I don’t have a 370. But I really like the way you make your video. It’s really detailed and I’m sure if someone has that same car. It would be easy for them to follow.
Nice detail! Thank you!
Thanks for the clear instructions bro.
Thanks brother ! you the man !
great vid mate, been wanting to install one on my Z but didnt know how! think i do now!
Work never ends but, sometimes it's fun.
Nice video. I will be curious if I route mine the same way or not. I usually make hard lines for the straight parts and then flexible at the end for vibration purposes. Did you end up with any chafing on the hoses with routing them around the power steering lines the way you did?
I'm also quite unsure why this is happening. I revised the installation for the 3rd time. Besides adding seperator clamps to the lines to avoid less contact and bents on the hoses. The instalation is very similar to your set up and according to z1 instalation instructions. Do you know if this system can potentially make any type of noise?
Correction on some issues, sandwich fitting lines are supposed to point 11 o clock. And NO tread sealer.
Awesome! I'm gonna install mine soon.
Very informative video - how do you get the old oil out of the cooler when you do oil changes?
I have the same kit as you, brackets installed the same but cannot get those clips to line up. The top bracket prevents me from moving the cooler closer towards the support vertical brace to get the last available hole on the bracket's left side to line up. Anything you think is off?
Nice vids man, did you hear a whine noise after the installation when reving ? I just installed mine and there is a whine noise i checked everything and it seems good not sure if the sound is normal or not
The 25 row fits the 2015+ nismo type bumper? Z1 motor sports states that only 34 row will fit on 2015+ nismo bunpers and I see that later on you get that bumper, did it end up fitting?
Dude, im so glad i found your channel! What a great descriptive video on this install. I'm currently planning on doing this in about a week and this video calmed my nerves drastically lol. If i could make one recommendation though, i couldn't tell for sure but it looked like your useing conventional oil? If so trust me and do yourself a huge favor and switch to Mobil 1 Extended Protection. This one has the highest rating for heat. My oil temps got better just by doing this and not having an oil cooler. But if i read it wrong and that Castrol is synthetic then nevermind lol but if not its TOTALLY WORTH IT! Tganks again for making a great video👍 I'm definitely subscribing to your channel. 😁
It was synthetic oil, I only run synthetic in the Z.
Glad you found the video helpful! I try to encourage people to work on their own cars.
@@thecarizon504 Ok cool 👍 I thought it looked like synthetic but i wasnt sure. But yeah, great video man 👍
Such a killer video
Got mine, exactly like yours for my G, but couldn't finish the installation because my 1" sockets are too thick for the sandwich plate. I need a thin socket or some time with the grinder... I left it in there until next oil change in 3000mi to finish the install
Never put thread sealant on AN fittings!!! It uses the taper to seal, not the threads themselves. Please do not advise the use of any sealant on any AN fittings.
@chris serrani I just google it. ""AN stands for Army-Navy. The size specifications were established by the military back in World War II. They were originally used in the aerospace industry. AN fittings use a 37 degree flare as the sealing surface.""
Says for a Z that it takes 5.2 quarts of oil to fill. But with the oil cooler installed would you need to add another quart or just put the same amount??
Exelente video le entendí como para hacerlo en mio ,es más tardado quitar la facia y los accesorios que colocarlo .
Perfecto
Did you develope a whistle after you installed your oil cooler? My Z has a whistle that comes in around 3000 rpm and get higher pitch as the engine revs higher. I googled it and theres a lot of people on the 370 forum that got the same result?
I have a 370Z sport coupe 6MT that is putting out about 380 peak horsepower at the crank with intake & exhaust mods and a dyno tune. I was thinking of installing a larger radiator with an internal oil to water intercooler as an alternative to an external oil to air cooler. Do you think this would be a good idea?
"When you do remove the bumper completely, it will still be held on to the car by the wires that go to the -Fog lights- DRL - Laughs in Pre 2013 Facelift -
What temperatures do you get when you run the car hard?
It u have the bigger oil pan does this effect the space at the bottom for the lines ?
Wow, you made this in 2018?
I'm just now installing a Soho Motorsports A2A kit and my car already has a 25 row series 9 oil cooler which does not fit flush on the rear ledge.
I'm actually watching your video to determine what type of oil cooler you used.. and I'm looking at other videos as well. I think I'm going to use a series 6 Setrab 25 row which is around 13 inches including the mounting points. The series 9 is 16 inches long.
what sealant is that? mines leaking somewhere and cant find it
tremendous
Just use a drill bit stopper, as it actually stops the bit from moving vs anything else.
could you buy any chance drop a link for the adapter for the jack? 😁 ty
Hey so i'm going to do this soon. It looks like your car also has the stock OEM oil cooler right?
Basically looks like you're stacking your thermo plate on top of the oem plate that already has lines on it.
Did you find any issues running both OEM and aftermarket oil coolers together? Thanks
I've found no issues with it, however it makes the filter really, really cramped.
Great video ❤, I was wondering if you have done a transmission cooler since you're running a super charger. Thank you.
Center bolt is 21mm?
how long are those braided oil lines?
What about using wheel chocks? Shouldn’t only rely on the parking brake. Just thought of mentioning to be safe for yourself and the car
Do you have to add more than 5 quarts? Assuming that the oil cooler would make the level low?
