Your metrics are reductive. If one half of a comedy team seems to do better when they split, then they were clearly the talented one, carrying the other. The only goal now is edginess. Crude assumptions, both.
Here's the reality check: many people couldn't understand what the hell was supposed to be funny about Curb when it first came out, but Seinfeld's stand-up became regarded as classic. It wasn't 'edgy', and never tried to be. Finally, Burr and Chapelle would agree with everything he said here.

An important thing to know about All In the Family: In the show's first season there was a big backlash against Archie Bunker's racism from liberal critics. They appreciated that he was being held up for ridicule, but they thought the racism was just too crude to be platformed on prime time television. The producers listened. After the first season Bunker's right wing political rants had lost a lot of their hateful edge, and the character became much more likable, or at least tolerable. So Jerry's idea that television comedy in the 70s was utterly free of social constraints is nonsense.

The context here is that troublesome economics in an extremely fragmented media landscape is taking a toll on an era known as "peak TV." Still. 500+ shows is a lot of choice and if the market called for more sitcoms, the market would respond accordingly. On a separate note, my daughter recently graduated from UCLA and I was dismayed to hear about Jessica Seinfeld (and billionaire Bill Ackman) funding counter-protestors on the campus. I do get regular email updates from UCLA as a parent and I did read a NY Times article claiming the counter protestors were the aggressors in recent clashes....all very sad.

He has openly said he doesn’t believe that’s a thing. He has said that he still listens to old Cosby (lol) stand up jokes and finds them just as funny today as when he first heard them and has compared listening to a good joke like watching your favourite movie or seeing a legendary sports play. He’s made millions off comedy and is out of touch with reality thinking he’s just entitled to laughs now because the fact he’s rich proves he just knows what’s funny better than anyone else…so he can’t possibly be the problem.
