DreamWorks' "The Bad Guys" has been called a breath of fresh air for the studio. Filled with great characters, fun action and spectacular animation, there's a lot to love about "The Bad Guys". It's safe to say that we wouldn't mind seeing this gang again, and that's certainly a possibility. DreamWorks is known for its film franchises as well as its TV shows, and there are plenty of plots from the Bad Guys graphic novels to choose from too, so there's a pretty good chance that we could get a follow-up. So we have to wonder, what sort of plots could we expect from a Bad Guys sequel?

Another thing you missed on your theory at 3:59 is that the Bad Guys are framed and are forced to to underground. Also the Wolf X Diane relationship could work, Dreamworks has done romances in the past from a major plot point (Megamind) to a subplot (Madagascar 3) to hints of a romance (Kung Fu Panda 2), the thing is they would need to make sure that hey don’t undermine Diane’s character from the first film.

I was actually really expecting to see mr. Wolf and Diane get together in the movie, but it didn't end up happening. Hopefully it happens in the sequel.🐺🦊❤

I would like to see a origin story of all the characters. It would be very interesting to see how the bad guys became bad and met. From tarantula learning to hack to snake missing his birthday.
It could be like a short, or a 1 hour long prequel and meeting, 10 minutes for each Character and the last 10 for them meeting

That’s more of a prequel than a sequel, but I see what you’re going for

I think for the sequel of The Bad Guys they should develop the relationship of Diane and Mr Wolf, also I think that for the sequel they should bring a new and better villian, and brand new challenges for them.
I for one like the almost-relationship between Wolf and Diane - they're cute
And yeah, they should bring in a serious villain
How about a diabolical mastermind type of villain that is antagonistic from the moment he is introduced, looks scary, & stays evil with no redeeming traits whatsoever?
I also think that it would be cool if they do what they used to do when they were bad but for a got reason; example: they steal a diamond from someone that stole it, and they steal it to give it back.

As a bad guys book enjoyer, they could make the multiverse arc become a movie, they could mix ALL of this ideas into one with this arc. Snake becoming bad, Diane and Wolf's relationship, and the bad guys becoming the international league of heroes. Also including the REAL international league of heroes would be great
I dunno if snake would go back to being bad after his development in the first movie, unless another threat forcesor brainwashes him
A growing relationship between Wolf and Diane could work, as long as the writing and execution makes it feel natural and not forced.
Having Snake go completely bad again would retcon the 1st film; but having him still struggle with it in areas in the sequel could work...
Maybe having a bit more focus on Shark, Tarantula and Pirahna wouldn't hurt 🤷♂️
And it would make sense to have a new villian, rather than a recurring one; it can work in other series and films, but maybe not with The Bad Guys.
In the end, it all boils to the writing and direction. If the sequel is made, and it's not good, they'll hear about it

Shark, Tarantula, and Piranha could use more screen time
I would love to see more of Diane and Tarantula spending time together, especially after the final chase scene
I agree having a relationship between wolf and Diane could work as long as it is still a laugh for kids I also agree with you on all the things you said like snake going bad again and having shark and tarantula and especially piranha having more spot light would go well

Some time has passed since they were free. Starts with Wolf and Diane together. Maybe on a date or friendly date or something. Wolf doing a recap or flashback from the last film while they are having fun, spending their time together. Rest of the gang doing their thing, trying to do good. Introduction of the villain, who looks up at the work and accomplishments of TBG but despised them due to turning good and swore to take them down due to being "rip-offs/weak". Huge chaos which resulted in the "separation" of TBG which could also open the door for Shark, Piranha, and Tarantula to shine. Marmalade could be tossed into the mix, possibly revealing that he was an alien (according to the books) but idk, sounds way too off xD. Fight off with The "New" Bad Guys, dramatic scene with Wolf and Diane, TNBG is defeated, everybody shares a moment. Wolf and Diane could get married, or at best be a couple.

nah nah nah, Diane would never be reduced as nothing. They are partners, and they are equals. The love between them would never reduce her to nothing.
The "Snake being Jealous" thing is a fun idea, but is not a love triangle, since he isn't in love with Wolf and has no deep relationship with Diane.
How to fix this, is to make Snake and Diane interact more in the sequel, make Wolf a bit jealous maybe, and Diane being the voice of reason and say that "the three of them make a perfect team"
Wolf and Diane as life and love partners, Wolf and Snake being the best bros of the history, and Diane and Snake being confidants and the 'protect Wolf squad'

I think mixing 0:59 and 2:47 with 7:06 as a subplot
Some of the potential story lines sound interesting while others do sound out of place. Usually, I treat the books the film is inspired from as an alternative story line so that way it's easier to separate them. Some of these ideas could work and some wouldn't. The possibilities for the Bad Guys are endless! Besides checking out Lupin III, I recommend checking out a TV show called Leverage as well.
If they want to make a sequel they can do a tv series of some sort, as it will allow them to use as many ideas as they want without making endless movie sequels like the land before time did. Also Exploring Wolf and Diane's relationship is a good idea.

