The first DoND was based on the OG Dutch version and the first to use the "Deal or No Deal" name. The home viewer format was adopted in the early evening versions with Double Deal Fridays and Dancing with the Deals/My Kitchen Deals specials with celebrities playing for a home viewer
Australia was the first country to buy the format from the Dutch - that's why this version looks like what used to be the Dutch version back in the day. Edit: Just to be clear, this version is reduced from the Dutch by quite a lot: 500 contestants in NL (or even 1000 before 2002) vs 200 in AU; top prize of €5,000,000 vs AU$2,000,000; a bigger budget even for the random spot prizes (for example, the 26th contestant would have been offered a buyout prize instead) and lots of different things. Plus the episode count of 5 or 6 episodes every season (2 seasons per year) in the Netherlands vs a weekly show in Australia.
“This truck is heading towards our studio to deliver its payload of millions of dollars. Amongst all this cold hard cash is one single prize of TWO MILLION DOLLARS. Tonight, one Australian will be playing for that grand prize and making that all important decision: DEAL OR NO DEAL. These 200 people are all contenders. Tonight, in an unprecedented television event, one of them will be playing, for TWO MILLION DOLLARS! Inside these 26 briefcases, are different cash amounts. Some big, some small. Choosing the right case could make one lucky person an INSTANT MULTI-MILLIONAIRE! Who will it be? Let’s find out by welcoming your host, Andrew O’Keefe!”
The quiz fastest finger first rounds should've been put in order questions like who wants to be a millionaire who wants to be a millionaires fastest finger first should only do just normal which answer is correct quizzes
And be4 the DUTCH VERSION ! The ONLY difference in Holland is , that our top case price is €1.000.000 ( 1 million Euros ) , whereas Australia's version is $2.000.000 ( 2 million ) ..... TOP SHOW ! ( I allways thought it was an original Dutch game play !! ) 👍👍💜💞
@@Ballerina2025 It's alright. I was just a bit surprised myself of what you said. But "Postcode Loterij: Miljoenenjacht" is a still a thing in the Netherlands. 😄
This is awesome the 1st episode of Dean Or No Deal Australia is now on UA-cam.

Didn’t even know the Australian version began before the UK version.

It’s amazing that Richard vant riet directed this and then directed most of the Uk episodes from 2005-2011

I think Australia had the first international version of Deal or No Deal
37:38 bank offer 44:34
23:36 final round
42:37 deal
The briefcases seem difficult to open.
12:43 round 3 intro
0:59 scene
26:01 That face is totally meme-worthy.
I believe the highest winner in this format of Deal was Nathan Cochrane who dealt at $515,000
True

3:30 round 1 intro
42:17 scene
I didn’t watch the show when the top prize was $2 million dollars
Why not? $2,000,000 is a great top prize
@@fable9159 because I was only 1-2 years old back then. I wouldn’t have known what was going on. I didn’t become a huge fan until 2009-2010

Before NL? It's the Dutch format - the Dutch version was the first, in 2002. With €5,000,000 as the top value.
