What was he in jail for?
@@giancarlocarattini4985 when he was 13/14yo he replicated the pattern of sexual abuse with a relative (if I'm not mistaken a sister of his, he's an adoptive child and other siblings are too. The victim was 3 years younger than him. He explains that he didn't understand that he was doing something wrong, but he was charged and he he went to juvi to complete his sentence.
What's ironic is that his brother, older than him, who raped him repeatedly during 5 years, who the parents knew he was being abused, did nothing nor pressed charges against the older brother that abused him, physical, sexual and emotionally. His brother even shot at him with a firearm that was at home.
His brother, who terrorized him and other kids is free and without his records stained, but David committed the offence being young and naive, it didn't happen repeatedly like what his brother did to him, but now David us the one registered as a sex offender.
See the way he speaks...He's still just that little boy inside, his growth was stunted by all the trauma and drugs

I have an adopted cousin who was raped by her birth mother’s pimp when she was five. She has struggled all her life too. She’s not as bad as David because she has our family, but she’s a recovering cutter too. She’s also had issues with caring for her own child because of her mental health issues caused by her rape. She’s doing better though as she’s gotten older.

Man I know that feeling and it sucks. I think alot of people can relate to that. I've never actually thought about it like that, but that really perfectly describes way too many years of my adult life.

As someone who has ADHD, it’s how I feel a lot of the time. It makes me feel agitated and can’t settle which stresses me out. It’s like having anxiety but not about anything specific. I always tell people I feel like/know I there’s something I need to do but I don’t know what it is. The way David worded it is exactly how it feels. ♥️ also people with adhd can find themselves more easily addicted to things than the average person.
@@missdixydYes I just read that yesterday with people who are ADHD. I think I’m ADD my son is and I have all the same symptoms and it makes so much sense with school and life struggles. I’m on the methadone program.
The fact that this guy reached out to Mark....and that Mark took him in, they both saved his life today. I wish I could give more...

The free help there is for mental health is a fucking joke, they donr have enough resources, i kno so many people struggling and can barely get places to pick up a phone let alone do anything about it...especially with state insurance, youre basically fucked
@@vonderloo3184 they don't help you navigate the system, speaking from direct experience. It's a nice thought so you don't think it's awful that nobody else really helps.

I pray for David to get the help he needs, allows Jesus to heal and help him. I pray someone guides David to a home church with a Kingdom pastor filled with loving Christians to surround him and help him, guide him support him and just love him. Did I miss something, he was the abuser, he raped his ten year old sister when he was sixteen, what sympathy does he deserve?

Mark, one thing I have noticed is that David really likes when you speak to him. I know people who are in bad positions and they have a lot of bad thoughts. To come around someone who thinks differently is all he needs. Just go on for 15 mins and let him listen. It's the only time when his mind is at ease. Listening.

David is desperation personified in this video. He doesn’t want to die. That suicide call to Mark was his last straw. The only current pipeline to help that he thought would come through, and Mark is right there, giving out that firm but compassionate kindness. Lord have Mercy on David🙏🏽🙏🏽

Boy David’s struggles and life make me very emotional. How honest and childlike he is is so heartbreaking because he’s never been able to be a child or an adult he’s just been surviving. I really hope he’s able to get the help he needs. David you deserve the very best.
That is a very good point. I never stopped to think that he never received an honest opportunity to enjoy and explore any phase of his life. You have it right. He's just surviving. Never stopping at any point in time. It's very sad.

The fact that David reached out to Mark is a great step. I'm crying for this hurt little boy in this strong mans body. I pray he can get the help he needs and deserves. Mark im so happy u give ppl a way to reach u when they are struggling, if it weren't for u letting him talk about his feelings he may of gone thru with suicide. Pray he gets his meds and this world being messed up from Covid can find a way to put itself together like come on people work we need workers so bad. Sadly he died a couple of weeks ago. Take care of yourself. I'd lose my arm to be your age. 37 is a kid to me. Use your years wisely.
He so needs a good therapist, he is ready to work through this. He has a sweet soul, he's just been hurt from the beginning. I wish for only good people to fill up your world from now on, David.

I am broken when I see David. I can't imagine that the system would leave him without medication and without any psychological help. I have studied long and hard to ease mental pain and understand it, not to look on helplessly at people like David. A structure must be created to welcome people who need help and have a regular and reliable follow-up.

He needs to be admitted on a psych hold asap. He is a danger to himself and others.
@@rlms56 can Mark take him to the hospital ? He probably has schizophrenia or some type of psychotic illness. He needs his shot of anti psychotic medication. There are new long acting medications that last about a month. That’s why he needs emergency psych help. He IS using lots of drugs. Suboxone is an opiate that has a bad withdrawal. It is hard to stop.

Man this just broke my heart. He seems like a very kind soul that is lost but he can be found. I can totally relate to what he's saying because I've got a cousin who has mental-health issues and is on state-funded care and she sees a different doctor every time, different psychiatrist every time, different social worker every time and shit falls through the cracks all the time. The system is messed up to start with and it's overburdened. I think it's amazing he reached out to Mark and that speaks volumes about him wanting to get help and wanting to get better. I wish David nothing but the best because he absolutely deserves that.

What the community should be taking care of. In the past, people relied on churches, family, connections they made in life. Now days, those things are held in such low regard, this type of situation is rampant. Disintegration of society.

