I could listen to Hal Blaine all day. I can see why he was so successful, beyond his talent, he sees the the good in everyone and is so respectful and appreciative. It’s wonderful hearing the details behind the music I grew up with, the anonymous players who now have faces I can relate to when I hear Be My Baby, or Bridge Over Troubled Water. Hal’s contribution was enormous.
I seldom mourn for too long the passing of anyone...However, as a drummer and a guy who appreciates one unique persona who was all class and easy going as it gets and taught me among all considerations, drumming is just plain fun, I am always thinking of Blaine whenever picking up a stick or so much as listening to a song in which the drums are up front. Few in life are "one of a kind"...but Hal Blaine was such one of a kind and I do miss him.
True words....we all miss Hal & grateful for all the wonderful music, inspiration & of course his jokes he gave us! Thanks for subscribing to our channel!
The great Hal Blaine. He brought something very important to the musical table: an ear and feel for music. Being a good reader is important, but with out the ear and feel, music will always fall short of it's full potential. Thanks for posting and God bless!
Thanks Dom, already subscribed. Missed NAMM this year, will make it in 2018. Will be drumming for Bobby Kimball and Bill Champlin this year for The Rock Pack Classic Rock Series (KDIM Entertainment) at the Germaine Arena February 18th in Fort Myers Florida, a short drive from home, just to mention. Stay in touch. God bless.
