It's okay to watch the teyvat chapter prevail and the we will be reunited- they are the only two trailers that are not in game, but are rather important to know about. The Teyvat Chapter Prelude is basically a teaser for the whole game, and is really cool. The we will be reunited is a video that gives important context for a later section of the game.

These "teasers" are actually cutscenes from story quests endings. So they actually very much contain spoilers. And "Travails Trailer" doesn't, it just shows the roadmap for the game.

It's so funny because the opposite is actually true: the trailers here are mostly ingame, and a lot of them contain heavy spoilers. On the other hand, "Teyvat Chapter storyline preview" trailer is, well, a preview, and is not considered to be a spoiler by most people

Scaramouche's boss fight is real yes and he looks exactly the same in game as in cutscene, absolutely insane
28:43 those are the 5 Yaksha. They were demon slayers, but with every demon they killed, they became further poisoned by their Karma. This lead to one of them (the blue one) killing another one of them, only to be killed by Xiao. Another (the red one) was being consumed by her own flames, and begged for Xiao to kill her, which he did, and subsequently almost lost his own mind, barely being saved by Venti. Bosacius, the one who was in this cutscene, lost his memories, and dissappeared without a trace.
Turns out, he kept doing his job, slaying demons, just without his brothers and sisters, and ended up sealing himself deep within the Chasm witth Boyang to stop an abyssal invasion on Liyue Harbour.
That teaser keeps make my eyes wet
fun fact about wanderer's boss fight: if youre playing as raiden when you die, wanderer will actually say a special voiceline. you can look it up or wait until you get to that boss (if you have raiden by then)

Teyvat chapter preview actually doesn't spoil much, though it feels like it does, the words are twisted in a way to not actually give anything important away. We will be reunited does contain major spoilers, so I'd avoid that, but the chapter preview is such a good one and actually came out before the game even launched. It's basically just a hype video giving you the basic ideas of the overarching story and honestly it might be a great video to watch just before starting the game itself, kind of like how to OG players experienced it
All characters that look like they stand out are playable or will be playable, but many of the 4 star characters that were released earlier in game didnt get trailers or demos so a lot of Liyue and Mondstadt characters you wouldnt have seen. Now however they do trailers and demos for all characters.
Edit: Some of the first 5 stars also didnt get trailers, again in Mondsadt and Liyue
Also the nations of Teyvat are based on certain countries some are based off multiple countries but Liyue is based on China, Inazuma is based on Japan, Mondstadt is based on Germany (mostly), Sumeru is based on South Asia and Middle Eastern countries and then Fontaine is based on France (mostly but also notably based on England). You can kind of decypher which nation theyre from based on their names and designs. So here 18:17 when you were asking about Yoimiya, she is from Inazuma whereas the the Lantern Rite is a Liyue celebration (its a festival held without fail every year for Chinese new year, the next patch of genshin is actually the Lantern rite one!). That one was the second lantern rite in genshin which was soon after Inazumas release, sadly during early game including that point there wasnt much crossover between the nations. Now however in almost every festival any nation holds includes other characters from other nations visiting.
Sorry if this was already addressed at some point in the video, I havent finished and sorry if this has been mentioned before just assuming you dont know from this video.

I was there when Winter Night's Lazzo first dropped in the first minute.
No one expected it, there were no leaks, and not a single hint of it dropping came into existence.
The moment it appeared, in just 20 minutes, the fandom went bat-crap insane. Including me. It was Sunday and I was just chilling on the couch when Genshin Impact unleashed that epic video.
Don't sweat not remembering all the characters, there are a lot of them, you're doing a good job.
All the 4 star characters and a few of the 5 stars that were available at release don't have demos or teasers, so you wouldn't have seen much of them.
This playlist is a weird mix of in game cutscenes, videos only on youtube, and cutscenes from limited time events that have gone away forever. Some of these were very spoiler heavy for the main story, though without context it would be very confusing.
Definitely recommend playing the game if you want to learn more, but I understand it is a huge time commitment. There is a lot of story to get through.

