Grealish has taken his game to another level with better players. He’s already changing the way he releases the ball. I like the level of detail in this video, but they are two different players and they both do different things for a team. So its hard to compare things like holding onto a ball to long as Villa benefit from that.
Yes but note that with Villa everything still flows through him vs at Foden - he’s just part of a bigger machine. Players like Grealish are a bigger risk for a club as you’re basically making him in charge of your possession whereas Foden isn’t as dominating thus can be used alongside other playmakers more easily. Long term be interesting to see how Foden fares in this comparison as at the moment Grealish has the edge.
Good video PT. A few points from me: They are both class, and will easily play in the same team once Foden properly breaks through. One massive factor with Grealish is that it cannot be underestimated how much he has been playing in a mess of a club at Villa since breaking through. It would have been so much easier to come though at a functioning club with some other footballers to pass the ball to. A sliding doors moment. Grealish already loves to pick the ball up from deep, but this has often come out of necessity as villa haven’t had the footballers to transition up the pitch without him. He has been doing this and still playing no 10! With better players in behind him he will be freed up to stay higher, although I suspect he will alway want to orchestrate. You are incorrect in stating that Grealish is lazy etc. Hardest working player on the pitch. Drives villa on in a pressing game since Dean Smith. Always working desperately hard. Grealish’s goalscoring isn’t as good as it should be, mainly as all of the onus on creativity has been on him. With some better players around him he should have more freedom to get on the end of things. I don’t think it will ever be great though as he is more of a glider and a caresser as opposed to a wriggler with a snap shot. Grealish has never had good players around him, which makes a massive difference. It’s not easy playing one twos with Glenn Whelan. He now has a an attack minded manager and some half decent players around him for the first time. Just watch him pop it around Tika Taka with good players.
Hey Jamie, No doubt that Grealish has had to climb mountains whereas Foden has been fed with a silver spoon but ultimately Foden has the more professional mentality and is the safer bet to reach his potential. Jack is obviously more mature now and not just physically but mentally he's become a man recently and that bodes well for the future. I have no problem with him coming deep, hence why I think that is ultimately where he will play when at a CL level club.. I think he can obviously play at 10, but his movement is a touch static when compared against the very best 10's/attacking mids at world-class level and he likes the game to be played at his pace.. which can be an issue for a 10, but not so much for an 8 where the ability to dictate the tempo is invaluable. He's not lazy.. but only in the context of the comparison against a livewire in Foden (who is a bundle of energy) can he be viewed as slightly lacking in terms of defensive work-rate and movement off the ball. Foden's movement is simply snappier (he's less bulkier which helps in this regard). Goalscoring wise, I expect Grealish to go up some levels.. perhaps not at Villa.. if the side finds the step up hard, but certainly at a bigger club he can definitely be a 15 goal a season player from midfield. Agree that by playing with lesser players he was forced to ball hog but over the course of last season he trusted his team mates more and ball circulation wise was improving at a rapid rate. He's trying to delegate more. Look forward to seeing him against prem opposition and really hope he breaks through into the England set up sooner rather than later!
Would love an updated video on these two once the season is over. Both have come on a lot! and while he didn't get a lot of time in the prem until recently, Foden has definitely staked his claim as Silvas successor since the season resumed. If the pressure doesn't get to him, I think we all know he's more than capable.
Ideally would love to but tend not to go back to players as time is precious and have a fair few requests coming through for other players. Happy to write an article though!
As a villa fan I think that Grealish’s weight of pass is actually very good, an example being the assist in the first leg of the playoffs for hourihane. Also he presses constantly in midfield and if I had to guess I would say he covers the second most ground in our team. Great video too
Hey mate, I too think he has a great weight of pass.. especially compared to someone like Mason Mount for instance. I remember his assist v Liverpool in the FA Cup semi's and his near assist v the Blues this season. Its just Foden is an astonishing talent based on that particular attribute.. and its about different levels (with regards to different attributes). Grealish is another level to Foden in terms of shooting technique, but in terms of weight of pass whilst both are CL standard IMO, I think Foden is a slight class above on that front although it is hard to separate them at this moment in time.. he makes super difficult passes look easy time and time again when on the run.