I think the 2nd movie could have a new and stronger villain (or a vengeful marmalade), a longer running time, and a love story between Diane and Mr. wolf. possibly a wedding as finale, or confirmed romantic relationship, but not to put all the focus on that aspect. If that is the case for #2, I will be happy they didn't rush a relationship in #1. Though I was still a little disappointed because you can clearly see the signs of romance between them. A snake struggling to adjust to the "good life" could be a good plot device as well. He was clearly struggling greatly already. even though he redeemed himself, I can see some further conflict ahead.
I think a follow up TV series would be better as it would allow freedom for more of these ideas to happen
Furthermore for the first idea about them facing a another group of villains I see Wolf taking a genuine proactive approach to redeeming one of not all of these new villains or something to that effect

Gotta say, I'm itching for Dreamworks to announce a sequel already. As for Diane, while a part of me does like her version in the movie better than her version in the books, I do hope that they would have her lean more into her book version for the sequel. One idea I have is that the sequel is to start off with Diane and Kitty from the books work together as a pair of thieves. but Kitty decides that she wants to go good and pleads for Diane to join her, but she refuses causing a rift between them. Then in the present day, Kitty would reluctantly agrees to let Diane join the organization she founded, the International League of Heroes, after the rest of the members vouched for Diane's inclusion. Then when the Bady Guys hear about Diane's new position, they decide to ramp up their do-gooding to show the League that they're worthy of being a part of them. But then Marmalade escapes from prison and is out for revenge. There would also be a subplot where Diane tries to make up to Kitty for refusing to go with her, but she is still bitter over that.
I actually kinda wanna see Diane's dynamics more, not just with Wolf but the whole Bad Guys group, she's been a lone wolf (hah) her whole life, so it could have interesting development seeing her adopted into the gang now. Is she big sister to Webs, a rival to Snake, etc, etc?
I think that the Bad Guys become Heroes plot mixed with the International League of Heroes plot would sound good of the sequel, but where Professor Marmalade is an alien, I think it could good for the 3rd movie.

I made two new characters of my own if they appear in the sequel
Mr Badger:
Uses a recording device to get the guards whisper a secret code or voice activating devices to unlock things and at the end to play Marmalade's plans to the public and got him arrested. Mr Badger is the only kid of the gang who is 10 years old and is a good kid with a bad streak, he also looks up to Mr Wolf as a father figure/ big brother. His voice actor should be Ravi Cabot-Conyers who voiced Antonio from Encanto.
Ms Tiger:
A tiger working for Diane Foxington as an undercover spy for the bad guys after they had been released from jail for a whole year. I watched Brooklyn 99 and I thought that Ms Tiger should be voiced by the actress who played Amy Santiago. Melissa Fumero.

I’d say what the sequel should have (In my opinion), is Diane & Wolf’s developing romantic relationship (if done right, will be an interesting sub-plot, while still being linked to the philosophical themes), he and his friends facing more sinister and diabolical villains, while facing a new challenge for character arcs, and new, unique philosophical conflicts and themes. 👍🎬🕶

What I'd like to see - opening scene: Marmalade getting arrested, and as he's being taken in a guard realises that the crimson paw was taller, had more of a canine/feline shape, so they help him get out of prison, and Marmalade goes into hiding, his reputation having been destroyed, and begins to plot his revenge against Wolf and his gang, as well as Diane, then we cut to a scene which says '1 year later', which starts with the first film's ending scene.
Why would I want such a crazy opening? Because how on earth was a GUINEA PIG mistaken for the crimson paw when the crimson paw was a FOX? I just want that to be recognised in the sequel lmao.

The alien plotline while strange might happen if a sequel were to come cause they kinda already set up the groundwork with the asteroid true it was destroyed but they never explored its origin and where it came from it just was used as a plot driver maybe they can explore it more in the sequel maybe another thing falls from the sky as a message to marmalade saying to act now, come clean and reveal yourselves and after he is revealed to be an alien the bad guys have to fight him yet again more powerful than ever before

I think one good opening plot arc in the sequel movie would be the former Bad Guys trying and struggling to adjust to everyday law-abiding citizen life. Finding and getting a job for each of them is difficult enough, keeping and holding down a job of any kind is the biggest challenge for all five of them.

