I played 5e extensively and Larian has fixed/improved SO MUCH with the races and classes of DnD. The fact people right now are saying "I'm excited to play Fighter/Monk" is a miraculous accomplishment.
Ranger too, pure caster multiclassing, etc. It's not absolutely perfect but what Larian has accomplished in a relatively short span of time WHILE ALSO BUSY BUILDING A GREAT GAME.... just incredible, honestly.
What blew me away was the sheer variety of options you have to approach any situation, not just technically from a gameplay perspective but even narratively, limited only by your imagination. Many games boast of multiple approaches to a situation, but none have done it quite like Larian Studios have pulled off here. MINOR SPOILER AHEAD For example, I came across two followers of The Absolute mourning their dead leader, who was attacked by an owlbear. I convinced the two to get revenge against the owlbear. I followed them into the cave, popped a potion that let me speak to animals, then I intervened in the fight, convinced the owlbear that I would help it against the two intruders *I sent*, killed them and the owlbear let me take one of it's eggs without ripping me to ribbons. That was one of at least 5 approaches and outcomes I tested using save scumming on a single character. I have no doubt that there's even more ways to approach that particular situation for an entirely new outcome. It honestly blew my mind. What a game. What an experience.

Depends on your PC, it seems. Mortismal has a bit of older equipment, and has run into game breaking bugs and drops in frame rate, mostly in part 2 and 3 of the game (they probably will be fixed before most people reach that point, that said).
One bug I’d consider game breaking is I couldn’t save, I played 5 hours straight… then couldn’t save. I got that issue fixed but that SUCKED. It didn’t auto-save either.
This year is packed with such amazing releases, everytime a big release happens I think it's gonna win goty, only to see it be one-upped again and again. (At least up until totk, but we got some legit candidates with this and ffxvi and hopefully armored core)
To be honest, in a game this large and complex, I was 100% expecting there to be bugs in the final product. That they are so relatively few and so small is nothing less than a miracle IMHO.
Well.. it not only took GOTY in multiple awards, but went on a rampage at both the "golden joystick awards" and "game awards" 700 hours later, still loving it. What an unbelievably good game
I'm quite amazed by the controller support honestly. I am playing on my TV and as a side effect of having controllers, they made the keyboard mouse fonts so small I have to play with controller now. And it's not disappointing at all. Same freedom and same easy to navigate feel as it is in DOS 2.

The main thing I didn't like about Divinity 2 is how lost I got,the map didn't help either,there's just so much to do I picked up every quest but had no idea where to go so skipped a lot of quests due to map not telling me exactly what I'm supposed to do. I had like hundreds of map pointers as reminders and felt overwhelmed. The game was long so I quit for a few months and went back and had no clue what was I doing,the story was forgettable. At the end of the game I just killed every faction/npc thinking all of them are evil how confusing the story got because opening the journal was just bugs everywhere,showing me 'unread' markers on quests I already done. The journal itself was confusing you didn't know what you read,what was new and old info,none of it made any sence.There was green text that I already read and the new info wasn't even marked as green to begin with. The whole journal wasn't numerated and a big mess giving you random text of the storyline not from the start to beggining but from the middle to end to beggining. Does BG3 have actual quest markers on the map where to go so you wont skip a quest and actual journal with numerals 1.2.3. of what to do and ------ line or a check mark V over what you already done.Otherwise it will be just another shitshow of me running around the map without any clue whats going on,picking up every quest and talking to every npc,skipping all those quests cuz it's annoying to run around the same map 1000 times.
i hope it don't have quest markers, they are horrible, in skyrim u can even know the hidden location of a object without needing to hunt it no....i hope the devs never add quest marker for specific stuff only "general areas" like "quest is around that area" but u have to still search for it. but i belive divinity original sin 1/2 have a "hide completed quests" check box in the options no?
DOS2 was average game with tons of stupid decisions/unfixed errors. I regret paying like 30 euros for it and now they charge 60 for pretty much a mod for that very same game. You should expect everything you mentioned lol. I'll wait until price drops or I can dl it from a very legal website.