@@PythagorasinBoots it would be interesting to re-do this video of Foden & Grealish at the end of 2022-2023 season as they're currently playing in the same team & so far Foden is way far better than Grealish in every aspect of the game.
Quality video. Dude lightning doesn't strike twice often n doubt it has this time either! 2 videos from you now in short time and both quality, my subscription to your channel thus remains intact. Here's too many more vids.
Thanks bud ... very kind words, makes the hours researching worthwhile! Looking forward to Grealish in Prem - he's had a hard road back to this level but I expect him to continue to elevate his game and show the bigger clubs he's one to keep an eye on.
I think you have misinterpreted what I mean by natural goalscorer. Someone like Lampard naturally got into good positions and geared his game around wanting to score goals whereas Foden is more of a playmaker who can also score goals but the goals aspect is something he has to work on in terms of wanting to get in the box more. It’s different from me critiquing his finishing which I am sure said was very good - happy to be corrected if I criticised his close range finishing - hope that helps.
@@PythagorasinBoots yeah looking back at this and you are correct, although he isn't a natural goalscorer I think his ball striking ability will help allow to score goals at a very good rate
In the carabao cup final, Foden have clearly shown what is in his locker. Foden has shown an ability to receive the ball in the opponent’s penalty area, and cause similar levels of damage against sides like David Silva. His movement in the edge of the box, his drive, ability to dive away from tackles and tenacity showcased a performance coming of his age. In limited minutes, Foden has shown that he has the tools to take on much of what David Silva has brought to the team. But wether he would stand up to the expectations of City and England can only be told with time, especially when the ceiling that would be compared with him is that of a legend of the game itself.
Problem is that City is a very intense environment for a young player. If he doesn't immediately match Silva's level next year, and the team struggles again like this year - it is game over for Pep and Foden will be an easy player to take out of the side due to his lack of status. He is clearly very talented and at most clubs would already be in first XI and at somewhere like United, he would be a regular but right now he is walking on a tightrope and I hope for England that his patience will be rewarded.
Please explain messi is he winger, inverted winger , roaming playmaker, mazzela what did he play over the years and how he scores too much goals how his movements like??? Is he centre forward midfielder right cam 🙃🙃🙃 should make videos on this help many of us 💞 and please explain how to play like messi what can we learn from messsi besides his dribbling skills . Haw can we play simple and still so effetice.
If Grealish didn't force a move to Tottenham last summer when Villa was in shambles facing administration in the Championship, I don't think he's going to want to move on now that we're in the Premier League for several seasons at least.
Agreed.. if you stay up and the investment keeps flowing - no reason he can't stay till he's 25. Having said that if he lives up to his potential and showcases his ability in the EPL, i think its inevitable that suitors in the Prem and across Europe will want a piece of him - he's box office, has charisma and the looks to be huge... so lets just say he absolutely smashes it next season, there will be some massive fees being thrown around.
I'm assuming you mean matches? or do you mean video games i.e. Fifa/Pes.. either way I would be planning to do videos on all things football related so both would come under that umbrella.
@@lw_2 its an easy league for PSG because they're an exceptional side but physically it is a very demanding league, played at a high tempo with some very gifted but 'raw' players who are athletic. That is why Ligue 1 players find it easier to transition to EPL than Serie A which is tactically better than the French league but played at a slow tempo which makes it hard to adjust to EPL.
really good video but as a villa fan jacks a box to box midfielder was only a pre season game but the other week we had a throw in in line with our 18 yrd box he vollyd the ball first time from that to the opposite full back three passes later had a volley shot in side the opposition box i can see foden been an out and out modern *10 pep really made messi the top player in the world by making him a false 9 really interesting to see how he develops foden in the future
oh and grealish works hard ever since steve bruce was manager he was setting grealish targets of running 11km a game and that has stayed with him last season stats show with grealish on the field we conceded half as many goals and created twice as many but grealish only had 6 goals and 7 assists or roughly that so it shows his work is done in the middle of the pitch however dean smith the manager has really got into jack the importance of getting into the box to have a chance of scoring no other villa manager has really done that and hes getting better and better at that side of his game wouldnt be surprised if he broke 10 goal barrier this season
Thanks mate. Agreed that due to Grealish dropping more deeper and being involved with build up and controlling game more it makes it more difficult to score big numbers going forwards but with his talent - he should be able to do that and still eventually manage to break 10 goals a season. Whilst he does work hard the intensity and dynamism with which he needs to press would need to keep undergoing development if he was to make the move into a bigger side. It’s not beyond him by any means just something noted as an area for Jack to continue to improve.
