This was an amazing few days. Hartlepool was lucky enough to host the 1st leg of the 2023 race. Hartlepool last hosted back in 2010 so a long awaited 13 years for this.
It dd not disappoint, It was free to enter and it had a lot of entertainment that was also free of charge.
Sharon was so giddy to see all the ships, she got her geek on all weekend.
How amazing the fact it was right on our doorstep too!!! which meant that we didn't have to worry about buses or taxis.
There was so much to see and do, and we were so sad when it all finished and the ships set off on the 2nd leg of the race over to Fredrikstad in Norway.
We would like to say a massive thank you to all of the vessels that came to Hartlepool and kept us thoroughly entertained and we hope they enjoyed their stay with us as much as we did.
It wore us out though, by the end of the weekend we were super tired and aching, even Jp was wore out and he is the fittest of the pair of us.

and recently expelled many Chinese ships that entered Indonesian territorial waters
