I’m Learning more in 30 min then however many semesters of civil procedure.
That was the plan with my video. Thanks for the comment!! Steve
I know this pain. You will get it.
I am. going to do a podcast on this very subject. I as struggling in law school until I met a 3L in the library (name unknown) who changed my who life and helped me figure out what was going on. I have a million dollar secret to share which I have only shared with my relatives who go to the top law schools. Stay tuned. This is a very important comment you just made. Steve
Doesn’t seem you learned much, given you can’t decipher between than and then.
@@YoshiXO who cares about than and then. Learned enough to make more this past year than you will your e tire life. Did I use than correct?
As a 35 year old making a career change from marketing and communications to be a paralegal, THANK YOU!!!
I hope you love law as much as I do!! Best of luck to you, and if you ever have any special request videos just let me know. Steve
@@_KateAnn same here, from music
Very informative! You really gave a clear and concise description of Litigation. Great job!
Glad you liked it
Thank you for all the videos. As someone taking over GL claims for my employer this really helps.
Glad I can be helpful!! Best, Steve
Its important to point out: A request for production is only served on the parties of a lawsuit. A subpoena is served on non parties, such as a party's bank.
Nice add, thank you! SV
Thank you. Specifics are welcome in a presentation of generalities.
I am pro se in a police brutality lawsuit all by myself. I have been studying for 2 years now. If not for you, I wouldn't be able to
enjoyed your video. Pro se litigant, taking my 4th case to court.
@Steve Vondron, You Nailed it! Just the Crash course I was l@@king for! Of course, with the Extreme Litigant leading. Great job!! 👍
Every time I have a real world question....its YOU who offers the answers. Thank you!
That's awesome!! Glad to be of service!! Steve
Thank you for this video. Not a single person out here in UA-cam land like you. I used this to better understand the documents at my new job as a district clerk!
Aw, thanks for sharing Beth. That is sweet of you. I am always here. If you have a topic of interest, just let me know. Made my day. Steve
I've been pro se in 5 civil cases, 1 criminal/citation case, 1 family court case, and 1 probate case. I should have become an attorney 😂😅. This video is everything i had to learn on my own in over 4 years of researching and trail and error. The biggest help to me was videos just like this and also setting in on other cases, as well as downloading many motions, looking at format, and reasonings behind them being filed in similar cases. Excellent video sir! A+
The opposing party didn't show for mediation , now they want a jury trial 😢 I have a TBI , MY LAWYER DOESN'T AWSWER MY EMAILS. I MEVER KNOW WHATS GOING ON , SCARED
THIS IS COSTING ME MONEY I DO NOT HAVE . NO INCOME DISABLED. IM BEING ACUSED OF DOING WHAT SHE DID TO ME 😢 MY DOCTOR SLEPT WITH MY HUSBAND UNPROTECTED DURING COVID .
I TURNED HER IN TO THE DEA .
AND NOW SHES AFTER ME .
TY THIS HELPED
This is great advice! Thank you for sharing!
I’m a filing paralegal explaining to my girlfriend what I do. This is great.
I do advocacy (not a lawyer) but this information helps me get people"s questions precisely prepared. Awesome
you inspired me to fight .. and do at least one unusual method.. i filed a motion to compel (because i could not do further discovery) to get the other sides checklists and procedural process maps... to help the judge understand why so many errors occured on their side ... and explain why they were so desperate...
I'm a foreigner going through a lawsuit in California and this video helped me so much to understand how things work. Thank you SO MUCH!!
You are welcome, glad to be of service!!
I am going through the litigation. it is draining. thank you sir.
Litigation is like running a marathon....hang in there! SV
Love this guy!!! Thanks for the videos and the humor that goes with it. Makes learning so much more interesting.
Thanks Cher! I really appreciate it!! Steve
@@attorneysteve we really appreciate YOU! 🙌🏻🙌🏻. It’s awesome that you have such a passion to teach others. I’m just now getting back into the legal field 20 some years after going for my paralegal degree. I strongly want to be an attorney. Very inspirational. This is really awesome!!
Thank you so much for this. I’m a legal assistant who switched from disability law to litigation and it’s been overwhelming. This is SO helpful.
Glad it helps!! Best of luck. SV
It's a slow process being a victim and living with spine injury. Brain function is improving 20 years later
Hi Steve I used this video to help me understand the litigation process for a college course. Great content thank you for sharing your experience!
Cool, you are already ahead of everyone else!! Thanks for watching and sharing your comments!! Good luck in the class and in your future!!! Steve

You are welcome.....SV
Hi, 👋 this video was very informative and would like to obtain a step by step of this timeline 👍👍
Remember, this is general legal information only, timelines and requirements can vary by jurisidiction! Steve
Thank you Attorney Steve. Very helpful information for a layman self representing at the Labour Court in South Africa. I know I must refer to the specific court rules.
