I've been pining for this bass for awhile, and your demos definitely solidified that. Soon.™

enjoyed this demo, very much demonstrates the blank-slate Fender approach to building tools for any player in any style. Thank you! Will look out for these basses in the future!

BTW, your first guess on the body material is correct- it is basswood. Unfortunately it's kind of a "soft" wood and can be dented/damaged easier compared to more traditional woods.
I still have my '89 Frost Red (same color as yours) that I bought back in the mid-90's for like $400. Such a great playing bass with an amazing/flexible range of sound.
Ugh....I know that melody @ 7:45..... but I can't quite place it. My brain will randomly give it to me later while I'm in middle of conversation about the weather or discussing law...

Just got mine today nice demo video btw 👌 I’m glad I didn’t spend all my money on a Lakland or an MTD like I was planning to, these MIJ Fenders have that tone and feel to it! Only paid $350 on it 👍👍

Wow. $350 is a steal, especially in the current economic climate.

I stole this one :) It was $350-375 with a mint OHSC. The case is a big deal because it only fits this bass. I passed on the good karma to a friend the day after I show this video and sold it to him for what I had in it. These basses i nice shape usually fetch $500 or more. If you are looking for a nice active PJ bass that can be had for reasonable money, check out the Peavey Dyna Bass LTD. Most people don't know what they are and it's possible to get one for around $400. See my video of what one sounds like here -> ua-cam.com/video/FmZld6hBiaY/v-deo.html

O.K. Now that's more like it. Just getting into these Fender Basses and wanted to check out the sound first. First video of a so called "demo" was nothing but some idiot blasting through an aweful sounding distortion pedal the entire video. Idiot. You, on the other hand, have made a nice demo video of the actual tones this thing can put out, plus you've got some rather nice playing as well. Thank You.