As good as Grealish has been in the Championship I'm sure (haven't watched him at all for years personally tbh) he is 5 years Foden's senior so the comparison immediately seems an odd one Mason Mount is probably the most obvious comparison for Foden and James Maddison for Grealish But regardless of all the above an interesting video
Thanks for your comment Bran.. as good as Maddison and Mount are essentially there can only be two spots available in that midfield and I chose to go with the two players that excite me the most and the guys I think will in the long term break into that England set up as the regular pairing.. even though Grealish is not on Southgate’s radar at the moment. As to the age point - I feel that Grealish has had a very stagnated career due to Villas troubles on and off the pitch and whilst he may be 5 years older .. he’s still very much at the start of his career when we are talking Prem level whereas Maddison is established as a solid player at this level (albeit he too came via the Championship). It’s an exciting time though from an English perspective - kind of hoping we don’t see Lingard taking away the fans time from all the lads you mentioned - they’re all more talented IMO!
Love to see winks foden and Maddison in england midfield, winks holding and foden Maddison as 2 no 8’s playing between the lines in the half spaces not sure Southgate is brave enough tho more likely go with Henderson, rice, ox
For England he will be a bench player under Gareth and mostly from left wing. For City LW or false 9. Foden can play across the attack but for England it will not be as a striker.
This sounds uppity as fuck but I feel you are one of the few people who i feel could chat footy on my level obviously the other youtube tactic guys most of our pundits dont know football let alone your average fan. I Love your attention to detail. On Foden I would argue Pepp is the wrong manager for Foden as he doesn't want players to open the game up by beating men and thus getting in the space behind them. He considers this to risky. Foden is the most naturally inclined player i have ever seen to move towards an opponent and ask for the ball then loose that player with his first touch. My fear is this skill, often achieved on the half turn is itself behind lost under 'Pass-Move-Rotate into space' Pepps system is very clever and effective but there would be no place for a maradonna in it! Again, love your work.
That is high praise, appreciate those comments. That is an exceptional point to spot, but would you not agree that due to Foden's lack of physicality, Pep's more conservative approach in possession suits him better than Grealish's more riskier approach where he holds on to the ball and invites challenges.. knowing he has the strength to ride the challenges? As I mentioned in the video, Foden is more of an Iniesta mixed with a Scholes. Completely agree with your point regarding Maradona... he would lose a lot of that flair and individuality, if under Pep. Messi's more machine like efficiency with the ball is more in line with Pep's ideals.. whereas Maradona was more off the cuff. To summarise, for now I think Pep is a good manager for Foden, assuming he starts and plays consistently, as it will give him a great foundation in terms of technical solidity and decision making but long term you are probably right, he could get stronger and flourish even more under a less restrictive manager.
@@PythagorasinBoots Yes point taken about the strength but I believe football strength is only slightly about power and more about balance, touch, techique and even mentality. I'd site players like Rooney and Lakaku very strong men who rarely looked strong on the ball. Compare them to Sterling, Best Berbatov. What im saying is id expect the physicality to come. It may be lacking now through under exposure perhaps? Pep is basically playing social distancing on grass until the ball falls level with the box(s). Foden is a freak, look at how he runs he clearly has a strong core to move like that. That left foot too, he so often chooses which area of the ball to punch with that side foot and with varying degrees of follow- through. Like a snooker player hitting the white. Its madness. I think we have two footballing freaks in him and Greenwood. Not just good but top tier above the iniesta, RVP, Scholes, Henry levels and up there with the names I almost dare not mention. I loved your Bellingham vid by the way, I love the way you do not shy away from calling things. To many are hesitant in analysis for fear of being judged or proven wrong. I expect your channel to grow. If you ever want a vid chat for your channel for any utd content. I have crazy insight. Feel like I need to let it out! Like you, I see and call what I actually witness not what backs up my presupposition or the games clumsey cliches. An example is 'football brain' or 'game Intellgence' how many quote that when in reality it is a multiple array of facets that some have some havnt. You could have brilliant vision and be terrible in understanding game tempo (both up and down) - Pogba. Or be able to fill various positions on the pitch really well but not see visionary short passes (Rooney). Analytically there is a massive hole for keen eyes I believe. This youtube punditry is great for the game and I believe people like you are taking it to another level in how you mesh opinion and fact. Keep being brave though. Keep calling what you see!