Look... I'm going to buy to this. Just becaues it's a real video game. It's made for people who play video games not a shareholder. There's No microtransactions, no online stores, no censorship. I'm 100% in.
I'm actually a fan of narration. Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire had narration, and I liked it in that game. I know everyone wasn't a fan of that narrator, but I liked her voice in Deadfire. Narration was a good part of that game.
Glad to see all this positive opinions on the game, I purchased it back when they first went on Early Access a couple of years ago. Bold to say this will win GOTY for sure in a year where we have Zelda which is already out so we know the quality and popularity, and Starfield which isn't out yet but if it deliveres on expectations then it would no doubt be GOTY contender
Zelda wins game of the year and game of the year means nothing. It’s a great game. Incredible even, it is the same exact game as breath of the wild.different plot.
Yeah, zelda is not a contender. Sameish game with many performance issues. Even nintendo shills and fanboys have limits. I can see starfield winning though.

Please make the no romance guide. I don't mind it being there. But I don't want to constantly have to be dodging it at the same time. Romancing in RPGs should be something you have to work on with a character. Not something you have to consciously be aware of and avoid.

It's a sign of the times. We're now at the point where platonic interest or friendships are undermined a "will they, won't they" go further... as if the next steps in friendship are romantic. Now in BG3, be careful not to be nice to your male friends, they may want to sleep with you.😅

In Ancient Greece, Rome, China, Japan, and even the oldest civilization we have records from Mesopotamia, close friendships often involved some level of romance. In a very real sense, isn’t the only difference between a genuine friendship and a genuine love the fact that you’re sleeping with one but not the other? To the ancient people, this line was much blurrier. Friendship and love were close to the same.
I haven't played a game that feels like this since Dungeon Seige 2 back in the day. It's a breath of fresh air! Also, I'd love to see the how to not romance guide. 😂
The only major bug I've encountered, that didn't resolve itself by opening a menu or something, was where combat started while Lae'zel was in conversation and it would not let me attack or end her turn. The only way to resolve it was a reload. But since the latest patch, I've had zero issues. All of the gameplay and story stuff is amazing no doubt. But this is the first game since the Bioware/Black Isle days, with few exceptions, where I truly feel like I'm IN Faerûn. It's absolutely incredible what they've done here.
Damn they improved so much from early access it’s crazy! We only played for like 5 hours but it was so good already, even tho we did act 1 before. New ui, new options everywhere, new dialogs , finally all races and subclasses, all runs smooth with some minor bugs (2 black screens for 2 sec after cutscenes), damn it’s awesome
i was impressed with how much was changed sometimes i did not even recognize some parts of the map for example in the starting Area even the first fights was changed 100%
New to your channel but great work TY. Going to grab this game soon was just waiting to see if launch was equal to expectations. On Romance was dipping into a a streamers channel and saw a scene where you enter a barn with NPC's in a moment, almost choked on my coffee. Too funny.
One of the best games I have veer played. Maybe the best. It's just nostalgia will always keep a few games from years past in the top positions as well, but this game makes me feel like a kid playing video games again. No game has done that in well over a decade. It is truly glorious. It does the things I want from a game, and focuses on the things that should be focused on.
I love romance and sex scenes! That's why I love Catherine full body and that's one of the reasons why I'm buying this game for the PS5 when it comes out. I used to go to school to become a relationship therapist but now I'm just working on the UA-cam channel so I'm excited for all things romance sex. I'm "BRICKED" most of the time haha 😍😍

