    People are oblvious to what the f*ck is going on around them 90% of the time. I work Security in London and every day people are getting mugged for their phones cause they're walking around on white glued to social media. If I walk with my phone out I always assess my area beforehand and my phone is never out of my pocket longer than 30 seconds max! I look as far as I can see down the road and I always look at people's body language. But, I am a trained individual.

    Another great one Mike.
    We have a similar problem here in Canada.
    Not only are men getting softer, but even if you are able to defend yourself or help someone else, there is fear of legal troubles in the form of an assault charge or civil suit from the perpetrator (s).

    Nice breakdown. I think its very sad people nowadays dont step up and help. We need to change that weak mindset in society.
    I dont know the law in your country, but in germany its "emergency support" to help someone in selfdefence and you are allowed to use necessary force.

    That’s a really good point about the bystanders - the most they do nowadays is take out their phones to film, but mostly they just stare … this includes incidents where people are harassed in public …

    Great content! I think you are totally on point when it comes to denial. The victim has a very stiff posture, as if he is scared but trying to not show it. He probably saw the threat coming, but like you said, was in denial. I’ve been in denial myself, because you don’t want to believe that you are about to be attacked. It’s easier to mot believe that. There have also been times when I’m sure I’m about to be attacked and then wasn’t, could have been I ”looked too ready” or I just misread the situation. Always hard to tell afterwards.

      Probably the same as Norwegian laws... You essentially have to wait for the attacker to hurt you before you are allowed to respond.
      Essentially a guy comes up and slaps away your guard that would still give you Jail-time if you respond with a jab.

    • @TheThundertaker
      @TheThundertaker 9 місяців тому +2

      Man, I though UK self defence laws were weak. To be fair though UK law (or at least in England and Wales, Scots law is different) you are allowed to hit first if you are in "reasonable fear of imminent attack". If you seriously hurt the guy you might have to explain yourself to a jury but the law as it is written would give you a defence as long as you could demonstrate that the guy was being aggressive and threatening.
