What does the driving school include? I seriously feel i feel wrongfully ticketed though. 12 years of driving and no instance till today! And it's by a ticket hungry cop who gave out over 500 in a month on record! I was not going the speed he claims till after the speed change. (Claims I did 48 in a 35, right after construction, then within. 1000 ft it changes to 50. I know I didn't go from under 30-48 within 20 seconds. @@cdviix3425

My buddy did this, issue is if you get another ticket within a year you get penalized pretty bad.
If I recall correctly, tickets from automatic cameras also aren't valid.
Apparently Duluth Minnesota raised ticket prices so people would just take a driver's course and learn how to drive but the people just paid the tickets instead

Usually diversions cost more than the ticket so they expunge it off your record given you don’t get any more tickets. There’s nuances that are definitely being ignored so make sure to mention them

Our area makes you pay and do the driving classes no matter how many tickets you get. My first tickets cost me 500+ , and I had to do the classes.
I got clocked doing 81 in a 55. Cop was totally cool, I was nice back.
Judge wouldn’t dismiss or give me a complete out but he was willing to lower it to a 59 in a 55 and allowed me to receive 0 points if I didn’t get another ticket within a year.
If you don’t ask you will never know!!
In Texas you can do differed disposition and take a drivers safety course (total of about $100-150) if you haven’t gotten a ticket in the last year, don’t have a CDL and not in a work/school zone. Tends to be much better than the $400 you’d spend otherwise.

Doesn't work in some states, iowa for instance dosent allow deferral or school on scheduled violations which speeding tickets are considered here

Deferral in my state costs more than paying the ticket, but the benefit is yes it won't be reported or on your record and you can apply for it yearly as long as you're not getting tickets within 6 months.
Making the alternative more expensive is the entire point of a ticket. The amount they cost is carefully calculated to be _just_ under the amount most people will lose missing work to go to court to fight it.
This is because tickets are not about safety, they're a random tax.
Insurance will probably increase your premiums since you’ll now be an “at risk” driver for needing to go to class.

In Michigan, if the judge feels like it, you'll get all of the above. You'll get the fine, the points, the threat of additional points if you get another ticket, and have to go to a training school on your own dime. Speeding ticket here is like 100 bucks, but it'll cost you 3 grand if you try to fight it.

You still give them money, sometimes ticket costs for deferrals and defensive driving costs more than the actual ticket would have. At least in Texas.

You still have to pay the ticket with deferred disposition.
Not in California, if you’re planning on taking a driver’s safety course/driving school, you have to pay the fine and THEN complete the course. You still get the conviction for the ticket but you won’t get a point on your driving record from the infraction, and you can only do this once every 18 months.
I did that for the one ticket I’ve ever had in 2008
Yet California still charged me over $200 even with driving school...

You still basically pay the ticket price as an "administration fee" - but you keep it off your record

I once got a parking ticket when I was 19 and went to municipal court for it. I was planning to talk to the prosecutor to get it removed, but the line was 20+ people to talk to him. I just paid the $80 sometimes it's not worth the wait

Anyway here's a brownie recipe
Ingredients
•1 cup unsalted butter
•2 cups granulated sugar
•4 large eggs
•1 teaspoon vanilla extract
•1/2 cup all purpose flour
•1/2 cup cocoa powder
•1/4 teaspoon salt
•1 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips (Optional)
Instructions;
1. Preheat over to 350° / 175°€ and grease a baking pan
2. Melt 1 cup of butter, mix with 2 cups of sugar
3. Add 4 eggs and 1 teaspoon vanilla; Mix until all the dry is mixed in.
4. Put in the 1/2 cup of flour, the 1/2 cup of cocoa, and the 1/4 teaspoon salt; Stir well
5. If you have the 1 cup of nuts or chocolate chips, add it in and stir.
6. Pour into pan, and bake for 25-30 minutes.
7. Check with a toothpick, if clean, let it cool and enjoy!

So now I know why a lot of people call the court asking for deferred disposition and driver safety course and then they get mad because according to the city of Dallas, you have to pay your deferred disposition, full price or driver safety course and administrative fee of $144
You can also serve it out if you dont want to pay. Get a dirty record, but not all of us care about that. Especially if you have worse stuff on there to start with.

My husband told the Judge it was his first speeding ticket. The police officer said he only chose my husband to pull over because he was driving a red vehicle. He admitted everyone else was driving the same speed as my husband. We ended up just paying the court costs. 😂
Alternatively, you can avoid a mess like this by simply not speeding.
Remember drivers safety course are also expensive 😂

In California just use a trial by declaration... The cop doesn't get paid to do the paperwork for that one so you will usually win by lack of prosecution... But if the cop does file the paperwork you can ask for a trial de novo (sp?). If the cop doesn't show up you win .. and if the cop shows up, ask the judge for traffic school.
Driving class is around the cost of the ticket anyway

😵don’t do this. You still pay court costs, and you have to pay for the driving class. And physical driving test. Both take hours of your day away and cost you more.

I have one more for you, Mike. My SO once forgot to pay for their license plate registration and it was six months out of date. We were pulled over for it and he got a ticket. While I was reading the ticket, I realized that the box for an expired drivers license not a license plate had been checked. My SO’s license was in date. we took that to the courthouse and they dismissed it. Of course they still made us pay a $10 filing fee😂

If you don't get a deferral, sell the car and start using public transport instead of paying the primums, the primums alone cost more than public transport for the same time span, also the gas alone cost more than public transport for the same amount of time so public transport is better