I've started playing on PS5 couch coop and it has unfortunately not been a smooth experience - we'll move over to single screen coop to see how it does, but it has delayed things a bit. Appreciate the patience!
Definitely adding more classes and races overtime and I’d imagine some dlc or additional side quests and interactions. The max level in dnd is 20 so potential level cap increases down the road could be considered and this was Larians biggest launch by far. They’re going to support this for a while until DOS:3 and BG4 eventually. But that’s about 6 & 10 years out respectively
Between this, Starfield, Armored Core 6, and let's not forget Tears of the Kingdom, this is gonna be a VERY stacked year at the game awards. I doubt this will win Game of the Year just because some of those others (especially Tears of the Kingdom) have MASSIVE fan bases. But RPG of the year? Absolutely!
The story of Baldur's Gate is basically as old as the pen and paper / D&D universe itself. Since the first Baldur's Gate was released, it has almost single-handedly transported the pen and paper feeling into the digital world. BG2 has made it even more extensive and a bit more interesting. Since then, many games have tried to put this feeling into their own projects. We basically all know them. Skyrim, Witcher, etc. One studio that discovered the feature of consequences for itself was the young studio Quantic Dream. With Fahrenheit, the sequels Heavy Rain, beyond two souls and finally Detroit Become Human. So many different ways to tell your own story where certain people can die right at the beginning. With Skyrim, it was the variety and design of the avatar. And of course to some extent the story too. The world feels tangible and comprehensible. And now, over 20 years later, after 3 years of Early Access, the long-awaited Baldur's Gate 3 is coming out. What I (we) had hoped for was actually the same as in BG2, only with more story and interesting characters and, of course, enormous freedom of choice. What we didn't think, however, was that Larian Studios had overdone it in every phase of what was humanly possible, to the point that it leaves you speechless after the first 10 hours. Wow, even the Early Access phase doesn't even come close to doing the finished product justice. I can't find the words to describe how deeply grateful I am personally to be able to consume something like this. In times of spectacular disasters and the worst games ever released, BG3 stands out so much from the crowd that you can't ignore it. UA-cam, Instagram, Twitter, Metacritic, every platform agrees. BG3 The Best F... Game of The Year. And I for one am glad that there are people out there like Naughty Dog, From Software and Larian Studios who still dare to do something and produce games for gamers and not primarily for the shareholders. And what have we learned from games like BG3? Well, that you just need a leader in steel armor who runs around the studio the whole time and motivates his employees to do the same. Please Larian, don't lose your fire like Blizzard or Activision. Because then you'll quickly end up in the top 10 worst games on Steam and who wants that? I'm happy to be able to consume content like this and I'm excited to see what else Larian will conjure up. Fill me with magic and take me with you wherever it may lead. Love lots of love and a 12/10 for the best adventure in my gaming history. 180 hours for one RUN btw.

Ive been playing a drow and love how npc comment on what am i doing on the surface? I played older dnd games and was disappointed that nobody noticed my heritage. Very immersing
Based on what I'm seeing it has a strong chance at winning rpg of the year and could get nominated for goty. I don't think it'll win though. I imagine a lot of the jury won't have played it because of the time commitment and the more complex game systems present. Not saying it shouldn't win. Just saying it's unlikely imo.
I had realize so subtly that the game reacted different to the player depending on which character you were playing or moving around as well entering the exact same area after a save and re-entering the same area. Was exploring a bit and had a scenario by a bridge with a dragon and crew. I knew I was most likely going to die as they were way higher lvl than my party. The scenario played out in which they were ordered to kill me in the end how it played out. So on reload, entered same area but just simply changed the direction I approached the people in area with dragon. The cutscene played out completely different than the first as well with a dice roll. I was like Whoa 😮! I won the dice roll which had a high difficulty and the rest of scene played out completely different and no combat happened. It left me able to loot the entire area of goodies and it was there adjacent to area where I realized the game Act also changes crossing a path where the game ask you are you sure you want to proceed without tying up all loose ends.
Same with the performance for me, zero fps drops, zero stuttering, no blackouts. Zilch. Of course it will vary system to system but I'm surprised it turned out this way for me.
I haven't played a second of Baldur's Gate 3 and I'm tempted to pick it up now I played the Divinity Original Sin games so I'm sure I'll enjoy this, but mostly I want to know what made you say that this will win GOTY with such conviction, when Tears of the Kingdom also released this year... That's a huuuge hurdle to clear!