I thought Id also let you know, some of these teasers are not permanently in game and were part of events that had happened. So here is a list of them alongside an explanation since some of them really need one.
Unfortunately often the events have some really important information on characters and the world so you wont see them in game. The rest of them you see in game either through character story quests or the main quest (some have the exception of just being a video on youtube like the character demos, usually the anime styled animation ones)
These ones were event only:
0:48 I couldnt play this event becaus my level was too low but I believe this was for a cooking competition that happened in 2021
14:19 The second Lantern Rite of Genshin, this is a yearly festival to celebrate Chinese New Year
36:27 This was a summer event that happens some years (its inconsistent we didnt get one last year), the whole thing is a bit complicated but this one featured 4 characters stories. To put it simply there were these islands that were given to Klee by her mother Alice (very famous person we havent seen yet) for vacation and she brings her friends along. This was the second occurrence of this event, and the characters traveled to each island which were mirages and showed parts of their selves and stories.
44:40 The story told wasnt of the characters depicted in this one, they were sort of drawn as references to the stories characters. This one was a part of Inazumas first festival, the Irodori festival, there was a lot of lore in this one which is pretty hard to explain. Again its unfortunate lore gets locked behind events perhaps you could watch a play through of someone else?
1:03:00 One of Monstadts festivals called the Weinlesefest German for "Wine Harvesting Festival" by the name this is a wine festival. This is another one which was pretty important for a character, Razor he's found a box from his parents (you'll understand razors situation when you play the game) and he tries to discover the past about his parents and himself through it.
1:17:07 Youre correct this was kind of just a side story, there was a test of courage event held in Inazuma where Yokai interfered (I believe i cant actually remember, some events are very similar but it was something along the lines of this)
1:21:42 Unfortunately this was apart of last years Lantern Rite, it shows the story of the adeptus. Zhongli is an adeptus alongside those big fancy birds you keep seeing and a few of the other fancy creatures with them. Adeptus are sort of like gods but theyre mainly protectors of Liyue. That video explains pretty much that whole story. Madam Ping (who is an old lady we see as an npc is 1:22:44 her, 1:22:07 is Cloud Retainer who is the big white bird's human form. Cloud retainer also known as Xianyun in human form, is releasing in the next update as a playable character)

1:25:09 Similarly this was also apart of last years Lantern Rite so the scene of Zhongli sitting with the other adepti was pretty relevent
1:29:37 Yet again, valuable story locked behind an event sadly. This was apart of last years Windblume Festival which is one of Mondstadts festivals which has happened twice now. The Hexenzirkel are an organisation of witches or mages who are all incredibly powerful, some member are dead and some are unknown. VERY notable members are Alice, who is Klees mother and an elder in the organisation (shes an incredibly famous adventurer who wrote the Teyvat Travel Guide). Another notable member is named Barbeloth is Mona's master, mona explains her master and what all thats abt in game. Lastly there is Rhinedottir who is Albedo's creator (alongside Durin ig maybe u could say his brother and she also create the Rifthounds) when one of the women said she had a son that was Rhinedottir speaking and that animation was of baby albedo being created out of alchemy. Theres more to that but its too long and complicated, youre welcomed to look into it.
1:41:57 A game event that happens in Sumeru between people of the Academiya, the Akademiya is like a big institution of study with scholars and all, majority of the playable characters in Sumeru are or were apart of the Akademiya. In the institution it has like houses similar to the Harry Potter ones like Gryffindor and Ravenclaw so this was a tournament of the 6 groups of the Akademiya
1:50:27 This was for a worldwide teyvat TCG tournament if i remember correctly, TCG is a card game that you can actually play in game, its pretty fun ad its also Cynos favourite thing ever, hes actually hilarious when it comes to this game. The cutscene was the games origins.
Thats all of them I believe, Sorry my explanations are quite long but hopefully you have a bit more understanding for some of these. Genshin events especially big ones with many characters are always really fun and interesting, theres often alot of story in them so its also a shame that ppl miss these things but good thing they still release these scenes. And you can always find videos on these from other people. Genshin lore is really crazy and the world building is even crazier, by the sounds of it you seem like you'll get really into it. fun fact the Lantern Rite festival event (the first was early on in the video in Liyue and the second was around 1:25:30) is an annual event in the game and is coming back in the next update in less than 2 weeks. When you grind through the mini games in that event you can earn the festival's currency and pick one of any of the 4 star Liyue characters as well as other rewards. They are also adding a free skin for Xingqiu (which you can only get free during the event. If not you have to pay for it later.) and non-free skins for Ganyu and Shenhe.
In a winter night Lazzo the reason they panned to child is because he’s like 19 and everybody else there is in their hundreds