@@PermanentMerka I agree, but remember guys like Messi and Iniesta... they have a great low centre of gravity but it did take them a little into their 20's before that extra bit of calf, thigh and hip strength kicked in. Look at their legs from teens vs end of career.. so as Foden gets older he will be able to invite more challenges but right now he looks vulnerable physically and thus it is clever to avoid holding on to possession too long at this phase of his development against teams who will soon see him as a threat. Greenwood and Foden should be headed for the very top and are two of the most gifted english footballers I have ever seen, but luck, injuries, managers etc all will have their part to play so remains to be seen what levels they hit, but if England are to win a World Cup - these two would be at the forefront of a victorious campaign IMO. Completely agree with your analysis of Pogba and Rooney, there are varying degrees of football intelligence and it is also in relation to your own position on the pitch. Pires for example could see and understand the game better from the left side of the pitch, he was more instinctive and made better decisions down that side whereas on the right, could look a little lost although he impressed me there in Euro 2004. Our ethos here at Pythagoras In Boots is to break from mainstream punditry and analysis by calling it safe and coming across 'intelligent' just by stating the blinding obvious but in flowery terms. Prefer to live and die by the sword. If get it wrong, so be it but we would hope to get it right a lot more often then we get it wrong.. so far the hit rate seems to be pretty good, so are thankful for that.
@@PythagorasinBoots Excellent stuff. Couldnt agree more with your summary of mainstream punditry. Even when they try to extent themselves you see why these people never became managers. Neville telling utd to get the ball forward quicker when being pressed sticks in my mind. Not form triangles outside the parallel of the pressing players in the middle of the next available space then. Or put your best switchers wide and start booming it across. I wonder what they teach them on these coaching badges. To be fair though the tactical knowledge i acquired only came from seeing a 'variety pack' of what not to do with managers post fergie. Aint no point dissing these people if you cant depict what is being done wrong. Id love to see a vid on how keane quickened and slowed the tempo in games and how Pogba with his lack of 'give go get' and dwelling on ball ala berba is so often the opposite of this. This issue is the hidden techicle aspect that underlys a great deal of the pogba debate. People have gone to character, effort and even race to explain the polarising of opinion! Like a player cant be that eclectic mix of good and bad. They just dont get him as a player. I think this video would get mad hits. I loved Pires by the way he hit heights Giggs never did with his pois and incision.
PermanentMerka I will be doing a Pogba video soon after Greenwood and Pulisic. Keep an eye out for it. Having gone on these coaching courses, you’d be surprised - the coach mentors aren’t actually that bad but the actual candidates - it does beggars belief how backwards a lot of them are in terms of their thought processes on the game or lack there of. I would say though amongst the younger generation there is a greater appetite for tactical knowledge and implementation of more modern coaching methods but it will take a long time to trickle through and one of the major obstacles is lack of diverse coaches at grass roots level in the lower professional leagues.. it means there remains a very traditionally English mentality across the footballing pyramid and thus there is very slow progress at the lower end of the game.
Thanks mate. Think we will have to respecfully agree to disagree.. it’s not the volume of defensive work I have an issue with per se - more the intensity at which it is done. Also for the purpose of the video I had to try to pick out some flaws or areas of improvement and that one stood out to me when comparing him to the more nippier Foden.
