Akala doesn't lie about his achievements , he's been to schools all over the world. I even met him at my secondary school (High school) and I was in a school for the naughty kids of my city, we only had 30 students and he took his whole day to chill with us, he's a real one.
There's a video on UA-cam of him rapping to a class if I remember rightly it's his first fire in the booth that he does. Wish he'd came to my school back in the day
Aye that's boss glad you got to connect with a king who wants you to find you're a king inside big up from aus
Akala has addressed both Oxford and Cambridge Student Union's, published writer with a Doctorate BBC Newsnight this man strides the Universities of the UK like a Collasus "Murders syllables strangles sentences"
Did you lads listen to Akala though?
His work to take kids off the track they are on is highly respected.
I tell my kids and youngers not do do what we done.
Was a football hooligan in the 89/90s until I joined the army.
Now run a company.
It's our responsibility to educate those on a bad path. Looking back I had been an arse. Happy if I change as many kids lives as Akala
Same i was in a pupil referral unit and he came and did a workshop with us about literature he really changed the trajectory of my life.
The man literally is one of the globes leading voices on Shakespeare. He’s a regular panellist on national political debates. He lectures PHD students in the most prestigious universities yet can still drop 10 minutes of greeze on multiple beats with multiple flows
You should take a look at his Oxford Lecture bro, he was lecturing for professors about African history in a hoodie..:) Great reaction (as always), I knew you'll love this one..
Guys brain is built different. Eye opener
Brother this is the best breakdown I've heard of this
Akala should be heard by all people. Real history and lessons wrapped in incredible bars and cadences.
Doesn’t say what he doesn’t know. But he knows a lot. So much knowledge and truths
Ive listened to hundreds of uk rap reactions from Americans . This bro is the number one best ever reaction .
Yeah usually the accent is usually too hard for them to understand if all fully. But Kso seems to catch it all
Definitely
Akala is straight up honest about all his achievements!
The spoken word are the end is beautiful - no other way to describe it. I straight up had tears in my eyes by the end of it the first time I heard it. It still does it to me if I'm already feeling some way about something else.
His historical knowledge is so detailed. He talks about being from thrown from the deck of Zong, which was a slave ship on which over 100 enslaved Africans were massacred. This is not mentioned in regular UK schools. The only reason I recognised the reference was because I had a Jamaican next door neighbour in the 90s who told me all about what my ancestors did to his. But he didn't blame me or hate me for it. He was just letting me know that I hadn't been told the full story. He was a cool old guy, much loved by the whole community, regardless of ethnicity.
Chester P, Mic Righteous, Akala, Lowkey - the top tier, peerless lyricists in the UK. All have different strengths and depending on my mood, each of one can be my favourite. All I can say is Chester P is the one who is the most slept on, but ask any UK lyrical rapper and they will cite him as one of the GOATs. He came before all the rest on the above list and laid the groundwork in his band Task Force for them. He may not be your thing but please just listen to one of his tracks from the following: The Authorship, The Wickerman Theory or Fire In The Streets. He comes from one of the worst council estates (projects but with the poor of all colours) in the UK so has had it hard, he's the least fake and humblest guys but came up in battle rap getting booed because he was white when there were no white rappers in the UK back in the 90s. If you give him a listen, I think you will be more than pleasantly surprised.
It's so refreshing to see real reactions from someone who actually has a deep knowledge of hip-hop, respect Big Dippa 🤙🏼 By far my favourite reaction you've done, you matched akala's masterpiece with your reaction my guy
💯
Faxxxxx
29:00 in. His reaction should be a gif / or meme or what ever. Love it.
@KSOBIGDIPPER Thank you for such a genuinely heart felt reaction ❤❤❤
You can spend years researching and looking through what Akala has done. He’s a true philosopher of our time
The last part always brings tears to my eyes KSO 😂 we’re with you 😂
Akala strived to be where he is. His sister is Ms Dynamite she went mainstream when she dropped "it takes more" and won awards for it when he was trying to get in the business. Most people would have just jumped on a track with their award winning sister but he wanted to get in off his own achievements so he didn't do a track with her until he had made himself known in his own right, he didn't even really let anyone know she was his sister until he'd broken in on his own merit.
Listen mate..this is by far the best analysis and reaction to our boy akala by a country mile.
I'm a old school head. Grew up with early 80s rap. Like rammezelle and cold crush, I saw schooly d live, mantronix live just ice live, the goddam beastie boys live.
Alaka should be played to ever guy my age, just for education purposes.
Brilliant reaction my friend..
Much love from the UK .😎🤟🙏
The greatest FITB ever, Akala is the goat.
Untouchable levels 💯
So good to see a reaction from someone who understands everything Akala is saying
Respect bro. Don't usually like reactions, because they don't actually react or comment, but I really enjoyed your breakdowns. Very authentic 👍
What you describe as, "a bottle with a rag in it and you light the rag and throw it", isn't Napalm. That's called a Molotov Cocktail. Napalm was dropped from planes as a substance that ignited and burned on contact! Trees, forests, ..HUMAN FLESH!!!
Will always remember the kid running in the photo
@@scorpionformula One of the most famous photographs of the 20th century.
