There will never the the likes of these men again . We should watch in awe!
I’ve seen Kase dismantle far bigger men and is striking power was awesome . A limb breaking skull smashing power . Defies his size and physical appearance. Anyone who knew him or trained with the ‘Old Man ‘ would miss him for what he brought to Shotokan karate . A total maverick and that’s why I like him . Never a JKA samurai and pure Ronin, but never an outcast . 🥋👊

Mark Walker l never did karate (l study traditional taekwon-do). I've always had respect for other arts and the karate masters. I had seen pictures of Kase sensei back in the 80s in martial art magazines but until now had never seen him in action. As l say l don't do karate but it would appear that among the top masters he had a unique approach to Shotokan. I've never seen any other Shotokan master apply karate quite like Kase sensei. Also in physical build he reminds me of the late Mas Oyama. I wonder if the two ever met?

@@MichaelWilliams-mo1vv probably as Kase trained with Ginchin Funakoshi as did Oyama . I’ve seen Kase as an older man and trained with him in the 1990’s . One of my old instructors the deceased Sensei Steve cattle told me Kase was a different standard altogether and very special . I witnessed a genius at work when he instructed . Sensei Shirai Beas ever present . He was the scariest man I’ve ever seen . Regal in presence and exuded power and grace at the same time .

@@MichaelWilliams-mo1vv They may have trained together in the mid 1940s, but it would have been for a very short time as Oyama only did shotokan for 2 years before going into goju ruy. Interesting to think that the two people who formulated the two major competition rulesets might have actually sparred!

Entonces, muchos saludos! 😃Sin embargo, esta es una (excelente) demostración de técnica, sincronización y distancia, ciertamente no es una pelea real. Debe quedar claro...
