I have been looking forward to your review of the Trident as you always approach the unit for live gig use. replaced my Cerberus with the Trident as I wanted everything in one pedal that I would need for a function band style gig & I agree that not having access to Drive or Distortion pedals is something missing that I took for granted. But after 2 gigs I found I didn't need adjust anything as my front of house sound was so similar to the tone I got at home. And the ability to have 3 patches with the ability to bring in individual effect (Chorus, Delay, Boost etc) live is something I didn't realize I needed. No issues at the gig and this is now my sole unit I take for gigging. I am hoping you do a few more vids the same as you did with the Cerberus as its not an easy pedal to get your head round.
Hey. Thx for the comment. So yeah I’ve two more videos planned. One where I go though programming presets and one where I use it with outboard pedals. I do feel it could do with the boosts in the FX section and broader range of OD/dist/fuzz in the drive section. Also a poly pitch thing would be nice but probably not a realistic option at this price.
Awesome demo. You deserve 10k more followers. I think I just saved every single video you've done. First watched your disnortion mini demo, right after I saw it on sale at GC-$50. Didn't pick it up because I already spent myself that day, but I've been interested in a lot of NUX-been wanting the trident, but can't swing it yet. Love the idea of the Matribox 2, been curious about Boss OD-200 since release. Always seemed overlooked. I'm tempted way too often by $90. OD-20's always on Reverb. AND I want all the Mosky M-line. I'm rambling, but every one of your videos has something I've been interested in for years... Underrated/overlooked gear from a likewise channel. Thanks for your effort and info. 👍
Excellent overview Rob! Nice to see you're getting from free stuff the manufacturers, you are now an official influencer! I like the this unit. Externally it reminds me a lot of my Valeton GP-200 , but the Trident's functionality seems a bit easier to manage.
Hey again. I think it’s a little different from the valeton units and the sonicake and mooer etc in that the controls are nearly all surface mounted. I really like that about it. It’s not necessarily better than the large screen and encoder route. It’s just different and I comment them for doing that.
@@TheGuitarEffect I moved mine right after the cab, seemed to the trick for me, also those tones you dialed in for the cover songs sound amazingly close, I have used my Trident live and I really like it, I kinda just have a clean, dirty and lead patch and through a Headrush FRFR and then into the front of house it cuts through the mix very well
I’ll deffo try that. Thx for your kind words. I’ve never used an FRFR cab. My line 6Dt25s allow you to bypass the preamp and use a tube power amp and speaker. Works well with modelers.
I tried the hotone ampero mini and it has same issue with a volume increase when turning on modulation delays and verbs. I usually just save a preset with fx and bank up or down to keep volumes same. I don't mind the volume increase when using od or distortion. I say it's just a cheap unit thing. They still do the job for a fly rig for rehearsals etc.
I have a pair of M Audio BX 3 studio monitors. In which mode (and output) should i use my Trident to get the best output? I am new into these kind of stuff...
@@TheGuitarEffect Hi. Thank you for your response. No i am not plugging it into an audio interface but if it is going to make it better, i also have a Motu M2 audio interface. Which output shuold i use? DI or Unbalanced?
Translate text with your camera This pedalboard does not sound like the other models of its brand. It has a frequency that is in the bass, which makes it very ugly in terms of sound. I'm not sure where that frequency is but it is very noticeable and I find it annoying. If it were for that reason, this model would be very good.
Hey. Thx for the comment. I’m not sure what you mean by translate text with your camera? I can’t say I’ve noticed any problematic frequencies with the trident? So I’m not getting the same thing you are. Interesting though.
@@TheGuitarEffect It sounds like there is a slight saturation in the low frequencies. I noticed you have more videos. Do you change I.R in any of them? Maybe it's the factory impulse response that gives that sound that I don't like.

Hey thx so much for the massively supportive comment. I really appreciate it.
One thing I’d add here is I so t think the OD20 is really a substitute for the OD200. Though it does have a very cool amp switching jack on it.

Sounds great
Cheers mate. I haven’t had it long but I’m liking it so far.
Try moving the tremolo block in the chain, it worked for me bringing down that volume boost
Hey. Thx for the comment. Moving it in which direction?

Hey. Thx for the comment. And thx for watching t tiis video that far! I haven’t found it with any other effect than the trem but it is odd.

Hey. Thx for the comment. So definitely set the output mode to studio direct. Are you plugging the trident into an audio interface?

Hey. Use the DI input I’d say

Hey. I’ve not changed the IRs at all but I’m using an amp in video 3 and I’m changing IRs when I change the amp in video 2
