That give disadvantages for u and adc in lane bcs u lost minion's protection and pyke can S1 u easily. If he wanna focus on lane and handle pyke, sickle should be appropriate choice. Sera has long range and pyke is melee. He can literally harass pyke while having minion as his "wall". That is more safe. I think the logic answer why he choose relic is bcs he wanna clear wave faster and help other team instead of dealing with pyke.

I wonder why relic shield start?
For faster wave clear so support can roam to other lane or help jungler. Relic got updated that its percentage is same for range and melee champion.
