It feels surreal when the UA-cam algorithm recommends you a video that you were *actually* in. I'm FOUR16_ by the way; of all the "goodbye" lobbies available at that time, I'm so glad I picked this one. It's an honour to be able to celebrate the final minutes of GT Sport with you and everyone in the lobby. Gotta say though, that moment at 4:14 where everyone was on the final straight facing the sunset with the first verse and chorus of Daiki Kasho's "Place In This World" playing was magical.
I remember I played a demo disc of this game for one night when I was kid, it was fun, I eventually came back years later with GT5 and its pretty good, I hope they can add an offline patch to this game (I heard its basically online only)
Still don't know why the message was "Maintenance will start Imminently" when it should have been "Server Shutdown Imminent", is it that hard to do?. Like here I was online having fun on Special Route X until we got the same screen. Goodbye GT Sport.
They should've placed a message like "Our servers are beginning to shut down, all online services for this game will no longer function. Thank you for playing GT Sport."
Are there even any revival servers on PS4 at all? Even if it is possible, I'm assuming you'd need to mod your PS4 and last time I checked it wasn't an easy painless process like the 3DS for example.

The track, weather, music and car were so perfect for a last and final moment.. So sad that i couldnt try online because i was always confused on how to access online. So long GT Sport, you were atleast a short memory within me.
I really hate that they took it offline :( But what I wish they would've let me keep was my favorites liveries I made including the Calsonic R32 and the ITA ae86... That I made for a friend that passed away :( now I boot the game and without all of the liveries, its just dead since you cant modify cars there... The game died with my friend, since I didnt touch it for a long time after that happened :(
With a modded PS3 and some tinkering to the OS files, you can play GT6 online once again! It's fairly easy to do and there is a small but strong community that still plays GT6 online some time to time. Even with a 16 player full lobby at some points!
Came here after watching a Concord shutdown video. Unlike Concord, this actually got me sad. A great game unfortunately having to be killed off gracefully.
Extremely sad feelings. I didn't play GT Sport as much, couple of time with a friend, but I play in previous games hundreds of hours and i witnessed the shutdown of GT5 and then GT6 servers 😭
I remember the same thing happening in Gran Turismo 5. I've been abstaining from buying AAA games wherever I can these days. My trust that I'll be able to play them again, even if it's just for nostalgia, is gone.
I told y'all years ago that they would pull the same shit they pulled with GT5 and GT6. And here we are. I hope the new generation got a chance to feel as much pain as we did a decade ago when all that online progress was ripped away from us.
What is more fun to play gt sport or gt 7 ? I believe they terminated gt sport to sale more gt 7 and ps5s, but what really sucks is that the graphic editor cannot be used off line.
i remember going to my playstation, and redownloading gt sport. once i got in i was shocked to realize that the servers were shut down, for i think probably 2 or 3 days ago. sad to realize this will happen to all online games, rip GT Sport. you will be missed.
They should release an update for both Sport and 7 for when support stops for their servers like this to allow you to keep playing Offline and save progress in Campaign and Arcade Mode. I can understand all online features being removed, but Brand Central being taken out (6:40 onward) feels like a kick to the nuts for people who still haven't finished Campaign Mode and need a specific car to continue.
I played the original GT on the PS1, I’ve never played GT Sport or GT 7 but watching people play both online got me an itch to scratch and I’m back into gaming. Now a regular on ACC and LFM.Thank you GT. 👍
Happened to me in GT6. I loved playing online on the PS3, tune a car and push it to the limits for drag racing. I miss that. I don't know why they shut down the servers as te game ages, it's so frustrating.
I never managed to play Sport (except for one time at a friend's house), so this doesn't hit as hard for me. But, when the day finally comes that GT7 meets the same fate, I'll wanna be right there!❤ Also, props for managing to pick literally the only official VGT car that isn't in 7. Pretty sure the only other original car from Gran Turismo's history that isn't here is that Nike One from the PS2 era.
I miss doing those Nurburing Follow the leader runs. I’d remember spending hours on them showing my cars and livery’s i did and switch out every lap. Met really cool people. GT Sport was my first introduction to The Gran Turismo franchise for me, I started late but my good friend showed me the other games in the series. RIP GT Sport and the Peoples progress/impact they made in the community 🙏 Edit: GT Sport had a real big impact on me with the lounge and house music that was on there it made me love that genre even more, hell it even got me in tune with graphic design and digital art. It tools me at least 72 Races to get my first win in the Porsche GT3 at Suzuka circuit in Sport mode! 2 Nations wins 13 Daily Race wins 155 Followers one of them were Mr.Short Long live this game FOREVER 🙏
This was my 2° Gran Turismo. In 2021 I got ALL GOLD Medals in License, Missions and Time Trial. I was so happy expecting to be close to the platinum, but all I needed were the Online Trophies... I tried so hard and got so far But in the end, it doesn't even matter😢 R.I.P. Gran Turismo Sport 2017-2024

probably just taking casual laps before the game shut down. me and a few friends did the same in NFS:World before it shut down. got in a race and tried to time the finish with the server shutdown. we were a minute off but we all saw the results screen and then, shutdown.
I thought they were trying to time a full lap of the Nordschleife to the final minutes of the game being alive, so that it would shut down the moment the last driver crossed the start/finish line (I think they succeeded?)
I have always wanted to drive one last time as soon as I gotten my steering wheel, now I can’t get that chance here, I’m glad I was able to on GT Sport, I bid us good luck on our journeys in GT7 Edit: it makes me sad just to see a great game to suddenly be shut down, I will fondly remember the moments I had with the few friends I made in Sport, and now I use it for training and honing my skills, I only hope that in the future, this game will be recognized as one of the greats
this game split the playerbase forcing it to be online only, only for GT7 to be focused online as well. it had an ok format, it’s just the penalty system ruined everything. also, statically it very well might be the worse GT in terms of sales on launch

Thats why GT Sport was crap, almost only online content. No legendary missions , no history to recall. So after servers were shut down this game is uselles, however pople can still play in single all games from 1- 6.

You can still play it offline. They patched it so you can still progress through the game. (Unlike The Crew that is literaly unplayable)