This may be blocked but a Molotov with crushed polystyrene packing in it is...I'm a pacifist btw, I have that Vive le Rock t-shirt from the 7Os, only reason I know that. Peace everyone...x
Mollys are mainly useful to stop police vans ect
@@northleedspoppa They were used extensively against hostile police during The 1981 Brixton Riots in London.
Let’s go!! Been waiting for this masterpiece
As someone mentioned, Akala's lectured at Oxford University on African history and the black diaspora as a whole. He's also done a TEDx talk on hip-hop and it's lyrical routes.
I used to go raving with his dad. Akala. What an intelligent, talented young man.
Wish you didn't skip him talking about the second piece you would have understood the context better. You need to react to his Oxford lecture, his discussion on use of the n word and read his book Natives
Yea I was gutted he skipped that
Yeah, thought the same.
Would have given a much better context,
Thank you Kso, your breakdown and reaction to this masterpiece was enjoyable and appreciated. Shout out to the UK, much love to all from New Zealand.
I've seen many reaction videos to Akala FITB part 4. This is by far the best ever, granted it was longer than most, but your appreciation for all his lyrical content was second to none. Great reaction video!
I've watched this FITB countless times, I've seen a metric fuck ton of reactions to it, but this is by far the best and most honest one yet!
Mic Righteous, Akala, Low Key, Wretch32, Giggs, Ghetts and my favourite Bugsy Malone FITB are all amazing.
You’ve got nearly 60K subs
You’re in a league of your own KSO!!!
Top top reactor
i think he is a certified top mathematician in the UK by high standards that are next level. thats a degree if we talking degrees
You're a legend in my books for going in-depth on the Grandfather Akala, I consider him one of my elders, he bestows knowledge.
I beeen waiting for this one!! When i seen the length of the video i already knew it was gonna be a maaad one! 🔥🔥 only just tuned in so will give more feedback once ive watched! 👌🏼👌🏼 lets go!
Your passion & being so proudly yourself in your love of great art is inspiring to me brother
I’m dropping everything I am doing to watch this RIGHT NOW!
LETS GO!
*shame you didn’t listen to the intro of his spoken word, would have given you a better context of the piece, but you still caught the theme.
Fire Fire Fire,
He is a scholar and has given lectures at Oxford and Cambridge, he has also participated in many political debates and also consulted at times for his thoughts / opinions on so many subjects. The guy is the epitome of righteousness yet can be so relatable on so many levels to so many people. He truly is a hip hop unicorn
Been waiting for you to do this fire in the booth for ages. It's utter madness
"if I could create a rapper it would be this" 👏🏻👏🏻
I thought I'd seen all the Akala reactions years ago, and in truth I originally found this channel when I was looking for Pete & Bas. But I have to say this is one of the best reactions, breakdowns, and reviews I've seen of part 4. Barely a bar that was missed, or underappreciated. Well worth the full 51 minutes
Oh man i'm so Glad King KSO got round to this one, one of the best fire in the booths of all time, we need so Big Heath soon!!!!!
P.S reactors see a 18 minute FITB and say "this is long, I'll try not to pause". Then Grandmaster Analyst KSO sees a 18 minute FITB and be breaking it down like a Rocket Scientist reviewing his Peers work. This channel is a gift to Hip Hop.
From the UK and I absolutely love your reactions
I'm so happy and excited right now that I'm bigging you up before I've even watched the reaction !
Oh my days...thank god you've done this one. I can't wait already 45 seconds in and excited already... love from Manchester UK 🇬🇧💖 x keep up the great work and reactions xx
America is not ready for Akala but im glad we have found one that is!
The part he takes from his novel leaves me speechless everytime. No one n i mean no one can touch akala
i read about history everyday and akala put so much history in to that spoken word that it always gives me tear and anyone that doesnt get tears has some deep down problems in the mind.
Lol, 51mins 🤯
🔥🔥🔥 reaction, thanks!
Amazing reaction to the whole series, really enjoyed it. Try his Daily Duppy, you'll love it 💙💙
when you said this is god level rapping i felt that 🙌🏾💯
07:30 facts bro, and I love that it matters to you respect to that!!
Just found you! Man, I love your analysis. Akala is a genius and you wish that tha things he says were the norm. Your reactions had me in hysterics, you are incredibly silly with them in a way I love and then you switched into such a thoughtful analysis. Keep it going man!
I love your reactions, I get educated, entertained and I giggle a lot… “ it’s over Jamal”… 😂 thanks
Been waiting for this one man and it didn't dissapoint. I told you it was his best. Gutted you skipped past the context for the last verse but its all good. You should check out his books mate, he'll I will send you a copy of his book natives of you have somewhere I can send it. He's a great writer. You should 100% check out his daily Duppy as well he's in his "talk your shit" bag for that one. Can't wait to see that as well. Hope your doing well mate!
Same I was sad he skipped forward lol
Shakespeare my guy. You the one to react to it, nobody else gone hear it properly
Love the passion and energy you have watched the whole 51.00 best reactor by far keep grinding big love from uk 🇬🇧 🙏❤
Glad you finally reacted to this, sick reaction, but you missed the bit explaining what the second part was about. Next you need to react to Mic Righteous FITB and check out Ocean Wisdom at some point "Voices in my head" is a good place to start.
