  • Mowing with the Exmark Staris 32
    In this video I take out the Exmark Staris 32 with Staris bagger kit or Staris grass collection system, for the first day of mowing my regular route. I start off on a rough lawn to learn the how to operate a small stand on mower and move towards highly manicured lawns as the day progresses. I also show how you can get through small gates with the Exmark Staris 32. It's the perfect mower for small gates.

    Let me know in the comments below what you think of the Exmark Staris 32

      Do you know how long that is I mean I’m assuming it’s probably 33 to 34 inches with the bag mount on it but the length of it

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  3 роки тому

      It is 58” in length. If I put it side by side with my 21” mower the Staris is actually much shorter and compact in comparison. Thanks for watching.

    I went to my dealer to buy one one and they said they haven't even received one yet this year so I went to a ferris dealer and bought there 36 stander. Thanks for sharing!

      Wow that’s surprising to me. Considering I’m on the west coast of Canada. I went to my dealer yesterday and they had a 36 on display and had some other ones in the back. I asked if they have sold any and they said they have been selling. Anyway Congratulations on your purchase. The Ferris mowers look pretty nice. Hope it serves you well. Thanks for watching.

      HotRampMedia I like it real well. I would highly recommend. Really enjoy the hydros there really smooth. Still getting used to the big tires on the back but does ride nice once you the shock adjusted to your weight. Hope this helps.

    What did you think about the floating deck adjusting system? Did you have to adjust the deck for your yards? Was it easy? Tedious? Annoying?

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  5 років тому +1

      It’s the same system that is on the turf tracer I own and the Walker mower I owned in the past. So I’m use to it. It’s easy to change the height. But in reality, I mow all my clients at the same height so I rarely have to adjust the deck. Obviously a single handle would be easier and more convenient to adjust but this isn’t as bad as it may seem.

    My question is would you recommend this to a starter

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  5 років тому

      If it fits the types of lawns you are going to be mowing and you have enough work to justify the price when starting out, then yes it would be a good choice. Keep in mind I have not used it a lot yet to test it in different scenarios like hills or wet grass for example. Thanks for watching.

    My buddy let me borrow his Staris for a week. She's gone now and I'm very much going to miss the backyard capabilities. I don't have any other stand on experience to compare it to but I enjoyed the time I had with it. Run it around your yard just for "seat time", it won't take long before the muscle memory takes over. I'll watch every video you put up of it, because I miss it already. Gave me a goal though, hopefully I'll be able to acquire one by the end of the year. I don't do credit so I'll have to save up from this summers work since I only cut PT. It would definitely help smash out more yards in the PT time frame though so would pay itself off reasonably quick. Good video man, how's the catcher working for you? I was curious how it'd do on collecting because all the ones I've seen were metal mesh, I didn't know exmarks was cloth lined so that should keep a lot of the dust down. Look forward to more videos man. Rains already started here in Northern CA so it'll be there soon. Stay dry 👍

      The bagger is great. I prefer it over the metal ones. It’s easy to take on and off including the backing plate if you need to. And the bag itself is so lightweight compared to the metal ones and does help with the dust. Best of luck on your goal of getting the Staris. Thanks for watching.

      The goal for me is a 32" Stand on with a floating deck, not specifically the Staris, even though I loved the machine. The market is dang near bare in that respect. I'll likely end up with just a walk behind as their options are far more variable for the little gates out here. But then I get to the issue of the smaller walk behinds being belt drive vs hydro and if I'm paying what most of these companies are asking, I want it right and not feel like I'm settling. I'll keep watching for sure man, not many of us from the West pop up in the feed so happy to keep it as local as possible.

    Thanks for the video👍🏿 is bagging grass clippings a thing in your area ? Do you bag all your clients clippings?

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  5 років тому

      Yes. Every residential lawn is bagged here. Luckily I don’t need to take clippings though. Thanks for watching.

    I’ve been really thinking about my 2020 mower purchase an$ I think this 32” stand on will fit our needs for our PT lawn care it will b3 our 3rd year doing this PT. Our mowers right now is 48” snapper pro walk behind,30” commercial push mower that I can get through gates. I use both mowers equally the 48” is new for 2019 and it’s working out well especially with the sulky.In your opinion do you think I should purchase the 32” starts for those gated backyards to make mowing more efficient ?

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  5 років тому

      Sorry, but only you would know the answer to that question. It’s impossible for me to say without knowing what those lawns look like, the mowing conditions, if there are hills or slopes, ground conditions and how many lawns to justify the cost etc. You say you are using a 30” mower already so you would not be gaining too much more for cut size, but it would possibly be faster mowing if the backyards are large and unloading time off the trailer is equal to the 30”. I will say that the Staris is clearly a very well built machine with durability, reliability and low maintenance key features in its design. It does have some drawbacks though. It’s expensive and heavy, and the 4 pin height adjustment system will be a deal breaker for some people for certain applications. Thanks for watching.

    Does the Staris fit in the side enclosed compartment of your trailer or do you have to load it in the back? (Victor)

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  5 років тому +1

      No I don’t think it will fit in the side compartment. I don’t think the door acting as a ramp would be long enough to cut the angle of approach. I know a 32” walk behind mower with sulky will for though. I knew a guy that had the same trailer and had his walk behind in the side.

    Great video thank you.... What I'm wondering about is how are you needs/legs at the end of the day.
    thank you

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  5 років тому +1

      Legs and knees were fine. I get sore feet mostly. But the stander I’m finding is much better on the knees then my walkbehind with a sulky. The sulky kinda wobbles when it tracks behind the mower and along with the twisting motion when turning can cause a lot of stress on your knees. With the stand on mower you are always in the same position and not twisting your knees, so I find it much easier plus the platform has suspension and the big rear tires add absorbtion as well, vs using a sulky with smaller tires and no suspension. Thanks for watching.
