I'm a WoW refugee who decided to play FFXIV. I've seen alot of videos of players getting teleported into GM Jail without any warning. Guess the GMs here don't take any BS from players.
@eDead It sort of depends on what you want to do. I am a competitive player; I don't RP or anything, so having challenging content is great. But if you're more casual and don't really do any in-game content but just sort of sit around n a main city then you won't have a lot to do. I'm not sure about RP in WOW, but it has a healthy community for the Alliance side. The story in WOW isn't all that impressive unfortunately, it's gone downhill.
Lol it's not like you told someone to "kys", I assume it's just some inside joke between friends. And someone had to seriously get offended by 3 letters and report you for it....I envy those who used the internet before people got so sensitive, must've been nice.
One of the many reasons I don't play FFXIV anymore. And no, I have never been in GM jail. But the game's heavy-handed moderation is just a constant threat that clouds every interaction you have with other people. I'd rather just be free of it.
This is the stupidest thing I have seen all day. Been playing for years and had all types of interactions and havent been sent to gm jail, now granted most of the interactions have been through a discord vc so they arent tracked but still. All games have rules so with your logic your better off just only playing single player games lmao
Dude, just don’t insult people. It’s really simple. Imagine thinking that keeping an environment as nontoxic as possible a bad thing. But I’m glad you don’t play. It’s obvious you would be awful to deal with.
It's a well-known abbreviation for prompting someone to un-alive themselves. Let's hope little Timmy didn't endure a day of severe bullying at school to have a chance to log into the only game that provides him a shred of happiness in life, only to see the FC tag giving him only more negative thoughts.
@@howlpendragon9728 Since when does seeing those three letters outside of the context of a conversation constitute such a thing in the first place? I sincerely doubt some kid is gonna come home from a shitty day at school, see that, and off himself. If he does, that is NOT the fault of the individual that made the tag, but the fault of the environment the kid is in, the failure of the parents and the teachers that are supposed to protect him from such things and instill a sense of self esteem into the poor kid.
@@mdbgamer556 It's not as bad as it being said directly to an individual, sure. But it's rather about planting the idea in someone's head. It as simple as them seeing it, and thinking "I should." If you've been there, you would know. Would you walk around in real life holding a sign above your head saying "kys"? No. You're right that the environment matters more so the individual wouldn't be so prone to being influenced by the message, but still, there are things that we CAN change(not using "kys" as a tag), and things we can't realistically change(the theoretic individual having a hard time). That's the main reason why the GMs will attempt to remove the message from the game as quickly as possible, because it's advertising and promoting something dreadfully negative.
What's with all these people defending/supporting your choice to have "kys" as your FC tag in the comments? xD That's very wrong to have as a tag and you know it is. I have no idea lol, never liked the tag was a friend's suggestion so I was like ha funny we will say it means "keep yourself safe" then I forgot to change it back so oopsie gm jail, good thing they caught me, Tho that was around the time where i barley on the game same as my fc member and a few days beforehand my ex friend got his friends to report me when he was in the wrong so good thing they did that before i had the tag for longer. Anyways im not disagreeing with saying it was bad having that as my tag cause i agree its a horrible thing to say. The moderators are crazy tho for going straight after me with a tag where as for weeks people where cheating in the fall guys event with plugins and nothing happened to them
I will say it's a rather immature tag, but there's been FAR worse in far cleaner games. Openly nsfw and immature tags and names have been a constant in the gaming community, even if it's not something I've approved of, it's still something that's been a part of every community ever.
8 months later and I agree with you. Not knowing what "kys" means is... hard to believe. For someone who tried to do exactly that a few years back, it is these 3 words, that can break someone fairly easy if the context is set right.
rest in peace grey you will be missed
Someone had to of reported the FC name. A GM isn't going to come out of no where for a FC name. Randomly at that.