Akala = King
I am so satisfied with that reaction that I don't want to go to work now. (5.30 am, UK). Respect, respect, respect, put some on his name. CHILLS
This is what I've been waiting for!
Yessss. Been waiting for that reaction!
I think you may check daily duppy series next once you run thorough the FITBs
Lowkey is another God level MC with hell of a message
I second the Lowkey recommendation 👍
Well done lad. Real recognize real.
You catch more word play than any other Reaction Channel. You speak more truths.
Wish you all the success from the UK.
🔥 reaction Kso 💯 real talk alot of others wouldn't be able to do this one justice.
Natives: Race and Class in the Ruins of Empire by Akala is a great read one of the best books I own.
Few fun facts: 1. ms Dynamite is Akala older sister that blew up back in the day and he refused to stand off the back of her name and chose to grind by his own merit.
2. As well as being an author and lecturer he adapts Shakespeare to teach to kids.
3. He was rejected by his mom's family because of his race and also penalised in school for being to smart for his colour so he was raised through his community both good and gangster ( he discusses it all in that book) yet he overcome all obstacles to be the legend he is 💯
Akala would take the head off any American rapper, Facts!! No one can test him
Everyone watch the full reaction, it was amazing 50 minutes went past so quickly. Thanks for the video Brother
i joined a patreon for the first time ever just to watch you react to this song. did not disappoint
Yeah man Akala is phenomenal. He does lectures all over, he did do one at Oxford University which is on UA-cam would highly recommend. So interesting!
Yes my brother, been waitin for this for time ,akala the man and so is the dipper 👊👊
Akala is unrivalled. Kind of sits in a separate category (literally as he says). Lowkey is of that ilk though... take a look.
Have to do Mic righteous FITBs next if you a fan of this concious rap
For sure , same as Akala 4 legendary ones.
For sure pls i love your reactions mic righteous is a one of a kind, especially 3 and 4 fitbs they hit different
Part 3 and 4
Great reaction bro, ironically you said about Shakespeare he actually got a song called Shakespeare lol
KSO: you hearing him???!?
Jamal: yeaah dont act like i didnt put u on him 😒
😆😆😆
Best reaction 🔥🔥🔥
You really dissect what Akala is saying and break it down.
Seen many reaction videos and some of what UK rapper say can go over Americans heads but you get it all 😲
The cherry on the cake 🍰 of this reaction video was you bringing Jamal on camera and dancing with him 🤗
damn i forgot i was reacting ha ha ha ha ha what a reaction mannn salute
Ok so I stopped work, and dropped everything to listen to this reaction my man 💯🇬🇧 Akala is the greatest 💙
HE'S THE BEST IN THE WORLD 🌍 I HAVE NEVER HEARD ANYONE LIKE HIM. HE BLOWS ME AWAY ☘️🇮🇪💚🇸🇩🍀
The first part of this is the best rapping I've ever heard. I don't care what anyone says.

In a parallel universe KBD just died choking on his own durag 🤣
Killed me that!! 💀💀😂😂😂
My favourite reactor finally getting to the greatest I can't wait to watch this.
Gonna have to comment twice be 4 and after cos it's gonna be fire.
Wouldlove to hear more reactions to his tracks and lowkey
Thanks so much for this series bro
Bro, so happy you on Akala - man's one of our UK GOATs
Yeah man, Akala is everything he says he is. You should react to his Oxford Student Union address - not music, but i promise it's worth the time for you and your subs bro
You should check out his book. It’s called Natives. Half memoir, half commentary on British class structure and race.
really good man, read it front to back during lockdown over a couple days
I’ve got the book and the Audiobook version. Akala himself narrated the Audiobook so it makes it an amazing listen when I’m driving for work.
Yes man! I always look on UA-cam for reactions to his fire in the booths, especially the 4th it's insane start to Finnish, Then at the end you get the beautiful dialogue/rap he made, it's unbelievably captivating & Should be pushed out really far because, it's art for one,It's history, and the way It's delivered by Akala it comes across like Poetry(in The Modern Form)
Akala Is Our Dark Poet
I absolutely love your energy. On the road to 100k 🙌🏻🙌🏻❤️ ....... sorry I just have to say at 28:16 I nearly chocked laughing..... omg 😂😂😂
Been waiting all day to finish work to come home and watch this.Amazing reaction brother 💯👊🏾 please can you do,ENVIRONMENT by Dave from his Psychodrama Album 🔥🔥🔥🙏🏾💯
I too was a bit annoyed you missed the context for the last bit but then I realised it’s actually more interesting that you didn’t know what you were listening to and it still moved you to tears. Shows the power of the art form and how in tune you are with the music.
Great perspective
Akala is special geat reaction and how you got lost in it shows how good Akala is. Go mic righteous next fitb 1 - 4 another show of progression through a series.
Been waiting months for you to do this one! :)
kso you are so much smarter and more fun to listen to than anyone else doing this shit. don't tell jean :)
