As a ex long term prisoner iv dealt with good and bad of prison officers and I can tell this man and men like him keep the prison system going, treats a man like a man, truly valued and shaun love your channel, brilliant content and wide ranging interviews, please keep it up!
Hes classic, ive just watched both his episodes for the second time hes just a everyday decent bloke giving his opinion on what hes seen i could listen for hours
Neil is probably my favourite guest, even though you have had so many great guests Shaun. The three of you have great chemistry. Neil sounds like he has a strong moral compass and comes across as tough but kind. I hope he comes back on the podcast.
Sams recollection ability is remarkable. Out of perhaps a couple of thousands of restraint situations over thirty two years on secure mental health wards, I forget almost everything. Now I sit, retired, and read my books, paint portraits and work at Greggs one day a week. It was another life.
Very inspiring. I worked in a CAMHS unit for 3 years and Neil is spot on about how horrendous and shocking the self harm can be. Hats off to anyone who can do this for a living. That said it can be very rewarding and I'm thinking of going back to it part time after watching this.
Sam has his own UA-cam channel now the “real porridge podcast” it’s brilliant he has ex cons and ex prison guards on there for interviews makes great content👍🏻
This fella is a star! If only the top brass could listen to experience of this big hearted man who says it as it is maybe things would be a lot better, I've listed to your books on Audible and found them so genuine and really enjoyed them, I could listen to your tales all day Sam 😊
Great show great guest. Some incredible stories he was telling along with his compassion made for a great listen. Thank you so much hope to see him back again soon.
"Are you listening, are you listening, have you got a minute". His mouth didn't stand still. Hahahahaha. Let him come back. I would resuscitate (it is your job) but in some cases I might secretly think "why should I do this now".
My favourite guest you’ve had, he has such a good aura. Of course we should have human rights but aren’t the prison guards human too ? Doesn’t seem like they’re treated very well
My dad worked at strange ways for nearly 30 years, started in 88. Went through all the riots and everything. I remember going to the open day as a kid for staff families when they'd rebuilt it and remember being locked in own of the cells, some of the stories my dad has is amazing. Noonans, Shipman loads of crazy stories. Neil seems one of the nice ones like my dad was, some of the cleaner stories from back in the day are great
Totally enjoyed this one - well as much as first one!! Sam should be so proud of his work. Speaking out against status quo can be really frightening, he was really brave. Articulate and fascinating stories - can't wait to read the book 😆
no , he is in prison for jumping his bail , he knowingly published classified documents , he knew what he was doing , so fuck him , sick and tired of hearing it . He jumped bail , therefore like every single one of the rest of us , he was RIGHTLY arrested and held with no bail .

Great guest. Not everybody will be a fan of PO's but you can tell he's an honest decent guy. Love to the channel as always. Also Wildman seems to be getting to grips with the interviews letting the guest speak with less interruptions...nice one big man
I remember you from years ago Neil from when I was in strangeways yet again for drunken bullshit an you seemed like decent guy as well as some other screws can tell your decent guy watching this interview agree with what you say about prison being dangerous place, went too strangeways about 10 times for short spells but not been locked up in years coz don't drink anymore
So much respect for Mr samworth. Did 10 years sentence for a conspiracy to supply 22 million. All I can say is could not put poca on me. Truthfully had no money But anyway to a P.O like yourself. Omg I have tears I found myself. No more trying to be gangsters moll I owe so much to my P P.O. 6 weeks after been released no home no help. Wanted to top myself. But I fidnt I went climbed BEN NEVIS ?. I picked to represent bury probation at parliament to talk about women in prison. And I now work for part of manchester mayors office. Trying to get youths voices heard. Tell youths the real deal to stop them from walking my path. You are amazing.mr samworth xxx
Q: What do you get when you put 2 ex-cons and 1 ex-prison officer guard in a room with a microphone? A: An awesome podcast. As good or better than part 1. Good work gents! 👍
If you havent read his book you really should, its gritty and hilarious at the same time. I got it on Audible 2 days ago and have already listened twice. Highly recommend! Also, we want a part 3 for sure!

🤣 every time I go in the G-Casino across the road from Strangeways, I always think the blackjack dealers are a bit odd 😂 next time I go in I’ll be thinking, were you over the road the other week 😂
All the gaming staff in casinos are DBS checked. No one with a criminal record can work as a gaming staff. I'll be worried about the waiting or bar staff they don't have to be DBS checked.
Neil was on the famous 2011 Strangeways documentary where he was handling an infamous prisoner David Charlton. Does he have any stories on this guy? Also what happened to him after the documentary as no follow up doc was made?
I read his book - I bought it in Asda That was because I saw the first video and find Sams stories interesting What I liked about his book was how he was able to articulate his mental health problems, I experienced similar in my work Alan Lord owned a gym right near my house too
@@cantona7449 Waiting for it to arrive from Amazon! He's so down to earth. I could listen to his tales all day!! And my job brought mental health probs to me too when I refused to join in the workplace bullying of another member of staff.
I wonder how many of Shaun and Wildman's ex guards watch the channel. Imagine if they tried to contact them online.. how would that go. You can imagine some resent Shaun's success and reputation..
Neil, the prison system would work so much better if all prison officers were like you. Some are a disgrace to the uniform. God bless you.Enjoy your new life away from it all 🎖️🌟🙏🙋🏻♀️🇬🇧
