Thank you for your amazing work! Your combination of metal and classical sound are inspiring and unique. As a musician, I find myself influenced by some of the strangest music at times. For example: They Might Be Giants, "Dr. Worm". Ever had songs, which you didn't expect to, influence you?

Mezzo-soprano, but she said she needs to check her range again because she thinks she's soprano now.
Even though one doesn't just "become" a soprano...
Hilary Helena good one! :) obviously if you work hard and you dedicate part of your life to sing, you will progress with your voice. By the way, singers are not only categorized by their vocal range. You have to see the timber they have, and this lady used to have a dark one. Now at days she has a really light timber, I guess she is being trained as a soprano. If she or her vocal coaches decided to work with her as a mezzo, she would sing reaaaally diferent :)
Hilary Helena It's possible in the earlier albums she was using the wrong technique and actually is a soprano, happened to me as well. For over a year I thought I was alto/mezzo, after fixing technical issues it turns out I am a soprano.
Hilary Helena Yeah, I knew that she was considered a mezzo-soprano, but, when she said (from memory), "I think I'm actually a (something) soprano." I didn't hear the word she used. It wouldn't have been mezzo.
Ahh Invisilign, that explains why her mouth looks a little different, also she seems to have less weight on her than even before she was pregnant! Cheek bone city :)

Im a bit disappointed. I asked a really good question on FB, too many people like that question and it was the top one basically. I know there were sooo many questions but, man, I think Simone didnt want to answer my question. Maybe it wasa bit rude but it wasnt my intention, I just wanted to know her opinion...
What was your question then?
I asked her about how she feels about fans comments of her voice. We all know she has been singing for these years really diferent, and as fans, we must be critical, we dont have to be like "ok, even if they play with no motivation Im a fan and thats all". Im not talking about "she is not singing liric anymore" because thats a foolishness, Each singer is unique and has her own way of singing
Im a big fan of her, she is one of my inspiration as a singer, and watching her on shows, singing like "ok, here I am" its something that I dont want obviously. She has an amazing voice, full of posibilities.
You know, everyone has bad days, sometimes you're sick or tired and you have to work, and you will try to give your best. You have to see DYU tour for example, or some shows in RFTI. I remember when they play Avalanche and the hard part of the song for Simone went a little disaster.
The Quantum Enigma seams to have really difficult songs for a singer, so I hope she can handle those songs.

I hope so...as I said, I belive in her, thats something, which is really sad, fans are not use to do, they are like "woh my favourite band!" and thats all.

Disdain Jansen i am sure she is a bit insecure about her voice. There are a lot of hate videos comparing her voice to Laura Macri, Tarja and Floor and her knowing them might make her insecure. It would make me insecure. And i have heard people saying how they like epica but not simone and stuff like that cause of her voice, so im not really sure how she would reply. I think touring tires her out really easily because some shows, she is really energetic and others not so much. If you look at majority of the RFTI shows, she sings really well and is quite energetic. Its only in the DYU tours towards the end where i think she kind of got tired. Their previous tours all shows how energetic she is. I think it was the MRSA or whatever she had held her back

Full Soprano...? Since when? Someone deceived Simone, she's not a soprano. Her high notes are weak. High notes are the strength of the sopranos, not their weakness.
Clearly you haven't listened to the song "Unleashed", at the end she goes real high and it's fucking powerful.
I know every song from Epica. Mezzo sopranos can hit powerfull high notes very often with proper training. And she'd never managed to hit that note properly live.
Give her a break
Listen to the middle section of "Ascension". Also Soprano is not always applied to a Classical context. Soprano is a term used to describe a female singer's vocal range - how high she can sing, what pitch is her highest note. Whether it is weak or strong is irrelevant.
simon has grown so much... to be honest, she doesn't look better...