If u r gonna start ur genshin journey then I highly suggest u watch the Teyvet Storyline Preview(ironic ik) cus it is only a roadmap video meaning that it is basically a hype video for each nation you will travel to and also, there are still some parts of the preview that hasn’t happened yet meaning that even the community doesnt know 100% what will happen in those parts(also it is just impressive to know that the entire story was premade 3yrs ago)

49:33 - Childe is in fact... a villain. Technically. He is a Harbinger. It is not a twist that Childe is a "Villain". He's pretty up front with you as soon as you meet him, but his positive and bright attitude will throw you off.
This trailer was to introduce all the Harbingers we haven't met in-game yet. There are 11, but due to story reasons 1 is missing and the other is...in the coffin. While the Harbingers are set up as antagonists, a few are friendly towards MC through the story, like Childe. Most of them are just morally grey, trying to achieve their goals.
50:27 - This trailer dropped out of nowhere when it was released, and most people didn't 100% know what was being talked about until after the Sumeru story line was completed. It was VERY hype. It is still hype. People still return to this trailer to analyze it.

For events I suggest looking at UA-cam videos, that recorded the whole event. Sadly most events and their quest are no longer available in game so when playing the game you won't see them. But you will see the chasm one which is an event which quest stayed in game.

During the lantern rite patch of each year there is a bunch of lanterns flying arround Liyue Arbor, and if you want fireworks you can get a firwork launcher and actually choose what they will look like when you set them in the world, that pretty cool
42:54 The woman during Nilou's dance is called Dunyarzad. She has one of the most beautiful NPC stories in the game, so I won't spoil it, but she's Dehya's boss, Nilou's friend and sponsored the performance you watched. I really advise you NOT to look into her at all (not even a small glance), because there is an aspect of her story that you might remember even months after because it's small but really striking.
52:25 All playable characters align with the MC's side at one point, but some are difficult to be classified as good or evil. Childe is one of the most powerful members of one of the organizations that usually antagonizes MC. We aren't completely sure if they align or not with the MC in terms of end goals, but their methods are dubious at best. As for Childe... you should play the game and see XD
1:13:37 Scared of Nahida? That's a first xD Nahida is one of the kindest and most forgiving characters in the game. Don't get me wrong, she is powerful (as you saw xD), but also a very nice person.
Winter Night's Lazzo one of the trailers that made everyone excited, it blindsided everyone because there were so many leakers that kept spoiling everything and this was the one that they couldn't get their hands on. But in that trailer, they're definitely villains

47:32 the meeting thats taking place in this trailer is between the fatui harbingers which are the main “antagonists” of the story. their goal is to obtain all the gnosis from the archons (the gnosis are essentially what gives the archons their godhood, kind of like an enhancer for their powers). they work for the tsaritsa which is the cryo archon. we meet them early on as signora steals venti’s gnosis in the beginning of the story, however she eventually dies in inazuma, and thats the funeral that we are watching in this trailer. childe and wanderer are actually part of the harbingers as well. oh and also the harbingers are ranked in strength, with the top 3 being as strong as gods.
Seeing new reactions to Genshin Always gets me excited🎉🎉
43:35 The girl is Nilou's friend who has genshin Cancer (Eleazar's desease). She wanted to see the dance but the festival is usually banned by the assholes who run the country. They did a big dream experiment on the entire country and the only way to end it is for Nilou to do the dance. That's why everything is disappearing into golden sparkles. The nature of how the experiment worked also made Dunyarzad's lifespan lessen so she basically dies on the final day we finally figure out what was happening and how to end it. But she survived because the God of that country left during this important dance to save Dunyarzad's soul from passing on before it was too late. Dunyarzad's soul appeared late in this cutscene because she was just brought over from almost dying.