He has no team. It's only Mark.
Praying someone shares the Gospel of Christ with him and that he would receive God’s grace unto salvation. Being born again in Spirit and Truth is the way forward. With man it is not possible. With God, all things are possible.
Yes, he needs healing. Jesus understands what it means to be abused when you've done nothing to deserve it. He cares. But trauma makes it really really really hard to believe that we are actually loved, especially why a perfect God would care for us.
I truly believe David will be saved regardless. But he clearly has a purpose in this life, so it is better if he gets saved sooner rather than later (not to mention he's suffering and doesn't deserve all this pain!). Think about it though, seriously, he has survived so many suicide attempts and near-death experiences from the time he was 3 yrs old to now in his 40s. Lord please don't delay. Let this man discover the meaning of his experiences and the value of his life without having to die first.
I have a sweet friend with schizophrenia who also takes the monthly shot for treatment. She told me the voices start even when it is getting close to her next dose. That tells me how much they keep these people right on the edge as it is. He needed his medication days ago. This is so upsetting.

Hello there , I have a friend who is diagnosed with schizophrenia too, and he is a male . He has his treatment in psych every 2 months and he has his medication prescribed by doc … he tried to unalive himself 3 years ago .. I wish I could help him to feel a lot more better . Do u have any ways that I could make my friend mental state a lot more improved ? Now we both meet each other weekly and has consistent communication. Whenever we meet he laughs hard and has always something to talk about with me and I’m so happy to see him smiling … but I wonder if he is okay inside … please give me thoughts on how I could help my friend improved ❤

@@nurfarzanaabdullah58we might not ever know because ppl will hide their feelings. I’ve had a friend who unalived himself in 2008 on his birthday. We never would have guessed. Please pray for your friend, this is a spiritual warfare. I prayed for my friend’s son who is on the streets and she hadn’t seen him in weeks. When a group of us prayed for him in the name of Jesus, he returned to his mom’s house 2 days later. It is definitely an ongoing battle. He did say that the devil told him that he was lucky to have so many ppl pray for him. There is power in the name of Jesus. Please talk to your friend to ask if everything is actually ok with them, let them know that you are there for them and loved. Please keep faith that is what helps the most.

David has touched so many hearts - I hope that he can see these comments and how much so many people want him to find a way out of his pain. He is such a gentle, sensitive, intelligent, handsome man, he has so much going for him but his pain is clouding all of that.

This interview in particular Marks enduring threshold for seeing people in this condition, reminds me of a former photo journalist by the name of Kevin Carter. He photographed some of the most horrific acts of human hatred in South Africa during apartheid. He eventually became so overwhelmed and depressed by memories of those events and things he saw that he committed suicide. I just commend Mark for pursuing his passion and maintaining his own mental health and well being. Thank you Mark for being a source of hope and light for so many!

Today i have watched David's first episode. It broke my heart so bad that i cried the whole time and after watching the video. And the way he was weeping while describing his childhood. I prayed and prayed for him. I found out that there is a follow up video too. My heart never ever felt broken for a child so much as today hearing David's painful childhood experiences. No child in this world should go through such treatments. He still looks like a child, that innocence in his speech, and looks.. It just kills me. I hope he finds someone who loves him and make his life beautiful. I pray for him.

I know that you probably see that there arent many people helping in the ways that these people truly need, but the sad truth is you will not be able to have a big enough impact this way, and I'm afraid you are going to have an increasing sense of responsibility on your shoulders and it will be an endless cycle. Be careful and have a good plan in place for yourself
since last year i've been experiencing mild auditory hallucinations due to sleeping issues and let me tell you man, you have no idea how awful this shit is until you live it yourself. i had no idea how awful it could be until i started having it myself. and honestly even after this whole year having to deal with it i couldn't even fucking imagine what david is going through cause the shit he gets makes my shit sound nice.
i really hope david can find the support he needs in order to overcome all of this. we ain't born alone into this world, we ain't alone when we're being broken, and we sure as hell ain't alone when fighting to get better. my best wishes to you man.
I just found this channel. I'm giving my last 5 dollars. I wrote what I needed to on the last interview and we are all behind you. Keep your head up David. I think possibly using your boxing could be one of your goals to turn the demons into good.
I’ve worked with sexual assault survivors for a couple decades. The correlation between male survivors and suicidality is incredibly high.
The ways that sex abusers break people is….uncontainable.
In my opinion, the abusers should be put to death. In the electric chair.
Of course, big prayers for David for healing. But, Mark...you saved this man's life today, at least for today. No doubt. I know your beliefs, but I still pray for you that God may bless you, keep you and give you the strength you need to continue to care for the people you help. You seem to be the only one they have. I know how hard it is to take on others burdens. But, you are making a difference in this world.

Despite everything he's been through and the conditions of his life, he is still so gentle and good just as he always was at his core before all the difficult and terrible things (including the death of his daughter) happened .so much agony and suffering .....I hope he'll find the help he needs .

He explained all of this in detail last time.
I don't think he forgot, as much as he was prompting him to fill in the blanks for those who didn't know. It wasn't done in the best way, but I don't think it was malicious at all.

I hope the best for this man. Shows how ignorant I am… my jaw dropped when he said 1200 a week. How in the world can people in his position afford that?! I know peoples funds get tight around the holidays but I have some people I plan to talk to about donating to this instead of gift giving this year.
Therapy doesnt cost that much a week. MAYBE 1200 a month if you go every week and have and expensive therapist, but a week... Never heard of that. He also said he would be going every day, maybe hes talling about in patient help.
Therapy isn’t 1200 a week. Maybe inpatient rehab is that but they aren’t letting you in unless you can pay. A therapist is $200 an hour. And a psychiatrist you see once a month. But regular therapy people see twice a week and it’s $200 an hour tops

David's makes me want to cry man. I look at him and I see my daddy god rest his soul. David and my dad are very similar and have had similar lives. Trauma, and experiences. I wish I had the money to get him off skid row and help him get better. At the same time it would make me feel like I'm helping a piece of my dad. I hope you tell him Mark, tell him just how many people care if he lives or dies.
