Dizzy was a good musician: recording artist, performer, collaborator, director, innovator, traveling minstrel... and one of the best trumpeters ever :D
I like this kind of jazz, with a little more movement. What genre is this, can someone help me? Can anyone suggest more singers who play songs like this and sing?
@@Laureentito me it sounds like jazz with a touch of funk. A great jazz trumpeter-singer I highly recommend to listen to is the legendary Louis Armstrong.
I just LOVE this performance. It really embodies his personality…especially the little dance at the beginning. I saw him in ‘88,in a. beautiful park Oceanside at night . He was awesome!!!!
Yo me doy gusto...
Pero Unicorn y Like Dancing tienen algo común
crazy good. that's rhythmstick. dizzy has an album called Rhythmstick. and a video on youtube. from 1989. This tune Unicorn is from the '77 Free Ride album. composed, arranged and conducted by Lalo Schifrin. He is of Argentinean origin. the akbum has ernie watts on sax. you know him at least from charlie haden's wuartet west albums. guitars were played by ghostbuster ray and wah wah watson and lee ritemeur.
Yeah. As of an awesome beebob jazzy trumpeter, that Dizzy can and will come with all kinda of newly style of modern techniques of all that all time newly style of music, can change from one mod style to another, as from one place to another, and he knows how to do it.
I guess Lalo and Dizzy were going to try and cash in on the waning dance craze. As much as I love seeing Dizzy live, the original studio version has more punch. It's a cool groove that screams "play me over and over in a disco!"
kyle anderson Ok, for some reason,...after six months I've revisited it again (it just makes me feel good). I think maybe you were right. I'm starting to like this one better.
Dizzy était un écologiste. En fixant des capsules de soda (vous devinez tous la marque) sur un bâton;, il inventait un instrument de percussion pas cher et efficace. Funkissimo!
It's not an intended effect. Older cameras had sensors sensitive to bright light, resulting in a short term "burn in" effect on film. It's more noticeable with high contrast recordings like this one.
Miles told bird « i go from the band you have diz why you want me i cannot stand with him » bird: yoûre in the band and i trust you keep on go! » i heard diz at the end can do whatever with his horn but he is playing sound from miles of course is not dumb this one
Parts of this sound like the incredible theme, way too similar to be coincidence, therefor dizzy is a time traveler and went to future to rip off Pixar
Dizzy himself said someone once fell on it and bent it and he liked the sound. Some company's have made a trumpet built this way (because of Dizz no doubt).
Dizzy, himself, said, " The reason for the upright position of his trumpet was to hear when the bell of the trumpet was positioned above his head." There you have it

I like this version better... The studio version is too clean... this has more swing in groove... then again, I heard this version first.
kyle anderson Ok, for some reason,...after six months I've revisited it again (it just makes me feel good). I think maybe you were right. I'm starting to like this one better.
haha! The original is great but this one has a lower swing
You know which version I like best? Whichever one is playing... Love Dizzy!