I love the custom portrait of your own tav character it make it look like an origin character, instead of some generic faceless pic. The romance part is funny that you say there need to be a guide to dodge it and not mess up, also insane how you can go full nude mode while other games these days love to censored that.
Larian are European, and nudism is still a very strong movement over here, we have lots of Beach, hotels, resorts specialized in it. Nudists French beach are full to the brim with Belgian and German people!
I noticed that too. I was commenting on my friends' party that all of the portraits look like they were made really artistically. It doesn't feel like just a quick headshot grab of the model. They've done a great job in making them look like they're important characters.
Dragon Age Origins gave me that impression too- played it a bit recently, hence why I'm thinking of it. Your character looks- mostly, like its party and looks the part of a hero. Also, you're so right about the release version, don't know what exactly they tweaked, but it just feels different - in the way you underline. It's the detail that did strike me about the change in UI.
Tears of the Kingdom says hello. And the Tears of the Kingdom sweeps most Awards shows. This is very strong for RPG of the year. Unless this year is a first.
I got into this game because my Uncle recommended Baldur’s Gate 3. I started as a male Half Elven Ranger who romance Shadowheart because I’m into dark haired woman, even though she dyed her hair white after she spared the Nightsong. But I’m also attracted to women with white hair as well as red heads and blondes. I usually bring Karlach and Gale into my team because Cloud of Daggers is the best spell of the game. If I’m in the mood to replay this game again, I could either play as either a female Tiefling Paladin who romances Astarion, a male Half Orc Fighter who romances Karlach or a female Drow Sorcerer who romances Gale.
I am downloading the game now. I don´t know how long character creation will take. Firstly what race and class will take for ever. Then Dark Urge or not (I don´t want too play origin character as first run). Then what proficiency has too be decided. Then modeling the character. Yeah its going too take time. I have a few classes i likely will try out and a few racese i am more interested in and so forth. But the combinations are still many even with thos restrictions. Finally started playing Baldur’s Gate 3, it plays ostensibly identical to Divinity: Original Sin 2… but with a far worse combat system! I look forward to modders implementing DOS2 combat mechanics into this game.

It’s been one hell of a year for games for sure. I can’t wait for the fall and play Lies of P , BG3, hopefully Assassin’s Creed Mirage is good, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Diablo 4, Dead Island 2 to me were such compelling games
Not a fan of romance and relationships in games anymore. It was fine when the first Mass Effect and Dragon's Age did it but now it just seems very gratuitous and developers trying to shock people as much as they can. It should clearly be an available option but one that you have to dig for and not just happen upon.
Honestly the only bugs i have encountered is maybe the ai takes a min to process its turn and an audio bug where the sound cuts out. The audio was fixed a day after it was found and enemies are a bit faster. Love this company best 80 bucks i spent.
I wish they made tactical shooters like this. Gritty, dark and realistic, but with the same passion and perfectionism as this game. I'm so in awe by how well this game is made, yet so put of by the style of it. I just can't take it serious when a different race is simply a human with red, green, purple or whatever skin color and of course horns. It reminds me of low-budged 90s TV series and feels more like a weird musical or play. The simple sight of dices in a game makes me through up in my mouth. Then again, i always hated boardgames, yet i understand the appeal it has to many people. I just wish they made the kind of games i enjoy with the same quality. Truely a game changer!
Bug that's affected me the most is the pact of the blades pact weapons , and a bit the illithid tree. So I summon a pact greatsword, and after every long rest I have to resummon the weapon that is currently still in my hand (note it doesnt say long rest duration on summon pact weapon, only bind). Once bound it should stay bound, and if you have the illithid talent that gives you + to hit on first attack roll, you have to take your pact weapon off and put it back on after every single encounter. It's been hellish to try to remember -_-
Okay I NEED an answer to this. Are there any companions beyond what Larian revealed? Dont need spoilers about it or anything, just a yes or no will suffice.
10:20 I thought it was pretty obvious when an NPC was being romantic, and true to how it works in real life - the player just needs to ask themselves "Would I like my romantic partner to be doing this?", and then you stop if the answer is no. For instance, when a character is gazing into your eyes and you're given the option "This feels too intimate", I think it's pretty obvious.
This game is absolutely 10/10 for me, but I have two issues that should get simple fixes soon: 1. no chatbox and 2. that stupid version showing below my minimap. Now about them bugs, I have played tons of DOS1 and 2, they were also released with bugs, some of those got fixed over the years, and Larian have released a definitive edition on both cases (free of charge) that included more content when the game finally reached a almost perfect bug-free state. If they lapidated BG3 to perfection, it would take too long to be released and I rather play it now with these bugs than later.
im in act 3 and Jesus the game is huge definitely missed some stuff early game didn't realise you couldn't go back looking forward to being a pure evil bard next time.

The few bugs mentioned sounded fairly game breaking.
Not being able to select a cantrip after customization sounds like the worst offender here.

