Love how this is playing during Gul'dan's fight..See this is why years ago I gave up listing to my own music and had the game music playing. Oddly enough it more or so started during BC era. Although The Desert in Tanaris (old track) was my fav in Van
I think I know why! The original Vanilla WoW music was quite limited in its variety, probably due to funding issues. A lot of areas shared the same, repetitive themes. Taverns had one theme on loop too. Tanaris was one of the zones with its own, more unique, theme from the get go. Elwynn Forest was another one. TBC was the first expansion to start introducing a lot more variety, with each area having its own distinctive music. They also released faction-specific tavern music with TBC (like the memorable human, dwarf or pirate tavern themes). On top of which, of course, came the excellent music for the BC specific areas (especially the blood elf music for Silvermoon, Eversong Woods, Isle of Quel'Danas, Magister's Terrace etc). The major rework of vanilla area geography and music happened much later, with Cataclysm.

It was my favourite Legion music, along with Holy Warriors, and I hope to hear it again during the huge clusterfuck of war between all existential powers, including Death (now somehow allied with the player) and the Legion… this music… o yes…
Every bloody xpac, the soundtrack of wow is getting better and better. How is that even possible?!
Stood outside blackrock foundry earlier to do a mog run, was amazed when i actually listened to the soundtrack there while waiting at summon stone, and it reminded me of this one. WoD Iron dawn track.. expansion wasnt that great but some of the music was stunning.

imagine roleplaying yourself as a scout and you see a green light far and you go there to investigate and you find a huge portal and scores and scores of demons walking right out of if. you are helpless not knowing what to do and this music plays
When you finally come to yours senses, you turn to flee and warn the world. But turning you find that the entire landscape around you has turned scorched black, with more sickly green portals opening and there are too many demons to count now, with some horrifyingly large ones lumbering into the world. Tremble. And despair. For doom has come to this world.
The best fookin song for every boss in the raids
This is the music that plays from the Horde POV during Tirion Fordring's death. I will never forget the epic moment this track started playing as I raced to helplessly try and save the Highlord.

That made me so mad. How dare he lie like that about our king? Gul'Dan was a coward and I took pleasure in finally killing him.

There will never be an expansion like legion ever again. Blizzard made sure of that with Beta for Azeroth.

Sargeras: Well yes, but actually no.
BfA feels like it's pretty much the same expansion. Takes place on a group of islands. Azerite power ups are just like the artifact weapon. Crappy imbalanced RNG gearing. Forces the player to do PvE because PvP gear vendors are gone. The only thing Legion had over BfA is the main story was actually good. And I'll give the art and music departments credit as well as they are good in every expansion.

Legion music/ graphics/story are so superior to anything else. Ever since the end of that extensions things couldn't compare to that extension. I'm missing so much good memories. The game is unpayable now. Not because it's bad but because it has become lame. Dragonflight seems lamer than ever.