Also in part 2 put in piranha dies and comes back. Say piranha broke the spell by kicking the wand out of queen Emras hands and the wand goes crazy however the wands magic tied him up where he couldn't move anything but his legs and the wands tentacles were squeezing him so hard that he fell to his death. When everyone worked together to get him out it worked but they were devisteade to see piranha laying down with his eyes close and no breathing. Wf putted a flower on piranhas heart and showed him some love then everyone started crying. But after a few seconds of crying piranha begins to wake up his eyes really slow and then he started to move his feet and then he starts breathing and then he lifted the arm closets to wolf and piranha rubbed wolf's back and Trantula says wolf look at your back and piranha keeps rubbing then wolf looked at piranha. Then piranha woke up his eyes fully and then wolf starts to smile and piranha looks around and says what what's happening here then piranha shouts wolf then wolf starts to laugh and shouts piranha and starts to hug him and everyone gathered around and then daine foxington turns piranha into a pertecter for having the confident to fight back after being trapped in the necklace of pertection and then kicking the wand and breaking the spell we love this idea

( even some showing how the bad guys as kids )
And as they finally head back to the modern day

But they look at marmalade with fear

*MUTATED* ( because I’d imagine going through multiple portals would mess up anyone )
And he looks horrific ( picture a giant green version of him with tentacles for limbs and 7 eyes )
But the bad guys are saved by Dian foxington ( because she has been looking to the bad guys every where along with the police chief )
They get into mr wolfs car and speed off ( with a raged marmalade behind them )
And as they think they lost him
Marmalade jumps out of nowhere
And eats the car ( don’t worry the bad guys Dian and cat are ok )
As the “bad” guys run away from marmalade and to the police mr snake gets a idea
And after one brain storm later ( mr snake idea )
They set up a trap for marmalade
And the bait is mr wolf ( because he’s the first who wanted to be good )
As mr wolf was bait marmalade came out from a sewer and charged at him
Only to be rapidly shot at by the military ( why idk plot )
And one big boom later
Marmalade is knocked out and taken away to a mental Asylum
And as the bad guys head home and watch the news favour a new bird being discovered ( aka the prehistoric bird )
Mr snake thinks about eating a push pop
But then zoom to the fridge …….
And the push pop crashes out of the fridge and into snake tail hand ?

You should do a part 2 and put in piranha gets trapped in a necklace. Say queen Emra is about to get trapped in a necklace and she grabs her wand and aims it at piranha and the wands magic tie his feet together and piranha trips and wolf tries to help him but their hands kept slipping and piranha goes in the necklace we absolutely love this idea

The bad guys ended on a proper conclusion without a cliffhanger so I doubt there will be sequel the bad guys has shorts and tv shows for television it's unlikely for a novel movie to get a sequel due to its honest reviews
I dont even know how wicked binge thought that would have mixed opinions on diane and wolfs relationship like ive seen videos on the 2 lovers and everyone in comments saying that they are perfect and that no one would be upset if they did become a thing.
Like 90% of people who talk about them say they would love the idea of them becoming a thing or even get married.

Would be funny to see the Bad Guys jump into heroism, but I don't think the public will forget right away their past misdeeds. Their actions could make the police redundant and get egg all over Misty's face. I'm not sure if the Bad Guys would want to join the International League of Heroes or become something better than them. I wouldn't be surprised if the Bad Guys returned to their bad habits after what happened in "The Bad Guys in Maraschino Ruby". The Bad Guys going bad again also reminds me of the plot of Scott Lang from Ant-Man. To be bad constantly Mr. Snake would've had to have had a pretty dark past that makes it difficult to let go of his bad habits. I highly doubt that Marmalade would transform because narcissists don't easy change their stripes or spots.

Maybe they could have Milton the Velociraptor appear in the sequel, he is the last member of the bad guys to join them in the books.
Or what if the bad guys have to steal something from a villain but in a way they save the world because the thing they stole was something the villain needed to take world and with that macguffin gone the villain is not able to take over the world. Plus what if the villain had it where their record is so clean that the police both domestic and international can’t touch them and by the time the domestic and international police get an arrest warrant it is too late the villain is unstoppable at that point where they could decimate domestic and international police and militaries at that point?
If that were to be true than it would be a job for the bad guys since police have to go through a lot of red tape, proper police procedures, and due process of law before they can arrest someone but the bad guys can do more pragmatic approaches the save the world from the new villain or villains.
The Bad Guys could be like heroic thieves in the sequel movie like Lupin III and his friends or the Sly Cooper Gang are in their series.

For 1 and 2, how about calling it down the middle, introduce the International League of Heroes BEFORE they turned good, starting off a rival gang to oppose the Bad Guys that they have to defeat and reform? It could even tie into 4, since while Wolf is Diane's foil (and Marmalade counting a villain), the other Bad Guys could be counterparts to the remaining ILOH members.
I do agree on the whole 'Snake or other Bad Guys turning bad again' plot risking being repetitive, and would only really work if they did something creative with it rather than just undoing and replaying their development from the first film. Your idea of a role reversal with Diane being blackmailed is interesting though, especially since Diane would not only likely be the most guilt ridden member to forcibly turn heel again, but also the most dangerously powerful.
Here’s the story that I want.
The plot is about we’re the good guys become heroes to stop marmalade’s plot to destroy the world. Also I want to see Mr. Wolf and Diane get together as a couple.