You are a great teacher
Thanks David, I really appreciate that!! Steve
excellent. simple, concise, and perfect as a crash course. thank you for posting it. you rock!
you are welcome!! SV
Great video Steve. I started working remotely as an attorey assistant. I need to know deadlines. After the complaint it comes the answer, but sometimes there is a summon of complaint. Summon is the obligation to answer the complaint? You said there are 30 days for the answer. If the deffendant answers the plaintiff presents the POS? and if there isn't an answer there is an OSC? When is there a hearing for OSC? What is the difference between POS and Proof Of Personal Service? Sorry, I need to keep my job , but I'm going crazy! There is no information on the internet until I 've found you!
Hi Vanina, my information is general in nature. Check your local rules to see when a response is due. In many cases it is 21 days (federal court) and often 30 days in state court. But this can vary. Best, Steve
Please share the links to videos mentioned in your video
Great job Steve !
Thanks Freddy!! Steve
Recently got injured at work and they've been giving me the run around with workman's comp, so I hired and lawyer and he said it's time for litigation so I wanted to fully understand what that entails thank you for this crash course
Is propounding discovery the same as serving discovery? Great info thanks for breaking it down. I’m a newbie so need all the help available
You are on track!!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH !!!! Sir STEVE VONDRAN YOU ARE MY LAW PROFESSOR. I'M LEARNING ALOT FROM YOUR PRICELESS VIDEOS. I'M PRO PER
Thanks for watching! Our goal, as you may know, is to make the law more understandable and access to justice more possible. Good luck!
Sir, what you have to say on the instance of litigation which has happened in one your given Court-
"
He is right that NPR is not legal. The rules were framed later on & they have operated in advance. Further, it is his correct & authentic argument the citizenship of each & every one is proved in the same way as of PM. If you are born here in India no document is required under rule 3 of the constitution. His host of arguments are convincing & substantive.
However, the illogical & arrogance in the game awe fully changes the direction.Particularly the legal fraternity knows it. In my one legal Case filed in the District Court, 'Tis Hazari, delhi I leant that my Advocate & myself have won the Case. However, the certified copy will be given in a day or two as Judge is busy.
When my Advocate went over to collect the Judgment Order
Issued under injunction Order 39, we found to our utter dismay that it has been reversed.
So, it is disappointing to see that Victory of both Advocate & Petitioner has been reversed. I was rudely taken aback. This all was happening when no proper Power of attorney & no written statement was ever filed by NIC, who had issued an official circular that 15 lacs of Govt undertaking money has been stolen from the Gov bank account. It all happened & transpired while CBI enquiry is officially going on in the Office. They were checking the numerous files of many officers & i being one of them. They all gave full clearances to me but on this Case which was fabricated during their presence, CBI is keeping silence.
Therefore, you will please that many good & competent advocate just fall victim to the whim & fancy of mischief mongers. And, no check is there.
The arrogance of the officials is hiding the truth & ridiculing the fight of my Advocate & myself who had vigorously fought this false & vicious Case. Thus, the colors of the courage of the Advocate just perished in a jiffy at the hands of hatred, bigotry & corruption. So, pl take proper remedial steps for your fight lest it may not go waist as my Advocate faced it helplessly."
I’m trying to get my employer to pay for a law degree and this video is a must watch before, during, after, in between, all the time lol, in school.
Who are you, and how DARE you get me hooked on your videos! you've got me binging. I am engaged in two law suites and these videos are a great assist in understanding and to better communicate with my attorneys. I believe in self education and you are a very enlightening as my new "Professor" Thank you for making you content easy to assimilate.
Another Great Vid. Steve, you are a great speaker that presents in an 'easily-digestable' manner. I' continue to learn from you. TY, Sir!
I appreciate you input and viewership!! Steve
First name in legal services!
You know it baby!! SV
Excellent civil litigation overview!
Glad you like. More than I learned in four years of law school believe it or not. SV
@@attorneysteve I believe it! For me, I learned professional photography NEITHER by taking photo/art classes NOR by talking to alleged photography experts who work in camera stores. Rather, I learned how to light and create strong creative compositions by going out in the real world and just doing photography.
I imagine you don’t necessarily learn law by graduating law school, but by actually practicing law in front of the court and next to adversaries and with real paying clients.
I love your videos. I'm not even a lawyer.
YESS!!! I love hearing that!! Thanks Elaine! Steve
Thanks for sharing, very helpful.
Absolutely!
