version, you can see about them with ponder W); That way a train won't ever enter an intersection if the section it wants to enter is blocked already
1) a thing that I noticed someone else do, is on the train schedule, you can set it where having passengers is an option, as in the train will wait for however many passengers are seated before moving onto the next step (which was waiting 10 seconds) then the destination, then repeat so it can take you back and forth only when you're sitting in the cabin, and when you arrive it won't leave until you stand up and sit back down again. 2) Even if somebody comes up with a better name for the station stop, I think the farm should be named the "East Island Lumber Co." or "East Island Mills"... it kinda has a ring to it.
As my engineering brain sees the long long bridge and cries, haha. Ah, to be able to build just straight across the river in the direction you want to get to instead of always shortest distance/perpendicular. 3 bridges may work better and a more old school bridge look. However, could totally go Macinaw Bridge it as well! :) Tis the joy of minecraft, tho!
A small tip for you: you can go into the create settings and increase the number of tracks you can place down at the same time from 32 up to 128. it really helps with placing down tracks on a larger scale and make curves and co look even better. Anyways love the Series.
I have an interesting idea for what you can do with the east island (name suggestion: Eastpoint). Turn the island into a volcano. (It makes sense, volcanic soil is fertile and good for plants and trees so it would be perfect for a lumber yard) All of the buildings could be powered by the lava. You could use steam power or just give the machinery a steampunk vibe.
You don’t understand how much I love this series… like I’m already waiting for the next ep! Also 2 things, 1. Do you plan on putting the schematics for a train or your train carts online for people to use? Because you’re train looks so cool! And 2, this is another question about the seed?? The creator looking area looks awesome and would be cool to build in!! Anyways love the series and hope it lasts a while!!!
If you connect the trees with logs and then use the create saw to cut a tree, all of them get cut down. But you will have to remove all the wood touching the ground. All except 1, which you will use the saw on.
If you put a barrel in the middle of the coal cart, and put coal in it, you can make it a "powered" train, and it will go faster, using up some of the coal.
In railroading terms of things; bridges and tunnels are usually more expensive than building cuts and fills. So they would throw bridges and tunnels in where needed.
First time I followed a create series till the latest episode. Love the series. I think you can use the three types of track, like the broad one for goods
4:00 your station doesn't have to be next to the rail if you want to hide it away, would still recommend making it accessible. btw, you can also use create items with a station, eg. a deployer can disassemble a train if its at the station.
I just turned on my pc to play minecraft while listening to some videos and GUESS WHO UPLOADED! Guess i gotta watch the video and then play minecraft, i'm too excited for this series :D
I love the entrance to the tunnel, Needs some overgrown trees or bushes! The long bridge should be your attempt a golden gate style bridge. Because.. .That's a big GAP! And I would LOVE to see your decorate each one of your buildings using the frame blocks to have an exterior color and an interior color / room colors. I think it would REALLY improve everything. Loving the content, please keep up the good work. 👍
The Eastern Island could be called Woodland Mills and the station could be the Woodland Depot. Woodland being a reference to Woodland mansions for one good reason: Everywhere you go there are always Illagers.
For me, the horse would have ended up being called Rick after being given those parameters to work with! 2:10 - Up, up, up the slope we go and then we reach the tunnel and when you go in, there's no coming out, forget Snakes on a Plane (Sheloby spiders on a train!) :D
I recommend you write down / record your max train length somewhere. the reason is when you make single lane sections and need to add a passing siding you know exactly how long it needs to be
you might want to change where the train stops into beardew valley and potentially other stops, and have the passenger cars be the only thing at the stop rather than the engine and coal cart at the station, just so passengers have an easier time accessing their seats since there's so many cars
I'd say "Beardestry" as a play on forestry would work, but feels bit cheap, so maybe "Wood'o'clock Station" and you could add the cuckoo clock to sound whenever wood is ready?
Name suggestion for the island: Beardy's Lumber Buildery. Also, loving how the series is coming along, can't wait to see the rest as it seems you are just continuously getting better at using everything in the modpack and the design of the stuff you are building is actually very unique and very lovely to look at. Keep it up man, you got this!
Beardy, I cannot even begin to express how inspirational you and your work is...are? Whatever, English is hard. Trains look incredible, cannot wait to see how the manufacturing area takes shape! Also best train ever is the best train I've ever seen, hands down.