Michael Babyak if Foden played regularly he would grow rapidly and as the video states - his talent level is phenomenal but doesn’t matter how good you are in terms of ability - being starved of game time is going to kill your development as a player. Sancho realised this and moved on at the right time and is already a top level player.. Grealish is at a club where he is guaranteed minutes and everything runs around him but Foden is barely getting minutes. I’m quite disappointed that he isn’t pushing for a move and that shows his mentality is possibly weaker than I have given him credit for.
@@PythagorasinBoots JACK and PHIL (LOL) are much the same as in being with there clubs since they were little boys Grealish did not get the the chance to play until Sherwood gave him the chance foden now at 19 is being eased by PEP like a little puppy but look whats in front of him both are from the same mold so in Fodens case in a few years he will transform into what you are expecting from him in Grealish case his time is NOW and there is no way SOUTHGATE can keep him from EUROS in fact i think h he allready has told him your in but be quiet about it remember Toulon 2016 U 21 he choose him for that and Jack scored 2x
@@PythagorasinBoots let's see next season, I think pep is someone who is too loyal to old heads so isn't gonna start ramping up Foden minutes till Silva leaves so Foden is just lapping up any last bits of info from Silva before he takes that spot. Also Foden has defo been given a guarentee for next season otherwise he would have left asap on loan or perma
Villanmike hard to disagree with that. Shows you the benefit of regular football though - I hope for England’s sake that Foden gets regular game time by next season otherwise his career could stall. He’s been way too patient.
I’m not sure he’s a Pep type of midfielder. Pep likes his mids to move the ball around very quickly and not linger on the ball and whilst Jack has progressed in this regard, he still likes to be the focal point of a side and for it to revolve aldjnd him.
When describing Grealish's decision making you the clips you used were clearly all fouls on Grealish. He was baiting players into making the challenge to take pressure off of his teammates. If that isn't good decision making what is. On top of that most of your arguments appear to be based off of Grealish 2 or 3 years ago. Yes Grealish is the system but that is out of necessity. On top of that Grealish is always available for a pass which you implied he wasn't. Furthermore Grealish is a quality defender so far being 3rd in the league in blocks. Grealish also plays lots of 1 and 2 touch football it is just his ayro gest attribute is running at defenders with the ball similar to both messi and iniesta (obviously he is not that good but that is what their best skills were) and Grealish is more the pass before the assist man which is similar to iniesta. Where they don't rack up huge stats but are key to their team.
Hi mate - Grealish wins fouls undoubtedly but that wasn’t necessarily meant as a criticism - it has its plus and negative points. Plus is that it shows courage and he is always willing to receive the ball and relieve his team mates of pressure but he has to balance it in terms of knowing when to do that and when to release it quicker as we saw with his error against Spurs. Also bear in mind these critiques are about how he can improve and not necessarily stating this will be a permanent issue which he cannot improve on (that goes for any criticism). Also I think to say Grealish decision making is perfect makes no sense when you realise he’s still a player who is developing and isn’t a world class 10 at this point in time. You compare Grealish to Iniesta which I get in some respects but Iniesta could at times fade into the background of a game because Messi, Xavi would dominate possession more whereas with Grealish the same cannot be said he’s at the forefront. You can argue it’s because he’s at Villa that is the case and that might well be true but Iniesta is definitely less likely to ball hog than a Grealish.. his decision making as to when to hold on to the ball is one of the best of all time - Grealish is not at that same level of knowing when to hold and release and may never be but he is clearly improving all the time in this respect.
@@PythagorasinBoots Grealish is not hogging the ball. He looks to make the pass first. If you compare him to mcginn Grealish will generally have 10-15 more completed passes per game despite mcginn winning the ball 3 or 4 more times a game. This is mainly because Grealish receives the ball and looks to move it on uike mcginn who often will take shots even in bad positions. I also wasn't saying Grealish's decision making is perfect I was saying I have not seen an example in your video where Grealish's decision making was flawed. This season he has had shots from the edge of the box where 1 more pass would have played a man in but Grealish winning fouls is an example of good decision making. And if you compare it to foden it he passes the ball it is almost always the right decision because he has silva, sane, aguero and sterling who can all make goals out of nothing (not to say foden isn't giving them anything) so it is a lot easier to say foden made the right decision because 2 or 3 other passes would have also been good decisions. With the goal against spurs this season a couple of things 1) Grealish was fouled lamela has gone through both of Grealish's legs to get the ball 2) there clearly was no call for man on. Grealish should have cleared the ball but he was attempting to keep the ball and take some pressure off of us. Regarding the comparison to iniesta I wasn't saying Grealish drifts in and out of games which did happen when Bruce played him left midfielder. I was saying it because Grealish is unlikely to finish a season with 10 goals and 10 assists but he might have 15 pass to assists because he puts others in a position for easy chance creation.
