Lucky Joe Equía’s road to this moment has been years in
the making. The day he picked up his first accordion to
where his fans have put him today, success comes from
within.
Lucky Joe is an empirical musician at 15 years of age
decided to dedicate himself to music. With the accordion
being his main instrument he received his first break,
kicking off his career with South Texas Native Alma Pulido ,
as well as Jennifer Pena Y Los Jets and then with his own
band Los Frijoles Romanticos. Touring the United States,
Europe, and Mexico prepared him for his solo career.
During 2004, and together with “Los Frijoles Romanticos”,
he manages to get the highest recognition that any
musician can receive, his first Latin Grammy nomination.
This is when Lucky Joe knew, that the music industry, would
be his profession and calling.
"I wanted to do many things, but I approached songwriting
first to get my foot in the door a bit more. . I have had the
fortune to write many songs for great artists’, such as Bobby
Pulido, Shelly Lares, Elida Reyna, Grupo Siggno, and the
late great Jimmy Gonzalez from Grupo Mazz. Thanks to this
gift that God gave me, the fans and the media, began to
respect me as a music artist, and many more doors began

Lucky’s career dramatically changed in 2012, when he
cowrote ‘Juntos Hasta Morir’ with Lalo Reyna from Elida
Reyan y Avante and featured a Duet with Two Time Latin
Grammy Award Winner Elida Reyna and Latin Grammy
Winner Jesse Turner of Grupo Siggno. The song has
garnered over 10 million views on UA-cam and won the
Duet of the year at the Tejano Music Awards in San
Antonio, Tx.