Amazing episode! You probably already thought this through but, for the sawmill/lumber yard you should make it build all types of wood blocks (stairs, slabs , etc..), with the usage of mechanical crafters. Because it would be easier for the future instead of manually crafting the slabs, stairs, etc...
Man, I love create and especially the trains it adds to the game! My name suggestions for the Island would be "Kock Wood Island" or "Raftton" (you know, like "raft" made out of wood and the island weighing tons swimming on the lake).
Absolutely loving this series. Create is probably my favourite mod and your train looks great! Name suggestion for your new island, you could call it "Easter Island" (expanded on your name idea a little lol) and then build some villager busts like the ones on Easter Island IRL.
Can also add the clipboard into the Schematicannon to get the read out of what is required for the build. Has a couple different options for hunting/selecting the stuff you need for the build.
Keep and eye on your signals around sidings. As seen at 14:18, you were on the siding and the main line was clear but your passenger train still stopped. Placing a signal for trains leaving the siding should solve that issue, that is if you see it as an issue😅
Little tip: you can cut trees down instantly with a mechanical saw. If you shift place it on a tree it will face the wood, great for league trees or Forrests!
Fun fact: Faster inputs on the display board means the info updates faster. So you could gear up that water wheel to make the board update a bit faster.
Once the whole rail route is done I'll do a nice journey video with some chill music haha, my fave thing is looking out of the train window with shaders on already, and I not even made the nice scenery yet haha
Here’s a suggestion for you, while placing down train tracks, for more beautiful sweeping corners hold shift when laying the long bites of track. Just a nice little tip for making more well rounded corners
Hey beardstone, when using the Canon to create builds, I wouldn't recommend using books, but instead use clipboards, it may sound strange, but you can use it as a better checklist, because you can check things off with it, and also see what the items look like
got a few ideas for naming the island where the lumberyard will be so here goes.... -Woodstop -La isla de madera (the wooden island in spanish) -East oakland -Oaklahoma -Spruceton
FYI, if you use the copycat blocks from Create instead of the framed blocks, the Schematicannon will correctly fill in the texture blocks (and include them in the materials list). It's less flexible because there are only two shapes, panel and step, but it would cover most of what you're building with those trains. Also if you use a clipboard instead of a book for the materials list, it puts a lot more items per page and allows you to check them off as you collect them.
Maybe beardstone I think you should build a train facility, you know where you can automate the train building process so that building a train isn't a problem. By the way far this is my favourite series on UA-cam. Keep it up!!
I don't know if this works with create, but why not try to make a turn table for the trains. Love the videos. Can't wait to see the factory in next episode
9:00 if the train has a chest glued to it that contains coal, the train will use that coal to go faster. the train does not take items from an item vault
Love the series; but a little tip is you should add the patchouli mod; it'll put in a animal guide book into the game for you; for Alex's mobs so you can read all about how too tame them and what they do. Anyway love the series keep up the good work ❤
Quick recommendation you can use a clipboard with the schematic cannon and you get a check list you can actually check off. It even applies pictures of the blocks
I think real trains solve the two trains on the same track problem by creating little offshoots. Like the rail will split of for a short distance and then reconnect to the same line. The one of the trains can wait on the offshoot thing while the other passes
Hey, here’s a bit of a recommendation. Make your mainline between Beard Valles Junction and your lumber mill area double tracked because that will help with logistics so trains can easily pass each other
Beardew Valley. I think it's mean to be a Stardew Valley pun with Stardew and Beard
also signals can be used to make "pass points" where it splits into double track then back to single track. not as efficiant sure, but a good quick way to stop colisions

yes you really should add double tracks
or at least a couple of passing places
definitley one of my favorite features in the create mod. So excited to see what this evolves to
can’t explain how excited i was to see you post another vid beard, love your content
You HAVE to call it the Deforest-Station.
😂👏😂👏
I like that name he took down half of the forest and he going to use the island as a logging mill
Genius idea!
Well, I was going to say Lumberman’s Isle, but this is objectively better.😆
100%
Create is so good! Who created create?! Were they engineers? It's pretty cool to see what you're capable of building with this mod!!