Joseph Webley it’s not surprising that Grealish makes more passes considering he’s the playmaker of the team and the one who the play goes through. No one is saying he never passes the ball only that there is a slight over tendency to over hold on to the ball which in the initial games this season was telling. As he gets more used to the EPL you can see his sharpness with the ball is getting better and he is making good decisions and less caught on the ball.
@@PythagorasinBoots Completely disagree. In the first few games he was far too eager to get rid of the ball and didn't drive forward with ball. Since the arsenal game however he has been much more confident with the ball and taking on more players. This is the most important aspect of his game. It isn't hogging the ball because he almost always releases it when he needs to (although he occasionally makes mistakes) like against Norwich when a quick 1 2 lead to an easy finish after he took on 2 players to create space for himself.
Joseph Webley if you think over the course of his career Jack has been too eager to release the ball then you clearly haven’t been watching Jack Grealish. Yes he perhaps wasn’t as involved in his games in the EPL but that error versus Spurs was a long time coming and it would have taught him a valuable lesson.
Grealish at this moment in time is a far much better player than foden .. foden plays in a team yes that being Man City so he’s obvs gonna look good which player wouldn’t a just think he’s a touch overated and more of a hype job not saying he’s a bad player tho
Grealish is one of my favourite players so not sure how you reached that conclusion. He does however need a tad more defensive freedom than a Foden. That is evident from their stats this season - Foden has more pressures, interceptions per 90.
+Jude Marshall he was the most fouled player in the Championship which is an impressive stat but you can’t afford to keep on to the ball for too long once you play against better level of opponents and teams. We have seen with Pogba that he slows the game down too much with United and the better sides in Europe do not allow a single player to ball hog especially in central midfield. IMO since Dean Smiths arrival - Grealish is getting better in this respect anyway and I believe he will only improve with a season in the Prem.

We saw against Spurs how Jack over-indulging with the ball proved costly at Premier League level. He will learn from it and become sharper in terms of ball-circulation.

Today we can already see you were spot on mate. Respect!
This takes me back a bit 😂
@@PythagorasinBoots it would be interesting to re-do this video of Foden & Grealish at the end of 2022-2023 season as they're currently playing in the same team & so far Foden is way far better than Grealish in every aspect of the game.
Nice video man. Foden is one of the best prospects I've seen in a LONG time. Maybe even since Rooney? Hope he can stay healthy.
I think he will be better than Rooney.
Quality video. Dude lightning doesn't strike twice often n doubt it has this time either! 2 videos from you now in short time and both quality, my subscription to your channel thus remains intact. Here's too many more vids.
n foden 100% for me, will be exciting to see how Grealish does in the prem.
Thanks bud ... very kind words, makes the hours researching worthwhile! Looking forward to Grealish in Prem - he's had a hard road back to this level but I expect him to continue to elevate his game and show the bigger clubs he's one to keep an eye on.
1:34 i disagree that he's not a natural goal scorer, I think his finishing in the box especially is actually very good
I think you have misinterpreted what I mean by natural goalscorer.
Sound video mate, very helpful in my game
Where do you play mate?
You must make a new of both or one you’ll see , would be a great video and vini
Yes this does need an update!

Agreed but do you thin he would be fouled any less on another team ?

So what kind of videos will you be putting out this season apart from the league predictions that your going to do any game reviews?