You don't see it too often, but this game seems to be generating the same type buzz we got when Elden Ring came out.

I'm actually a fan of narration. Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire had narration, and I liked it in that game. I know everyone wasn't a fan of that narrator, but I liked her voice in Deadfire. Narration was a good part of that game.
Love the narrator and the way she voiced acted. Her outtakes were fun too
Glad to see all this positive opinions on the game, I purchased it back when they first went on Early Access a couple of years ago. Bold to say this will win GOTY for sure in a year where we have Zelda which is already out so we know the quality and popularity, and Starfield which isn't out yet but if it deliveres on expectations then it would no doubt be GOTY contender

Please make the no romance guide. I don't mind it being there. But I don't want to constantly have to be dodging it at the same time. Romancing in RPGs should be something you have to work on with a character. Not something you have to consciously be aware of and avoid.
When a character expresses interest in you, shut them down. Just like in real life.

It's a sign of the times. We're now at the point where platonic interest or friendships are undermined a "will they, won't they" go further... as if the next steps in friendship are romantic. Now in BG3, be careful not to be nice to your male friends, they may want to sleep with you.😅

This is a genre shaping game. We haven't seen a game of this magnitude since Skyrim in 2011.
Naked barbarian run is now mandatory
The only major bug I've encountered, that didn't resolve itself by opening a menu or something, was where combat started while Lae'zel was in conversation and it would not let me attack or end her turn. The only way to resolve it was a reload. But since the latest patch, I've had zero issues.
All of the gameplay and story stuff is amazing no doubt. But this is the first game since the Bioware/Black Isle days, with few exceptions, where I truly feel like I'm IN Faerûn. It's absolutely incredible what they've done here.

Damn they improved so much from early access it’s crazy! We only played for like 5 hours but it was so good already, even tho we did act 1 before. New ui, new options everywhere, new dialogs , finally all races and subclasses, all runs smooth with some minor bugs (2 black screens for 2 sec after cutscenes), damn it’s awesome
i was impressed with how much was changed sometimes i did not even recognize some parts of the map for example in the starting Area even the first fights was changed 100%
New to your channel but great work TY. Going to grab this game soon was just waiting to see if launch was equal to expectations. On Romance was dipping into a a streamers channel and saw a scene where you enter a barn with NPC's in a moment, almost choked on my coffee. Too funny.
One of the best games I have veer played. Maybe the best. It's just nostalgia will always keep a few games from years past in the top positions as well, but this game makes me feel like a kid playing video games again. No game has done that in well over a decade. It is truly glorious. It does the things I want from a game, and focuses on the things that should be focused on.
About listening to dialogues. The dialogues and writing are really good. And voice actors does good job too.

I love romance and sex scenes! That's why I love Catherine full body and that's one of the reasons why I'm buying this game for the PS5 when it comes out. I used to go to school to become a relationship therapist but now I'm just working on the UA-cam channel so I'm excited for all things romance sex. I'm "BRICKED" most of the time haha 😍😍

I've started playing on PS5 couch coop and it has unfortunately not been a smooth experience - we'll move over to single screen coop to see how it does, but it has delayed things a bit. Appreciate the patience!

