I have found the optional ram/ rom optional 8 mb adjust works very well. Micro USB charging on a decent charger that I use takes just over 2 and a quarter hours from flat. Decent pictures and battery with basic regular use lasts me over 2 days. I didn't expect much but welldone Oppo.
Im not too concerned about the micro usb port tbh. I would prefer C yea. But its not too much of a issue. Il likely upgrade before it ever failed as im cautious generally with that anyway. But tbh its really good. Iv had a galaxy a13, ao4, and this phone in the same price range is much better. Its actuallly good lil phone. And despite 60Hz , it feels buttery smooth. Its like a consistemt 60fps All the time its speedy n snappy too. Like actually not bad lil phone. Looks sweet too i have the blue one Nothings quite like the s22 i had but went walk abouts one day 🤬 but yea GG
I got this phone recently. I like the long battery life, and good call quality. But I don't like the micro usb and the lack of fast charging and the phone lags and stutters at times after a couple of weeks of use. Will be looking into getting a better phone
i want to give my mom a new phone, she still uses those old school phones and i tough of giving her one of these to iniciate her into the smartphone world. is this a good option for her? she is pretty much a basic phone user.
Thanks for visiting my channel. I think it will be fine for her. I would uninstall as many apps as possible and disable as many as possible. Make the journey less complicated.
yeeeeaaaah south bank represent. definitely going to buy this phone - not only because my credit is in the toilet and i only have $200, but because this looks like a really good phone. thanks for the review!
Hey Connor, Thanks for this review! I enjoy your content mate! I’m looking for a cheaper phone to get me started for a new job (then upgrade later). Mostly using multiple apps at a time, plus phone calling and emails. Would you recommend the Oppo A17? Or would you recommend any other phones? Other option I was looking at was second hand iPhone X or 11 or SE? Thanks!
If you're planning on getting this phone for music, DON'T! The music app is so shit! There is no scroll bar that allows you to quickly scroll to the bottom or to a specific letter of an artist you're looking for. Makes it especially hard if you have a lot of music. The shuffle mode is a disaster, it does shuffle the music, but it tends to always play the same songs on shuffle and it will come to complete pause sometimes and won't even be able to find a song to play. Another thing, if you were to delete the music off you're phone completely, the file name still shows in the music app and becomes a problem when you download new music. Your old deleted music files will still be in the music app next to your new songs and if you were to put in shuffle mode, it would choose your old deleted music that doesn't work and the music would stop, forcing you to constantly open your phone again and manually pick a song. You're better off going with a Samsung for a similar price, my experience with this phone has been a headache. My advice is, if you want to buy a cheap phone for music, STAY AWAY FROM THE OPPO A17!!!
@@nicholasrosella2952 Spotifys fine, it's just the music app on this phone that's a pain, you could get a different music app from the play store, but alot of them have ads.
The music app is produced and developed by a group called All saints and is available for install on the store, I don't think a music app should be a drawback or reason to not buy a phone since streaming is more common nowadays
@@emward6858 oh u got the phone.. can u tell me about it. Like your experience using it course im gonna buy this soon... is it good? Like slow or something
been using it for a few months now, everything else is amazing for it's price like camera, sounds, battery life, etc but it will stutter when playing some youtube vids at 720p 60 which is very annoying. It tends to stutter or lag in gaming or gameplay videos, especially fast paced vids for some reason. I mean i can watch the famous Costa Rica in 4k 60fps video just fine but in say apex legend gameplay videos or high quality game trailer videos it will lag/stutter. I tried everything to fix it but it just seems like a hardware issue sadly, it's very weird though because my old phone xiaomi y1 note 5A works just fine at 720p 60 in those vids i mentioned. This is the only downside to this phone that i can say.
@@mr.president9771 camera is pretty good, but keep in mind im not a photographer so im not too picky when it comes to phone camera but the camera is definitely good enough for me. Photography with good lighting is excellent, the color is bright and vibrant, obviously rear camera is way better than front camera because of the 50mp vs 8mp. At low lighting environment it's still good enough, you definitely can't be taking pictures in a really dark room but in a room where there's a little bit of light, the pictures can look good, you still need to do some brightness adjustments tho. The 50mp on the rear cam is definitely one of this phone's selling point, it has a 50mp photo feature where it takes pics with really good detail and you can zoom in and still see sharp pixels/clear details. When it comes to videos, it's not the best but it's ok, it doesn't have stabilizers so it will be shaky if you shake the camera too much. The quality is the same with taking pictures, rear cam is way better than front cam. It records at 1080p 30fps, there is no 60fps option and no 4k option which is ok at this price point in my opinion.
This may be the phone for 1 or 2 older relatives. Tech capable enough that they like to take some snaps when they go out to show off. don't care about that InstaFace crap

@@A9A934 you can check out the dark mode
For anyone experiencing lag and/or stutter, disable system animations by accessing developer mode.
For me, it solved the occasional lag issues.
My Realme C21 (incidentally the last Realme phone to be released in Oz) also has a microUSB port just like the OPPO A17.

seems too good for the price . if it does lag and stutters often that would be annoying. would probably need to get a better phone.
and what would you say about the camera for photos and videos?
I currently own this phone for a budget phone its not bad
Is this still worth it in late 2023? Also, nice review!
@G0L_D_Fsh it isn’t that good tbh
@G0L_D_Fsh what did you get?
