JUST installed this today on my Gladiator Willys. I don’t know shit from shinola about 4wheel drive components. I bought the kit a while back and have been procrastinating putting it on. I must have watched this video a hundred times over the past 8 months😂
1st: TAKE OFF THE FRONT BUMPER BEFORE YOU START! Makes things MUCH more easy to see. I’m getting ready to buy a new front bumper anyway so I figured why not.
2nd: It’s NOT as easy as this woman makes it look, unless maybe your jeep is new with no undercarriage dirt and things easily unplug and you have a car lift and poles.
3rd: Those damn bump stop bolts SUCK to tighten up!!! I finally got them but it took me a very long time.
4th: That damn track bar is a pain in the ass to re-install!!! I tried doing the job without removing it but when I had to tighten up the bump stop nut it was in the way.
All that being said, I did this job in my garage with a 4 ton jack and 2 6 ton jack stands. I did this 100% alone with ZERO help or even anyone standing around to give me advice. The total job, including removing the front bumper took me 8 hours.
I started at 10am and finished around 6pm.
I’m not the youngest of men, I don’t move around too fast anymore, and my body aches all over BUT, I DID IT ALL BY MYSELF 😎
So if there’s any people out there that have no idea what they are doing, watch the video over and over and then bite the bullet and go for it!!
A lift makes it much easier, but you win for doing it on the ground! I am very happy that this video helped!! Suspensions no joke, but now you're a pro!! -Merideth
Thanks for the video! Installing my 2.5" Leveling kit right now. It took me a couple of hours with a friend helping me. We didn't un-bolt the tracking arm. I did one side at a time.
@user-og6nm9ro6c no sir, not with 2.5" lift. But I have a 6.5" now with 38's. I had to get an alignment with my current lift.
35s are sweet
Why does RC tell you to disconnect the front driveshaft?
Does the 2.5” leveling kit come with the Poly spacers or did that get replaced with the metal spacers? On the website it shows the metal spacers instead of the Poly spacers shown on this video. Would rather prefer the Poly version. Thanks
Its poly with this level kit. I believe the RC lift kit spacers are metal. I have this level kit and its poly. Its probably the best level kit for the price on the market. Im very happy with mine. Added .75” to rear too
Great video, but I have to ask doesn’t it throw off the thrust angle without relocating the track/panhard bar?
You definitely will have issues getting your suspension aligned properly without an adjustable track bar or front lower control arms. If you have room in your budget for them when installing this kit, I would absolutely recommend it!! -Zach
Jesus I’m so happy you got rid of the annoying music.
Pep boys tried to say I need a track bar because the only one was tough to get in but after watching this doesn’t look like I need one?? You just have to have someone turn the wheel while you install correct? Stock track bar is fine?
Reinstalling the trackbar can be annoying to say the least but having someone available to turn the steering wheel to line up and wiggle the bolt in is SUPER helpful. This kit doesn't require one! Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
What torque numbers. For the swaybar links. And how people its able to put the nut for the bumpstop extender. On the passenger side. Its a nightmare. I could not
What are you doing on the back? Is it leveled out with just doing the front bumpers or does sit the back lower now?
Nothing! This is more of a leveling kit with extra pieces like the bump stop spacers and extended swaybar links you saw. The rear is staying as-is. After install this truck is completely level. -Zach
How bad does this mess with the pinion angles
Why she didn’t do the back tires ??
Mostly because this is more of a front leveling kit than a whole front/rear lift kit. By lifting the front of this Gladiator 2" its now level front and rear! -Zach
You have to get it aligned?
It is always highly recommend getting an alignment after any sort of lift or leveling kit is installed. -Zach
She said nipples! Huh huh !
Not sure who you are but you should contact ROUGH COUNTRY to do videos for them because their directions are as bad as chinese instructions and they have been copied so many times you cant even read them much less understand them! AWESOME JOB on the video!
