- How to run and connect Pix4d or Lichi on your DJI Phantom 4+ controller
1) Download and install Pix4d, Lichi or other 3rd party app to your controller using default browser
2) Go to controller settings - about device- tap 5 times on system version--go back to developers option and activate USB Debuging
3) Use micro usb cable to connect usb and micro usb outputs in backside of your conntroller
4) select whot app you want to use whit USB debuging
5) wait for application, it must to run automaticaly and drone will connect to controller
Enjoy using your Phantom 4 Plus whit all 3rd party application that you want.

Hey man - I really want to say THANK YOU!!!! This totally worked. However, instead of downloading from the browser like you did, I saved the file to a micro USB and inserted it in the back, then used the Explorer to install it.
But your cable trick is awesome. I couldn't get it to work without it.

First you use Google Chrome for searching the app, that you will find at Amazon. Then you go to Amazon and buy the app, after that you will be ask to install the Amazon App Store at the controller, thereafter you can download Litchi. When you want to start Litchi, you must go to all application, there you see the Litchi App and start it.

My version of Phantom 4 Pro + controller must be an earlier build because I did not get any of those apps installed. I cant install those to start, like even google play

About drone deploy, this application freezes at startup and wont to work even if Google services are installed. So only pix4d is available on phantom 4 pro +

when I go to install it looks for another portal device to install on when I am even in google play trying to install. ( It will show my cell, which has it on it too). Hi Chuck, as soon as I know, it works only with non + version. If you have PRO+V2, there are no way to run litchi on that controller

Hi, Wingman app are avalieble only for iPhone yet. And Dji Phantom 4+ have Android OS installed on controller. So it's impossible to run Wingman app. We need to wait untill developers make app for Android.
Yo, while this video seems extremely helpful it seems you may have skipped the most important step of this process. @ 00:18 your "All Applications" menu shows 23 Applications. Mine came with 9 out of the box. Do you have to "jailbreak" the Remote Controller in order to start downloading these apps you are teaching us to install (Litchi, Pix4d, Chrome, Airmap, etc.?) I haven't been able to figure out how to download one single additional application.
*edit: I just read through all of the comments and I understand now that the controller needs to be "rooted" or "jailbroken" as I've heard it called in the iphone world....Rooting seems like a pretty extensive process. That has me wondering...Have all these people in the comments here saying they have the apps working been successful in rooting their RC?? I saw you said that needs to be done from a PC....do you know if it's possible on a Mac computer? Thank You!!!
actually you dont need to root your controller for installing 3rd party app. Just download litchi or pix4d apk to sd card, insert this card to controller and install app from sd card using standart file explorer.
root is needt only for installing google servises.

Hello and thanks. This seems to work all okay for Pix4D mapper to execute a pre planned flight on a P4 Pro+Do you always have to keep the USB cable fix in place for flights? I assume you do, as this has been the case for my tests.
Hello. Yes, you must to keep usb cable plugged during all flight mission. If you turn this off, connection will be lost.

So how did you add the google playstore app to your Phantom 4 Pro Plus v2.0 with built-in controller? I see you have a lot of apps on this built in controller that didn't come with mine - how do you get those?
I have Phantom 4 pro+ V1. And as I know, V2 doesn't work with my trick. So even if you will download Pix4d or other app, they will not see your drone.

Great video but you have unlocked UAV. Unfortunately, many users cant install additional applications without debugging .
It's 4 years old video, DJI made few firmware and hardware updates for that time. This method only works on phantom 4 pro+ V1

hi there great video but there still seem to be an issue with mine. there is any pop up when i put the USB cable to the back of the controller.it s not giving me the option to choose wich app as default. as a result the controller is connecting to the aircraft

This trick will not work if you have phantom 4 pro V2
Same problem as a few others, everything installed and USB debugging is enabled, though the pop up window does not appear when connecting the usb at the back.
It does pop up when ES explorer is installed so I know USB debugging does work. somehow it doesn't for Pix4d or Ctrl+DJI

Well, I thought this would lick my problem but it didn't. I did the debug thing, plugged in the USB, but no window came up asking which app to use. Even with the DJI Go4 app stopped, when I turn on my P4 Pro it connects to the controller automatically. There are no defaults set and I haven't found any way to set a default app. Anyone have ideas?

There must have been an update because I tried followed this and now when trying to install pix4d and Ctrl+DJI in Apkpure I get an error with both apps saying “Your device isn’t compatible with this app” and after I still proceed to download it at the end after it downloads it says “Installation failed.”

you can check the following things:
1)what version of the drone do you have? The phantom 4 V2+ version does not allow the use of third-party apps
2)is access to install apps from unknown sources enabled in the controller settings?