Definitely adding more classes and races overtime and I’d imagine some dlc or additional side quests and interactions. The max level in dnd is 20 so potential level cap increases down the road could be considered and this was Larians biggest launch by far. They’re going to support this for a while until DOS:3 and BG4 eventually. But that’s about 6 & 10 years out respectively
Between this, Starfield, Armored Core 6, and let's not forget Tears of the Kingdom, this is gonna be a VERY stacked year at the game awards.
I doubt this will win Game of the Year just because some of those others (especially Tears of the Kingdom) have MASSIVE fan bases.
But RPG of the year? Absolutely!
The story of Baldur's Gate is basically as old as the pen and paper / D&D universe itself. Since the first Baldur's Gate was released, it has almost single-handedly transported the pen and paper feeling into the digital world. BG2 has made it even more extensive and a bit more interesting. Since then, many games have tried to put this feeling into their own projects. We basically all know them. Skyrim, Witcher, etc. One studio that discovered the feature of consequences for itself was the young studio Quantic Dream. With Fahrenheit, the sequels Heavy Rain, beyond two souls and finally Detroit Become Human. So many different ways to tell your own story where certain people can die right at the beginning. With Skyrim, it was the variety and design of the avatar. And of course to some extent the story too. The world feels tangible and comprehensible. And now, over 20 years later, after 3 years of Early Access, the long-awaited Baldur's Gate 3 is coming out. What I (we) had hoped for was actually the same as in BG2, only with more story and interesting characters and, of course, enormous freedom of choice. What we didn't think, however, was that Larian Studios had overdone it in every phase of what was humanly possible, to the point that it leaves you speechless after the first 10 hours. Wow, even the Early Access phase doesn't even come close to doing the finished product justice. I can't find the words to describe how deeply grateful I am personally to be able to consume something like this. In times of spectacular disasters and the worst games ever released, BG3 stands out so much from the crowd that you can't ignore it. UA-cam, Instagram, Twitter, Metacritic, every platform agrees. BG3 The Best F... Game of The Year. And I for one am glad that there are people out there like Naughty Dog, From Software and Larian Studios who still dare to do something and produce games for gamers and not primarily for the shareholders. And what have we learned from games like BG3? Well, that you just need a leader in steel armor who runs around the studio the whole time and motivates his employees to do the same. Please Larian, don't lose your fire like Blizzard or Activision. Because then you'll quickly end up in the top 10 worst games on Steam and who wants that? I'm happy to be able to consume content like this and I'm excited to see what else Larian will conjure up. Fill me with magic and take me with you wherever it may lead. Love lots of love and a 12/10 for the best adventure in my gaming history. 180 hours for one RUN btw.

Ive been playing a drow and love how npc comment on what am i doing on the surface? I played older dnd games and was disappointed that nobody noticed my heritage. Very immersing

Based on what I'm seeing it has a strong chance at winning rpg of the year and could get nominated for goty. I don't think it'll win though. I imagine a lot of the jury won't have played it because of the time commitment and the more complex game systems present. Not saying it shouldn't win. Just saying it's unlikely imo.
And probably due to the reactions most AAA companies had about BG3...

It’s probably not casual enough. Too complex and huge.
I had realize so subtly that the game reacted different to the player depending on which character you were playing or moving around as well entering the exact same area after a save and re-entering the same area. Was exploring a bit and had a scenario by a bridge with a dragon and crew. I knew I was most likely going to die as they were way higher lvl than my party. The scenario played out in which they were ordered to kill me in the end how it played out. So on reload, entered same area but just simply changed the direction I approached the people in area with dragon. The cutscene played out completely different than the first as well with a dice roll. I was like Whoa 😮! I won the dice roll which had a high difficulty and the rest of scene played out completely different and no combat happened. It left me able to loot the entire area of goodies and it was there adjacent to area where I realized the game Act also changes crossing a path where the game ask you are you sure you want to proceed without tying up all loose ends.
Perfect timing, listening to this using mobile data while the game finishes installation on my SteamDeck haha

Same with the performance for me, zero fps drops, zero stuttering, no blackouts. Zilch. Of course it will vary system to system but I'm surprised it turned out this way for me.

I played the Divinity Original Sin games so I'm sure I'll enjoy this, but mostly I want to know what made you say that this will win GOTY with such conviction, when Tears of the Kingdom also released this year... That's a huuuge hurdle to clear!

I love the custom portrait of your own tav character it make it look like an origin character, instead of some generic faceless pic. The romance part is funny that you say there need to be a guide to dodge it and not mess up, also insane how you can go full nude mode while other games these days love to censored that.
Larian are European, and nudism is still a very strong movement over here, we have lots of Beach, hotels, resorts specialized in it.
Nudists French beach are full to the brim with Belgian and German people!
I noticed that too. I was commenting on my friends' party that all of the portraits look like they were made really artistically. It doesn't feel like just a quick headshot grab of the model. They've done a great job in making them look like they're important characters.
Dragon Age Origins gave me that impression too- played it a bit recently, hence why I'm thinking of it.
Your character looks- mostly, like its party and looks the part of a hero.
Also, you're so right about the release version, don't know what exactly they tweaked, but it just feels different - in the way you underline. It's the detail that did strike me about the change in UI.

