Great tutorial as always! Thank you. Does the 'play again' property of component still exist in newer versions of Sketchup? Can't seem to find it in 2021 version.
This is great and really helpful! I just have one question: I have a spiral staircase with an outer circle of 1,00m and an inner circle of 0,20m. While making the wall railing, the outer circle will work fine but the inner circle gives an error when using Curviloft. It says 'Contours can not be interpreted correctly. Try to force separations with small cut lines.' I honestly don't know what they mean, but I guess it's happening because the lines of the inner circle are too small? I would appreciate it a lot if you could help!
Hi Denise - Can you try scaling your model up by a factor of 5 or so using the scale tool, then see if it works? Sometimes when you start working with really small dimensions, SketchUp gets a little wonky...
@@xDns1 Hi, double clicking on one of the components allows you to edit just that component. You then draw a line within that component. It is then drawn on all the remining components.

You'd probably need to take a different approach. It might make sense to use something like Shape Bender or Flowify to bend a stair along that path. Honestly, the approach would depend on what the curve looks like. Thanks!

Just started working with Sketchup. I am strictly using it for stairs. What I am finding is all the tutorials use the same method. Which in reality are wrong in a sense. There no radius in the ones you just went through. There are no closed stringers or any stringers for that matter, and no nosing's. Now, I have managed to produce some straight systems.