Daniel Grigolo , Install Google services a little more complicated. You need to get root using kingo root.apk, then download flashfire.apk and use it to flash picogapps.zip from the opengapps site. After that it will be necessary to download deviceid.apk find in thit apk line with name "google service framework" and enter it on the site www.google.com/android/uncertified/
After that Google services will work and you can download applications with the play market.

try installing the link2SD application on your controller and supersu v2.79. then run link2SD and in it select superSU and click "make the application system" After that run superSu and click update binary files. Then the controller will restart and you can use flashfire
Hi Bohdan! I installed Google play store and play services, but i can not open Google play store. It keeps showing a message "Checking info..." on a white screen and pops up a window saying "Unfortunately Google play services has stopped", frequently. Do you know what can i do to solve these 2 problems? I tried to uninstall current version and install older versions, but did not work. It kept behaving as same as before. Thanks!
To install play services, you need to delete Facebook, Instagram and another app( to have more free space in system storage).
Next step is to install root service. To get root I usually use kingoo root on PC.
After rooting you need to flash pico gapps (you can download it from opengapps.com). For flashing you need to use PC and ADB interface.

Okay, I got it installed, but it won't connect to the aircraft ... P4P+ Obsidian. I did the cable thing, selected Litchi, but when I fire up the remote, DJI Go comes up as normal. I force it off, select Litchi and it comes up, allows me to move the camera, but says its disconnected and the screen is black. Almost like it is partially connected. Any ideas?

can you open your app list on your controller and delete default settings for dji go and litchi app? I think that you have set dji go like default app for debugging and now it all time start avtomaticaly

I was able to connect the Lithi with the DJI Phantom 4 Pro Plus V2.0. after connecting the USB port to MicroUSB in the blind, I clicked on "connect USB storage" or something like that. True, when the ports are closed, there are no missions made at home in the saved ones. If you disconnect from MicroUSB, then appear, but there is no longer communication with the drone. Then he sort of disconnected and the connection with the drone did not disappear, but all this is somehow unreliable. Drone crash can occur due to all these interferences.
Try it with Pix4dcapture, I could not install it, it says something is wrong with the package.

You need to uninstall a couple of built-in apps first from your controller, such as Facebook, Instagram, UA-cam etc..

Иван К , привет, это безопасно, так как по сути ты соединяешь выход юсб-папа пульта на юзб-мама экрана на Андроиде. Никаких глюков не замечено, я оставлял так на постоянной основе и все отлично работало

It seems to me that method that I showed here is not worked on phantom pro+ V2 controller. You probably need to buy controller without imbuilded screen for using pix4d or litchi

I could not start the dronedeploy on this controller, all the time I got just a white screen. For the last time I use Maviс 2 Pro with a "3Dsurvey Pilot"app. I like it more than pix4d or dronedeploy, maybe you want to try it too.

U need to plug usb cable between both of usb-port on the back side of the controller. And next on the screen of the controller select what application you want to use for usb debugging (pix4d).

К большому сожалению в версии 2.0 такая функция не работает. Установил Pix4d, Ctrl+Dji, Litchi, во всех программах нет соединения пульта с квадрокоптером. Установил DJI Pilot, а данная программа даже не запускается. Согласно комментариям на англоязычных форумах, данной функции в версии 2.0 нет, и неизвестно появится или нет, скорее всего нет. Версия 2.0 работает только в ручном режиме. Абсолютно бесполезная вещь для топосъемок, только снимать видео и делать фото.

I have captured this video 2 years ago and don't remember exactly, but if I remember correctly, you can delete Instagram and Facebook app from controller to get more free space.

Привет, что бы установить гугл сервисы нужно сначала поставить root права с помощью kingoRoot с компьютера (инструкции и как делать есть в интернете). После того как поставил рут права, удаляешь встроенные приложения facebook? instagram и т.д. с помощью прогрмы типа Root Uninstaller. После того как почистишь системную память пульта, нужно установить flashfire.apk на пульт и с помощью него прошить zip архив с гуглсервисами.

@@user-br7ln8mp3m насчёт автозапуска личи. При подключении usb шнура в оба отверстия ссади пульта вылазит окошко с выбором программы для отладки. Там можно выбрать litchi и указать выбирать всегда. Но это не повлияет на запуск djigo при старте пульта. It seems that this method does not work with the phantom 4 pro + v2 controller. I will update the video if I find a solution to this problem. I strongly recommend not buying phantom 4 + v2 at this time.

Hi there. I tried installing it but got Message that App is not authorized by DJI. I the. Downgraded to Version 1.1.1.1 and now I get Error that Storage is full and therefore can not update. Any hints on that? Does the USB Cable need to be connecten on the two ports at the bsck for install? Thanks Sven
