For those that care, J Knox has recovered and is walking normal these days. Wouldn't know he suffered such a devastating injury. He had the choice to try and come back or receive a hefty monthly check from the NFL for the rest of his days. He chose to take the check. Him and his family are well.

So now I have 2 rods in my upper spine with a fusion holding me up and walking again . Then I also had a compound fracture to my left wrist requiring to take that bone and replacing it with a plate . I had a back brace and neck brace on for the longest time . The most toughest recovery i think anyone can go through because your not able to get out of bed on your own and have to have family or loved ones help you out 24/7 after spinal surgery . I forgot to mention I did have nerve damages as well , so my back had this burning feeling because the nerves are damaged trying to connect or recover as well . I remember watching this as a kid and just sitting there horrified. Worst injury I have ever witnessed on TV. A close second was seeing the Zach Miller’s knee go backwards.

I had something of a similar injury, I had my L-4 vertebrae and L-5S1 vertebrae shift laterally while also resulting in a 19x12mm herniation and a 4mm on L-4, my entire right leg went numb and my left upper leg was also number, I had a two-stage spinal fusion it took me almost to feel somewhat like me again, being that I was playing Defensive tackle I then had to stop playing.

I have seen clips on UA-cam of this injury, and I wince every time I see it. I had not heard what the outcome was until now. I thought he might have become a paraplegic, but very glad to hear otherwise. Football is a tough on the body sport.
    Thanks for the video.🇨🇦

I live in Chicago, and while I didn't get to meet him, my dad did at a cheer competition where my sister and his Niece were cheering, years after his injury. He had to walk with a damn cane... at like 30 years old. This is the same guy we loved watching as Bears fans years earlier, now with a cane at thirty. Crazy.

    Off topic question:
What does it mean when you constantly hear cracking in your ankles when you rotate them. Also cracking in your knee when you squat. I’m only 26 years and I fear of major problems later because of these cracking noises. Any advice helps!

Even as a Lions fan, I was a big fan of this dude at the time. Terrible to see what happened to him, it’s probably one of the only injuries I’ve seen in sports that I genuinely have a hard time watching. Glad to read that he is walking, and doing fine with his family.
