We are filipinos and we're living in Myanmar for many years before the civil war started most of our videos is in Myanmar we love Myanmar we have lots of local friends there and we missed them so much.
One of the best places I've visited.. had goosebumps while driving around the ancient temples and artworks. It's like going back in time. Indeed a gem of our Southeast Asian civilization.
Aside from the nicest archeological site I've ever seen, Bagan has the best people too. I had an accident here from an ebike upon hitting a cow. I couldn't move and if this happened somewhere I would have been robbed or worst. The local saved me, brought me to the hospital and returned the ebike with all of my things.
I hope the situation in Myanmar tapers off soon. This is an amazing country with so much rich history and culture, so beautiful people. I will definitely visit Myanmar one day before i die. Love from Northeast India, your neighbor.
I recently visited Bagan in October 2019. I love it at first sight and the mystic that surrounds its rich history was captivating. I was blown away by the 3000 brick coloured pagodas, stupas and temples that dot the vast plains of Bagan. It’s clearly a gem and an underrated venue. My favourite temple is the milky white Ananda Temple which has one of the most beautiful, complex and intricate architecture and design. I’ll be sure to visit Bagan again for a panoramic view of it from a hot-air balloon which costs about $300 usd for an hour trip.
I was here around 5 years ago and I can honestly say that this is one of the most magical places that I've been to. It feels like being transported to a different time where you can see the pagodas, climb atop (if permitted), catch a glimpse of the sunrise or sunset or just simply take in the panoramic view of the city.
Thank you thank you I am spending all my free time watching all the documentaries related to Myanmar. I am just so happy to see everything you show us here that I probably will never see in real life.
I pride myself on being a Myanmar citizen and "Bagan" is always in my heart. We also thank you for the presentation and sharing the great histories, traditions, and cultures of my golden land country. By the way, I really wanna see you with Myanmar traditional costume in this video-cast and I believe that you will more good-looking and attractive. We warmly invite you all to visit MYANMAR ❤❤❤
I have been there 10 times now and have seen its moving through time since 1983. It is for me as Western Buddhist a fantastic, inspiring and uplifting place. It enhances my aspiration every time I visit the Golden Land. This is a very nice documentary showing its true potential and greatness, and how the great Anawrahta managed to unite the different peoples of his time. He blended the Mon culture from Thaton with his own and the Pyu, making the Buddha's Teaching to perform wholesome deeds, to avoid unwholesome deeds and to purify the mind (through meditation) the corner stone of a true nation.

As someone from Bagan, it's amazing to see it getting international attention and recognition. Tourism is helping the people of Bagan greatly and giving job opportunities to many.
CNA has done a good job of outlining and chronicling the story. I wouldn't know anything without a fine interpretation and excellent visualisation of how it progressed through the timeline.
Love your country Mayanmars and don't let foreign invasions happen in your country. You inow what I mean. And ... only true native Bagan could tell the true story. I don't want to sound like anti of all sorts, but knowing those in charge with these story telling , I feel a bit of disbelief and a little bit of fear what might happen next. Love your country and protect your country from invaders. Godbless you Mayanmar.
Bagan, Majapahit, Angkorwat, Ayuthaya, Prambanan and My Son (Vietnam) like so many are precious gifts of art, culture and history given to South East Asia by Indian culture (Hindu and Buddha).

We visited Bagan in February 2020. Almost canceled the trip because of the COVID19 breakout in China and I’m glad we didn’t. As I contemplate not being able to travel until a vaccine becomes available, I cherish my memories of this extraordinary place. I’d go back in a heartbeat. BTW: I can’t say anything about the other hot air balloon companies, but I definitely recommend Balloons Over Bagan, the one featured in this film.
Thank you so much for creating such a meaningful documentary. With your new perspective and presentation even for ordinary local Burmese it is an eye opener. I do believe such documentary deserve certain awards or recognization.

Mr.Lee, I really enjoy this fantastic documentary. Please make more episodes of 1st kingdom of Myanmar, plus 2nd and 3rd. But please make translations of locals more accurate to touch the essence e.g. in the case of monk telling about monk's duty. He said "you need to keep your mind with cautiousness on good deeds not to let it go into bad thinking speaking or doing. In this way, you need to practise this all the time."

The name "Bagan" comes from the name ''Pyu garma''.Pyu is Pyu people and garma is pali word that means village. So bagan means the village of pyu people and the city of Pyu people.
Yes totally agree. In ancient stone plate, "Pyu" is written in "Pu" “ပု" instead of “Pyu” "ပ်ဴ". That is the reason Bagan is called "Pu Gar Ma" "ပ်ဴရြာ", "village of Pyu people". Pu Gar Ma finally become "Pagan".

It feels like being transported to a different time where you can see the pagodas, climb atop (if permitted), catch a glimpse of the sunrise or sunset or just simply take in the panoramic view of the city.
Hope u come back again.
We are always welcoming u 🥰
hein htet I would love too! Hopefully, after this pandemic I can go back. 😊

Love for Myanmar from India ❤
Visited Myanmar in 2005, Bagan was absolutely awesome. I wish the people of Myanmar peace.

I think Bagan empire was overthrown by South Indian rulers in the 13th century....
China is there to conquer....
Bagan, Majapahit, Angkorwat, Ayuthaya, Prambanan and My Son (Vietnam) like so many are precious gifts of art, culture and history given to South East Asia by Indian culture (Hindu and Buddha).
A perfect presentation about Bagan, the heart of Myanmar. Being proud as a Burmese. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks Mr.lee
Wonderful and great place to visit Bagan. Thank you.
I was born in Yangon. I honestly have no idea of this elephant dance until today😯. In Yangon, we don’t really see such traditional stuffs, at least not that I know of.
Loving this series. 💕
Bagan had been a Buddhist cultural center but what blessing has it brought to her nation and the world?
It helped spread the Theravada Buddhism all over mainland South East Asia - was it not enough?
thanks Peter Lee & your all member. I Love Bagan.

A very comprehensive documentary to revitalize the ancient Buddhism glamor in this present chaotic territory.
@@darlitinoo4458 yet. At that time. they meaned that Gar ma is the city and also the capital.
Thx for the info :)