I can’t get a socket on the piece that secures the sandwich plate it’s a 1 1/16 socket
Did you wait for the thread sealant to cure? If not, is there any concern of uncured sealant mixing in with the oil?
Any checking engine light with it ? Any problems running into it or you just benefiting only from it ?
No, as long as it is properly sealed so no oil gets out you will be good.
Also highly recommend the thermostatic plate.
Does it matter which hose goes to the sandwich plate
Does the longer hose goes to the 10an closest to radiator or the rear 10an ..
Trying figure out .. meaning to the cooler has an outlet and inlet same for the sandwhich plate
are you still using the oil cooler? and do you have to change the oil in the cooler each time you do an oil change?
Yes and no. I change my oil as normal. It does mean that a third or whatever of your oil doesn't get changed out which isn't ideal, but I'm of the opinion that as long as you are soing them reguilarly you'll be fine.
when installed, was your sandwich plate able to move still? like could you swivel it around ? or was it fixed in place?
Mine stayed fixed in place. After I threaded on the oil lines, I tightened that center bolt down and it was unable to move by hand.
@@thecarizon504 do you happen to remember what size socket you used ? im having a lotta trouble tightening it properly
Is this oil cooler better than the mishimoto one? I can get a 24 row cooler with Setrab core and thermostat from z1 for $550 while a 19 row cooler from mishimoto is about $555 with thermostat.
Iwouldngonwoth the 24 row, supposedly setrabs flow better from what I understand.
Hey did your thermostat slightly leak after driving a long time? I found it hard to install due to such tight space in the end to take the oil filter off and such other things.
Thermostat meaning the sandwhich plate? I had no leaks. The space is deffinetely really tight. I can barely change the filter.
@@thecarizon504 would removing the factory sandwich plate and draining the factory cooler give you more space or is it welded to the block somehow? Any reason why someone couldn't use the factory sandwich plate and just run new lines to an air cooler, bypassing the water/oil cooler?
I installed my oil cooler and my oil filter keeps leaking. Any thoughts? If it’s too tight is that bad?
It could be a seal. Yes it's not good to over tighten the oil filter. I only use the filter tool to remove it and just tighten by hand
Did your Oil cooler start to make a whining noise after the installation? I had followed all the procedures plus I used your vid to double check the steps involved. I made sure there's was no leaks. I noticed a whining noise. I contacted Z1 motorsports and they said it was an incorrect installation. But it isn't because I followed everything to spec. Did you experience the whining noise during idle and during acceleration?
I didn't experience this no, actuslly a bit confused how the system could create a whine in the first place.
I noticed my sandwich plate rotates a little bit, is it supposed to not move? I haven't noticed any oil leaking.
So what do u have to do when you change the oil or do u leave 1 quart of old oil in the cooler I think I'd only let that slide for two oil changes max then what?
If you want to properly change it then you'd have to disconnect the oil cooler and poor it out. I just do the oil change normally, this gets 80% of the oil out, and dilutes the rest of the old oil.
You could also, drive it for several miles and then do a second oil change, that would get out 96% of it which is as good as you can really do.
R u able to just remove the lower panel and reach up in there disconnect and take it out?without removing the bumper two oil changes are not cheap I get my oil changes done at the dealer just for documentation and that's like walking on hot lova with them morons
@@fatherchop5796 lol, yeah I've straight up stopped taking my car to the dealership. I've been stung too many times by shoddy service and over pricing.
You won't be able to service it without taking off the front bumper. You might be able to disconnect both of the oil cooler lines to the sandwhich plate, and use a pump to force the oil out of the cooler... but you'd be on your own for that onr.
Did you have a washer at all, between the the sandwich plate and the oil filter bolt?
Great video that will aid me in the future. But I cringed when I saw the Fram oil filter.
Very good attention to details ... nice work men.. how many degrees have you notice it improve?
Thank you!
You can watch my review video that I posted just before this one but I saw a 20 degree drop in temps.
Thumbs up already with the rubber Jack pinch weld adaptor. Where did you get yours
You can find them on amazon. I might recommend getting the metal ones though, the rubber tends to wear over time.
@@thecarizon504 I'd rather use rubber and have to replace then I think but thanks for the quick reply
why didn’t you show installing the sandwich plate
you think u got enough windshield wiper fluid tho
you should leave the jack stand and jack in case one or the other fail i also put a tire under my car and vice versa
If I am working under the car for an extended period of time I normally do.
Actually, that's not the radiator...that's the air conditioning condensor...the radiator sits behind that.
Please pout the transmission in gear, reverse and also chock the rear wheel. Thanks
Did you notice your power steering to feel loose after this? I think the power steering line spacer made mine feel loose
I am hoping to god this install is about the very same on Infiniti Q50 sedan.
Make your titles more comprehensive to gain more hits. Add "Nissan" for example :)
I always include nissan in the keywords. Not sure if including it in the title would help? I try to keep my titles concise.
Don't need any sealant with AN fittings.
AN lines and sandwich pate are installed wrong . They should be at the 10oclock position. Hopefully you dont go off road or hit something big that knocks the low AN connections off. bye bye motor
I cringe when I Jack up on them and I hate when the car creaks
I already installed it, almost the same as what he did, if I had had this video before I would have saved at least 3 hours. Thanks