Thank you steve for all of your hard work! I’ve learned a lot from you preparing for a civil case as (unfortunately) as pro se…
My pleasure, glad you enjoyed! Steve
No law school, but I played a bunch of Phoenix Wright and now after this video, I'm ready to tackle my first case.
Knowledge is not power, ACTING on knowledge is power. Go for it!! Steve
Helpful video. Thank you!
Thank you so much. This video is very helpful. My only concern that if you can add a caption option to your videos so I can read and listen at the same time, This will be better to me because English is my second language. Thanks again.
This is a phenomenally informative video.
Glad you liked it, thanks for watching! Steve
Great videos for new court reporters. Shadowing reporters has been helpful, but I think these videos will give me the knowledge and confidence I have been searching for. Thank you.
That's great to hear Molly thank you! Law is fun, and the more you know the more interesting it gets! Cheers Steve
AGAIN AND AGAIN Mr. STEVE VONDRAN THANK YOU VERY MUCH. YOU ARE DOING A GREAT SERVICE TO US THE ONES CAN'T AFFORT OR LAW FIRMS DENY HELP.

Thanks for going over both State and Federal. I am trying in both for the same cause. A lot of shenanigans to be sure.
Very useful information!!! Thank you for amazing job!!!
Hey, I appreciate that, thank you for watching and commenting! Steve
thank you for all these videos. i just finished my first year of law school last month and i plan on becoming a solo practitioner someday. i am grateful for you making these practical videos!
I wish I had known the importance of all this info..when fighting bad officials throughout our entire federal Hallmark system to the Highest Jurisprudence in the United States..Supreme Court's District of Columbia..PRO SE . It was a nightmare gentlemen, but I finished strong! Good luck to you all...
Great overview to explain things. Thanks so much.
I have read NOT to attach exhibits to your complaint because they will claim you are trying to circumvent the evidence process and trying to get around laying foundation, etc. and they can object to using that evidence later. Can you elaborate on this? When and what types of exhibits to include - when NOT to, and also whether or not you should include an affidavit with your complaint if you are propria persona? Thank you.
Thank you so much!!!
Thanks Ciana, glad you liked it!! Steve
I like your microphone
Just watch this video and it taught me a lot on the process for the client to make sure your paper work and the process is correct. Good video but I study law but on my own school is to long as tedious. LOL youtube in itself is a school on its own and everybody knows this to be true. that's why ppl post and watch how to do things. If you can learn how to make an explosive you can learn law on UA-cam lol.
Useful introductory video! Many thanks
Also, could you do a video on why child support is above the constitution? Why there are, (to my knowledge anyways) zero oversight on those courts. Thank you for your vids, they’re great!
This is SO helpful. I am considering law school as mid career move. Thank you!
Awesome explanation and diagram for the win Steve ! Keep going
thank you very much, nice work. question: how is it played out when the person making the claim - plaintiff - makes claim and never gives paperwork to follow up on, making the defendant look flaky to the court?
Can you serve Discovery via email in California?
I wish an adult in my life had directed me into the legal field rather than journalism; but, then again, I would not have got screwed because of my journalism knowledge which requires me to need an attorney. At least now I understand the work my attorney has on her plate.
Great video of education about cases processing , good Job, congratulation steve
Where is your firm located? I'd love to discuss future litigation that I really need help with.
Our offices are listed here! www.vondranlegal.com/contact-us
If you e file and your declaration/complaint is excepted, and the agent accepts the email service does that mean it was the suit is generally accepted or will they file a dispute on your proof of service?
Here is some great information for you people. paralegal and even attorneys are not allowed in medical hospital charts that involve nurse auditing
Great video, I have a question from another perspective. Back in October I was involved in a 18wheeler accident with broken bones and more injuries. Currently in my case we are in discovery stage due to them denying the claims, and I just answered the questions they send yesterday. If my answers and evidence to support my claim, is the judge going to read over both our claims and if he feels I have enough evidence, can they rule before trial based on the answers on discovery?
Thank you so much. I enjoyed your video and learned a great deal
Amazing explanation.
Can Defendant Compel Arbitration during Discovery?
Very helpful video!!
شكرا على مشاركتك الرائعة بالفعل تستحق الإحترام سيد ستيف.
Hi Attorney Steve ... how do you sue companies that are registered in another state but not California? I tried to file a small claims case (for statutory damages for violating the Do-Not-Call list), but the clerk wouldn’t accept it. The FCRA is a federal statute. Do you have to file such claims in federal court? Or just Superior court?
are you still practicing and what state
I know you can't give legal advise but in your opinion my emoyer admitted to the fact of retaliation under oath prior to my civil case how do you think my case will hold up with the preponderance part
Awesome
now that's what i want to hear!!! Thank you! SV
