It's refreshing to see new faces and this director is brilliant. I've tired of the same prolific actors who appear in film after film. This is a young culture that I've never seen.
I actually lived “American Honey” not quite the exact experience but there are parts so accurate that they definitely worked with some mag agents. Never stole anything or had sex for money though.
I fkn love Shasha! the film was sheer brilliance. watch the film, regardless of if you're 18 or 80! really really impressed to say the least. well done!
Great movie! The one thing about this movie was the scenes were set up in such a way where I thought something bad was going to happen but never did. Especially the cowboy scene in my head I was thinking they’re gonna kidnap her or something worse but that scene ended up being so relieving. Never had that experience while watching a movie were nothing goes the way you think it would. Love it!
Selling magazine's so hard. I had to sell them for my 7th grade semester . Most people are rude and questioned me,as if I was trying to scam them. But one older rich lady bought over $1,000+, cause she had alot of grandkids who had everything; and wasn't sure what to get them. So she bought them magazine's
Lane was plucked from obscurity on a beach in Florida while she was partying there with friends over Spring Break, and cast as a lead in 'American Honey' alongside Shia LaBeouf. WATCH NEXT: Werner Herzog on Virtual Reality, the Future of Humanity, and Internet Trolls - bit.ly/2dBG1n2
American Honey is one of my favorite movies, but now that I know how it was done, all I can think about is how can I make a movie with the same process, where the actors uncover what happens chronologically the same way the audience would. It felt SO real and it felt so good to be part of the experience, rather than a voyeur or ghost like in traditional films.
FYNFB I think he's brilliant. His dogme style, ultra filth, ultra dream-like while being ultra realistic. Gummo, Julien-donkey boy, spring breakers, trash humpers. His film concepts are fascinating. He doesn't care for established tropes or appealing to the mainstream. He's truly a rebel filmmaker
American Honey is a great film that really shows the wide array of human differences, and the soundtrack that the producer chose to go with it was perfect! This is one of my go to films to watch to sort of get out of my own little box, and place myself into others situations and circumstances 💜 marvelous film!
Say somone approaches you to be in flim. Not only that but your the lead. Would you turn it down? This goes for the other "kids" that were recruited. This is a once in a life time opportunity. Can you imagine the memories they will carry for the rest of their lifes. The bonding, friendships and the ability to traveling all over the US. They got to experience something that 99% of population never will. Who cares if they go get regular jobs. They will always have something incredibly special to look back on. The cherry on top is its actually a good flim and not some crappy movie that nobody will ever see again.
This makes me so happy that this could be real, somebody just cast in a movie like that, by pure accident, without the rigorous training of the drama school, isn't that the fantasy? And she's so talented, you never know where the talent lies until you give a chance to yourself and others.
It's sooooo good. It's rewatchable too so whenever you feel like going on a road trip with real people, you can turn it on and you're in it. It might still be on Netflix.
why are you guys tripping so hard about this content? some people may find it interesting - move on to the next video or unsubscribe completely, you sound like spoiled children
this is a real film about the reality of mag crews. The director pulled a bunch of random kids from random places in florida to make this film. She also followed real life mag crews around to get the real story. Google mag crew stories. The stories are fucked up but very real
I love the movie a lot and I also talked few times with Sasha Lane on Instagram. Amazing soul and everyone should see this movie. I seen it more then 3 times. But I always see it over and over and over again again and again. Love it so much!
emily sears But some people actually want to watch this video. If you want drug documentaries, go find a playlist of drug documentaries on their channel. Otherwise, don't ruin this video for those who want to watch it.
just saying that most ppl dont find this interesting since ive read the comments and vice would probably gain many more viewers if the would stick to drugs and gangs
I recently watched AH. Interesting film. Definitely not a traditional film. The story is really your following around this girl for some time & thats it. If you want a rom com, this film is not for you. Brouht back memories of my own.
Wow didn't realise it was so authentic , the director is clearly amazing.... These new actors must have had a great Time,...
It's refreshing to see new faces and this director is brilliant. I've tired of the same prolific actors who appear in film after film. This is a young culture that I've never seen.
She did an absolutely phenomenal job for her first role. She's a natural
I actually had a feeling it was her first film
I fucking loved this movie
It's an odd film but also one that I keep watching for some reason. It grows on you.
Fuck yeah
i loved this movie too it was so realistic and relatable
I love these type of movies, there is beauty in the struggle. Feels so real and authentic
this movie was beautiful and had one of the best film endings i've seen in a looong time😊
@@Fallen5321 because it didn't have an ending lol
I agree
It is an open ending, open to a personel interpretation
I love the movie and Sasha Lane was brilliant !
i agree
And Shia Labeouf perfected the hell out of that character.
I actually lived “American Honey” not quite the exact experience but there are parts so accurate that they definitely worked with some mag agents. Never stole anything or had sex for money though.
Raven Mcchesney does that kinda work still go on today??
@@nooraliyah1001 scamming? Hell yeah lmao
@@nooraliyah1001 yes it’s a real business

@@biffbutowski2447 how so? Lol
Unless youve been on a Mag Crew you can never understand how real and accurate this REALLY is. I LOVE this movie, brings back tons of memories.
Damnnnn you was on a mag crew ?? What's was some of ur experiences??
This movie is about her
I went to highschool with her.. small world.
Matt Ewing that never happened.
cbappa2 and who are you to tell me what I did and didn't do?
Why you didn't hit that? She cute
So did I. We were in the same history class Junior year, super word
My husband went to middle school with her and i have 2 other friends that also went to highschool with her lmao
I fkn love Shasha! the film was sheer brilliance. watch the film, regardless of if you're 18 or 80!
really really impressed to say the least. well done!
Her natural performance at American Honey was amazing. I didn't think this movie was her acting debut. She can be a great actress in the future.
Great movie! The one thing about this movie was the scenes were set up in such a way where I thought something bad was going to happen but never did. She's so interesting she has something that's so refreshing in movie industry
These two girls just hit the right amount of awkwardness

American honey
So it’s pure luck, not that she is a good actress, lol

It's a brilliant concept, very Harmony Korine-esque
Tenzin Sia Could never what? He's one of the greatest filmmakers our species has seen
The 3 How so?
FYNFB It's the kind of thing Korine does in his films
The 3 No, why is Harmony Korine one of the greatest filmmakers of our time? I was curious why you feel that way.

@@Ripley_E Sasha Lane has since been in other movies and has been acting in a series called Utopia. It airs on Amazon Prime.
It's not shot in documentary style.
Can we have American honey 2

I hope this beautiful soul goes far!
Last time i was this early, vice content was actually good...
She was great in that movie ..talented girl
she seems so much less irritated with her than in any of the other interviews lmao
Sasha Lane reminds me of Keisha Castle-Hughes from "Whale Rider" the movie. And Shia LaBeouf reminds of Miles Teller (Actor).
Joseph Lee I thought so too when I saw the movie, it turns out that Sasha's mother is half Maori. I think.
great interview, love it :-) Sasha is so chill
Damn I wanna watch this movie now, seems interesting
Check out 'Fish Tank' first/also.

Just watched Hell Boy. Big fan now for Sasha Lane. Hope you select great scripts and directors.
Sasha Lane looks like snoops little sister... Please tell me it's not just me.
... It's not just you - Snoop's Daughter was my first thought when I saw her ... It's the eyes and the lips and the hair of course.
I wouldn't be surprised to bump into news that she's actually Snoops daughter.
