Sehwag is Sehwag...I heard one story from a cricketer playing in UK with him. After the ball became a but old it started reversing... Sehwag said to his partner...'Ball is reversing we need to do something' ..Next over he hit the ball outside the stadium and it was lost. They got a new ball ..Sehwag said 'Now it's ok, for another 5-6 overs it won't reverse'

Sachin, Sourav, Dravid and Laxman are my favourite. When Sehwag came, it all changed. I started feeling India can dominate any team in the world. Such was the impact of Viru on Indian cricket.
Ganguly was my fav player, but when sehwag came, he hit 76 runs in one of the beginning matches of his career, I fell in love to watch the way he batted. After that he is still my fav player. Second one is Rohit sharma now

Got to love sehwag. I once heard inzaman say in an interview that it wasn't Sachin they were worried about, it was sehwag. No bowler was confident when it came to sehwag. One of a kind. Really wish he had played a lill longer.
Even Sangakkara and Muralidharan have said on this same show that best Indian batsman they have faced was Sehwag.

Sehwag was a star when I was a kid, with Britannia bat in 1999 and around. Ind vs SL those days was so good, we had Sehwag, SL had Jayasuriya. It was fun powerplay always in both innings.

He was the most demoralising batsman for every bowler till his eye sight and hand eye coordination was in its peak. He aged and his eye hand coordination got weak and with his unequipped leg movement he started edging and missing line of the ball in the later part of his career and he retired understanding his time is over. But he will remain a legend for the sheer fear he brought to the bowlers during his days.

This shows sehwag wasn't just a brute strokeplayer. He intentionally tries to hit good balls to discourage bowlers so that their performance levels dropped. Even Dale steyn said that he found it frustrating on indian tour that sehwag woud even smash good balls bowled by steyn.
No one destroyed spinners like Sehwag did. He destroyed all world class spinners because he had the intent to take the spinners to cleaners. One of the greatest entertainers of the game and a nice person as well.
He ended ajanta mendis career.. When everyone is struggling against him..

Also, he destroyed the career of great spin bowler like Saqlain Mushtaq during India's tour of Pakistan in 2004/05. Sehwag was a beast against spinners who used his feet so well and always took an aggressive approach to smash the spin bowlers out of the attack. A unique player indeed. Only flaw he had was against the moving ball due to his lack of feet movement to cover the line specially against outswing bowling, otherwise he would have had even better career. He was a match changer and entertainer, once in a generation type of player who scored at a strike rate of 80 plus in test cricket which is unbelievable for that long...
@@critical_analysis Shewag approach just like Vivian Richards, just blast aggressive approach. He used to play spinners very well, mainly Off spinners. I remember he used to struggle against left arm blowers with inswing balls with worst feet movement. Like BRACKEN, VASS etc. Super entertainer. He has only foot work problem, and big asset is his hand & eye coordination.

I remember watching Viru in ODIs..always used to pray that he doesn't get out before 10 overs..because once the spinners started bowling..it was always mayhem with Viru on crease :D

I went their to see him on nets so that just like another young enthusiastic youngster I can learn some. But then I realised there's nothing really to learn from him because this guy was there to hit the ball out. No feet movement nothing at all. No respect for the guy who's bowling. Step up and doooom.
