We have the same awning for our VW camper. We love it. Its been tested in the worst storms that Britain can offer and it did really well! It sprang one tiny leak on a seam because we had tightened the ropes too much, but we bought some seam sealant and sealed every seam. Now it's as watertight as a submarine again lol. Well worth the money!
I never knew that pocket was there to stuff the open door in, though! My wife's going to think I'm a genius when I 'discover' it lol.

Thanks for the driveaway awning video Another comprehensive demonstration. We have always attached the awning after we bave inflated the poles. It looks easier the way you do it. With regard to compressors to inflate tbe awning I think they are better than the hand pumps. It's possible to set the psi so it cuts out when the correct pressure js reached. It's also very satisfying sitting and having a drink whilst the thing does the job! Looking forward to the detaching video and the reattaching after being g away from the site.

Thanks Bob, had to watch this as heading off soo with our MH & awning, the awning only used once before and the fit was not so good with our MH so pleased to note yours was also not air tight, due to fixed awning extending. We have option to support with straps over the roof, but that was not that great either.
We normally don’t bother with it as usually only two of us, plus 3 Scottie’s, however this trip our adult son joining us and we intend staying at one site for 5 nights and touring on some days so we’ll give it another go. We’ll not bother filming us putting it up, just in case we get too frustrated with it!

As you are away at present without your car you said in the video we will be taking the motorhome out for a drive so please tell me i when you unclip the awning form the motorhome what happens to it when you drive off also what happens to your Aquaroll and Wastemaster do you just leave them on the pitch, and your electric cable do you rewind this everytime you go out or again is this left on the pitch, i have noticed this several times in all your videos when you have not got the car and i was wondering what you, i realise you have to pack everything inside the motorhome in case it falls over, anyhow im sure you will be able to answer my question. Hi Bob and Jenny, Just a few questions about the drive away awning.
    1. If you forgot your steps why didn’t you just lower the awning more so that it was at a more convenient height to thread the drive away tent to the mh awning? Is there a reason why you didn’t lower it more?
    2. Do you leave your tables and chairs in the drive away tent when you go exploring in the mh, or would that be an invitation to thieves? I mean how safe is it to leave equipment unattended? Is there much theft on caravan sites?
Thank you. Hope you had a good time at Coed-Y Llwyn. Cheers 👍🙋‍♀️

I don't want to roll the canopy out to far without being supported, we saw someone's canopy go over the top of their caravan a few days ago! Yes I leave table and chairs in the awning, but no valuables, we feel pretty safe on campsites, if anyone takes them, they probably need them more than us!

I don't think it's complicated or takes ages, I did have an awning that was though!

@@BobEarnshawMoHo ah i see. Well that's good to hear. are there many benefits of having an awning? Like can you drive away with yours still on pitch?

Yes, and on the next video, you can see me do just that!

That awning takes a heck of a lot of faffing about.

Interesting the site so empty. We have been to 4 English sites since lockdown eased, 2 from each club, and they have all been full!

What a faff. Why spend umpteen thousand on a lovely motor home and then sit in an £800 badly fitting trip hazard of an awning. Love Poppy’s chair. Was she eyeing up the cake or the beer?

Thanks, but we rather enjoy faffing about and sitting in our badly fitting trip hazard. It would be cake.

Oh and the awning cost £600 and it means we can sit outside in the shade, away from drafts and rain, we don't have to put the table and chairs away and we have a little bit of privacy.