Some of these teasers were sadly part of time limited events that you can no longer play through so it's fine to watch them. It's such a shame honestly because a lot of them give insight into the characters and lore

There's Xiao character teaser, his short animation, and bunch of other ones you could watch that aren't actually spoilers. I think you would be fine eatching the spoiler ones as well since without context they aren't really spoilers.

As for Childe (w/o spoiling) He's a good boy! but as a Harbinger he serves the Tsaritsa and Fatui as a whole are seen as the bad guys for reasons we're slowly learning. Childe's character stories give great insight into his character if you're curious

If you want to have Raiden Shogun on your team, I suggest you start playing as soon as possible. There's currently a little less than a week for you to pull for her before her banner ends, and if you don't get her within that time, you'll have to wait for a rerun of her banner, which can can take a LONG time (over a year). if you do try to get Raiden on her current banner, you'll probably have to spend money to get her if you don't get lucky.

Ok, so basically, that place took in an underground mine called The Chasm that has been sealed for years and was only open recently, they were investigating some of the evil energy and stuff, but they all met each other and 2 characters create a conflict that that shake the underground and led them fall underground further, of course when they fell, they are finding a way to get up the surface again, while finding a way, they notice the hole up disappears and that's where it continues.....it's also connected with this part 24:03 it took in the same place.

Nah, we do have two playable villains so far (and about to get more) - Childe and Wanderer (little evil mf, but I love him 🥺). They can be playable once they aren't a direct threat to the MC (Traveler) and have done something friendly or helpful for us, even if they are the villains of the story. Even someone like Lyney could be considered as a "villain" since he's playing for the "other team" but he literally becomes our friend along the way. Traveler is a "hero" of the story, but they aren't simply good... more like a grey character, tbh.
P.S.: you can like villainous or evil characters, it's OK. Just, please, don't create excuses for them in order to try and "redeem" them (especially if the character doesn't want any redemption) to explain why you like them. Like some people in the fandom do it 🙄

Please don't do anymore cutscenes. They are all from the game. Some story teasers are too, but the cutscenes are just always straight up from the game. Someone mentioned Sinner's Finale. That one even tho you won't really understand it, it would be a million times better to experience in game instead.

Finished watching. And... yeah... Verticy is a very engaging content creator, so it's very sad that he saw all the cheery-on-top without any context, unable to perceive it properly even when he'll get to playing the game. Basically spoiled the entire game of quest endings. All due to this horrible decision of some clerk to put Archon Quest cutscenes in the same playlist with Cutscenes from past events, without labeling first as spoilers... gods damn it ;-;
But while we're on the topic of story. I want to share a real story that happened in Genshin community.
There was once a music-themed Lantern Rite (New Year event). And there was a voice actor, former opera singer - Marco (Marco Meatball here on youtube).
A few years prior to that Lantern Rite Marco lost his father. It was of course, a tragedy for him as they two had close and supportive bond. Marco shared on one of his streams, that his father was the one who inspired him to be interested in music. And it was also because of his fathers passing that Marco started his youtube channel where he as a professional and a passionate artist talks about music, video game tracks mostly. He was recommended to listen to Genshin music because he started the channel. Also because Genshin music is just good. Later Marco started to play Genshin, curious to know the context for the music. And seeing the game for himself he voice a wish to be a voice actor for this game a few times.
That one Lantern Rites story quest really touched upon his feelings of grief, helping him, as he admitted himself. But not only that - he was also hired by Mihoyo (Hoyoverse) to voice one of the main characters of that quest, making his dream-into-future come true.
Just for everyone to understand the amazing inspiring chain of events that transpired, I'll simplify.
Marco's father inspired him to be passionate about music -> Marco started a channel in his fathers memory, to talk about thing he's passionate about -> through having a channel he found a game that helped him by mulling over the topic of grief and going further, his wish of getting a role in games cast came true because of his passion.
This is such a life-confirming inspiring real life story...
It's a beautiful circle of events that is hard to believe to have taken place in the real world. But it did.

The thing with Genshin is that, the non-spoiler one doesn't require you to need more context. They are more of the informational one rather than a story-related one.