1-2 weeks lol. Most of the bugs that were in the beta in 2020 are still in the game.

I got into this game because my Uncle recommended Baldur’s Gate 3. I started as a male Half Elven Ranger who romance Shadowheart because I’m into dark haired woman, even though she dyed her hair white after she spared the Nightsong. But I’m also attracted to women with white hair as well as red heads and blondes. I usually bring Karlach and Gale into my team because Cloud of Daggers is the best spell of the game. If I’m in the mood to replay this game again, I could either play as either a female Tiefling Paladin who romances Astarion, a male Half Orc Fighter who romances Karlach or a female Drow Sorcerer who romances Gale.
I can't wait. Installing it now!

I am downloading the game now. I don´t know how long character creation will take. Firstly what race and class will take for ever. Then Dark Urge or not (I don´t want too play origin character as first run). Then what proficiency has too be decided. Then modeling the character. Yeah its going too take time. I have a few classes i likely will try out and a few racese i am more interested in and so forth. But the combinations are still many even with thos restrictions. The developers themselves said that origin characters and Dark Urge are more fun for later playthroughs, so I'm gonna do custom first.
Finally started playing Baldur’s Gate 3, it plays ostensibly identical to Divinity: Original Sin 2… but with a far worse combat system! I look forward to modders implementing DOS2 combat mechanics into this game.

It’s been one hell of a year for games for sure. I can’t wait for the fall and play Lies of P , BG3, hopefully Assassin’s Creed Mirage is good, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Diablo 4, Dead Island 2 to me were such compelling games
Not a fan of romance and relationships in games anymore. It was fine when the first Mass Effect and Dragon's Age did it but now it just seems very gratuitous and developers trying to shock people as much as they can. It should clearly be an available option but one that you have to dig for and not just happen upon.
I had alot of stutter in the early access, and it is completely gone now. The game runs really smooth. 😊
Honestly the only bugs i have encountered is maybe the ai takes a min to process its turn and an audio bug where the sound cuts out. The audio was fixed a day after it was found and enemies are a bit faster. Love this company best 80 bucks i spent.

I wish they made tactical shooters like this. Gritty, dark and realistic, but with the same passion and perfectionism as this game.
I'm so in awe by how well this game is made, yet so put of by the style of it. I just can't take it serious when a different race is simply a human with red, green, purple or whatever skin color and of course horns. It reminds me of low-budged 90s TV series and feels more like a weird musical or play. The simple sight of dices in a game makes me through up in my mouth. Then again, i always hated boardgames, yet i understand the appeal it has to many people.
I just wish they made the kind of games i enjoy with the same quality. Truely a game changer!

Bug that's affected me the most is the pact of the blades pact weapons , and a bit the illithid tree. So I summon a pact greatsword, and after every long rest I have to resummon the weapon that is currently still in my hand (note it doesnt say long rest duration on summon pact weapon, only bind). Once bound it should stay bound, and if you have the illithid talent that gives you + to hit on first attack roll, you have to take your pact weapon off and put it back on after every single encounter. It's been hellish to try to remember -_-
I'm surprised you didn't mention witcher 3 when trying to find a good comparable choice driven narrative.

Okay I NEED an answer to this. Are there any companions beyond what Larian revealed? Dont need spoilers about it or anything, just a yes or no will suffice.
10:20 I thought it was pretty obvious when an NPC was being romantic, and true to how it works in real life - the player just needs to ask themselves "Would I like my romantic partner to be doing this?", and then you stop if the answer is no. For instance, when a character is gazing into your eyes and you're given the option "This feels too intimate", I think it's pretty obvious.
This game is absolutely 10/10 for me, but I have two issues that should get simple fixes soon: 1. no chatbox and 2. that stupid version showing below my minimap. Now about them bugs, I have played tons of DOS1 and 2, they were also released with bugs, some of those got fixed over the years, and Larian have released a definitive edition on both cases (free of charge) that included more content when the game finally reached a almost perfect bug-free state. If they lapidated BG3 to perfection, it would take too long to be released and I rather play it now with these bugs than later.
im in act 3 and Jesus the game is huge definitely missed some stuff early game didn't realise you couldn't go back looking forward to being a pure evil bard next time.