really good video but as a villa fan jacks a box to box midfielder was only a pre season game but the other week we had a throw in in line with our 18 yrd box he vollyd the ball first time from that to the opposite full back three passes later had a volley shot in side the opposition box i can see foden been an out and out modern *10 pep really made messi the top player in the world by making him a false 9 really interesting to see how he develops foden in the future
oh and grealish works hard ever since steve bruce was manager he was setting grealish targets of running 11km a game and that has stayed with him last season stats show with grealish on the field we conceded half as many goals and created twice as many but grealish only had 6 goals and 7 assists or roughly that so it shows his work is done in the middle of the pitch however dean smith the manager has really got into jack the importance of getting into the box to have a chance of scoring no other villa manager has really done that and hes getting better and better at that side of his game wouldnt be surprised if he broke 10 goal barrier this season
Dude you make no sense😕
As good as Grealish has been in the Championship I'm sure (haven't watched him at all for years personally tbh) he is 5 years Foden's senior so the comparison immediately seems an odd one
Mason Mount is probably the most obvious comparison for Foden and James Maddison for Grealish
But regardless of all the above an interesting video
It’s an exciting time though from an English perspective - kind of hoping we don’t see Lingard taking away the fans time from all the lads you mentioned - they’re all more talented IMO!
bran. So 5 months on what do you think now surely you have watched him now ?
Love to see winks foden and Maddison in england midfield, winks holding and foden Maddison as 2 no 8’s playing between the lines in the half spaces not sure Southgate is brave enough tho more likely go with Henderson, rice, ox
Grealish Foden and Maddison all in the EURO squad makes sense to me

Amazing.
where do u think grealish will play for Manchester city and England also foden?
For England he will be a bench player under Gareth and mostly from left wing. For City LW or false 9. Foden can play across the attack but for England it will not be as a striker.
Both are really good although Foden has higher ceiling

Can Grealish function as an 8?
I think so as long as he has the right team mates around him.
Good vid just totally disagree with workrate
Thanks mate. Think we will have to respecfully agree to disagree.. it’s not the volume of defensive work I have an issue with per se - more the intensity at which it is done. Also for the purpose of the video I had to try to pick out some flaws or areas of improvement and that one stood out to me when comparing him to the more nippier Foden.
So how dow u feel now about this comparison FODEN do not play enough. but if he did ?
Jack is twice the player Foden currently is.
Villanmike hard to disagree with that. Shows you the benefit of regular football though - I hope for England’s sake that Foden gets regular game time by next season otherwise his career could stall. He’s been way too patient.
Apples and oranges.
Ball retention dribbling, Foden.
1v1 Grealish.
Jack sexier
Haha
Grealish would be immense at Man City. He would get 15+ per season
I’m not sure he’s a Pep type of midfielder. Pep likes his mids to move the ball around very quickly and not linger on the ball and whilst Jack has progressed in this regard, he still likes to be the focal point of a side and for it to revolve aldjnd him.
Although Grealishs defending is umderrated
wow u got ball knowledge
#Aheadofthecurve
That’s how we do it ❤️
Grealish at this moment in time is a far much better player than foden .. foden plays in a team yes that being Man City so he’s obvs gonna look good which player wouldn’t a just think he’s a touch overated and more of a hype job not saying he’s a bad player tho
Now they are on the same team foden is performing while grealish is not
Grealish is not lazy seems you have an agenda against him somehow
Grealish is one of my favourite players so not sure how you reached that conclusion. He does however need a tad more defensive freedom than a Foden. That is evident from their stats this season - Foden has more pressures, interceptions per 90.
@@PythagorasinBoots from the time you made this vid a lot has changed in Grealish's
@@PythagorasinBoots Grealish's game*
Grealish I think is a far better player than foden. I think Grealish holds onto the ball longer but he gets fouled from it so it does work for him.
@@PythagorasinBoots true but dont agree with the working hard off the ball jack was set targets under steve bruce of hitting running stats of 11km per game also under dean smith hes going to get better and better at those runs in behind because thats what the knew gaffer wants its something know other villa manager has asked from him so hes had the end of last season to adjust to that and scored 4 goals in 10 games but jacks more of a box to box midfielder now anyway whilst i think foden will be more of a 10 so challenging sterling whilst jack would be challenging dele alli imo
