It's a bit disappointing that you didn't go into how you could tell it was failing, even better to apply 12V to it and let us listen, then during the disassembly, an autopsy. You said "figure out what's going on with it", but then you mostly talked about wire. I suspect that where the problem lies is that their fancy plastic blade-hub, isn't well balanced and that prematurely wore out the front bushing. At least that's not expensive for what it is, but yeah they should have made it better and charged more, enough to cover a brushless IP rated, dual ball bearing motor and balanced blade assembly.

Good point. I should have ran it for you. It was a pretty obvious bad noise but it would have been good to hear. I’ll keep that in mind for next time!
