Awesome MX track session Brother David 😱!!! Love seeing the Kraton XL back charging hard. You're so right about forgetting how sweet some rigs are until you rip them again 😍. What an absolute ripper. Sick sends my friend 👊. I've had that same melt issue with my Tekno more than once. Doesn't have to be a frozen bearing. The plastic diff case input bearing separater is to blame. It's a shitty design. Tekno decided to use the same size inwards and outwards bearings separated by a thin plastic mold. When it fails, the input gear pushes rearwards into the case and the input cup goes along for the ride. Why they didn't incorporate a metal inner bearing sleeve (with larger bearing) is beyond me. 🍻
Yeah, that definitely was a bad design. I have found a set of aluminum cases for this thing and I think that’s going to be my next purchase for this car. Thanks for stopping in brother. I appreciate it.
Nice bash bro, I've never had the rear diff bearing go on my but I did do a centre diff bearing a few months ago and it ended up melting the plastic diff case too it got that hot so now I run all aluminium diffs front, centre and rear 😂😂😂
Wicked run, do love the XL versions, they fly so nice. M2C does such a good job! On the ET48.3 i have read on the Tekno forums that people use "flanged" bearings on the rear bulkhead to stop the driveshaft crushing it on massive jumps. But also that young man who suggested the Alu bulkheads might also help make it a belt and braces fix! Either way, it's shop time!
Nice rip, dude. I agree with you on you forget how fun cars are when you don't run em for a bit. I went out to run two of my trucks after 3 days of rain & forgot how fun both were!! :) One video from the day has been uploaded already!
I have had that happen several times the diff case has a small thin plastic shooulder ring that keeps the 2 bearings from passing through the case when it gives loose the diff case is no good the gear that the bearings are on moves both ways it usually happens from chassis flex but i see you have a good brace 🤔
Hey Bars, Good vid! I have a tekno et and eb. Also, have a arrmma that I was thinking about making into a xl kraton. Would you do it after owning teknos?

Yeah, I think I’m going to need the aluminum differential cases so these bearings can’t melt down like that

Awesome run with the Tekno ET48.3 🤩🚀 Unfortunately that break does happen, it’s still a race car at heart, lol

Thanks ✌️
Been wondering if Chad was ok, Awesome bash!!! bearings happen. thanks for punishing the parts!!!!
Any time! Always a good time
Had it happen on my infraction 😅
Try the XL with the badlands mx38 unbelted.. you'll have so much more fun

When I tore this apart, I thought it was the outside bearing, but it was actually the internal one for the drive gear that actually blew apart
Nice what hitec servo are you using?
I run two different ones my favorite so far is definitely the DB 961
Hey Bars,
Good vid! I have a tekno et and eb. Also, have a arrmma that I was thinking about making into a xl kraton. Would you do it after owning teknos?
