- Lesley Marin reports from Long Beach where the city council just passed a new ordinance banning childless adults from city playgrounds. If signed by the mayor, the new ordinance could go into effect as soon as next month.

If you go on Megan's Law website to check out all the local bad guys, you would be SHOCKED at how short their prison sentences are what they do and continue to do... how about we deal with that?
My 19 year old son with autism swings daily at our local park. It is his favorite activity. It provides sensory input, stimulates the vestibular system, and provides moderate exercise. This ordinance is a civil rights violation against adults like my son who benefit from the park equipment.
They will have to make special equipment for your son to be with others like him his age.
This law will protect many children.

As an autistic adult in the area that frequents playgrounds for comfort and decompression reasons, this feels... incredibly misguided. This isn't going to do anything to deter predators anyhow, they don't care about the law or they wouldn't be predators.
Just find another park, hiking trail, etc, it's not just about you dude.
And it's not going to stop homeless people from needing places to sleep, either.
I hope they get their asses sued if they pass this, because making the act of literally just existing in public spaces as an adult illegal feels incredibly wrong.

My guy , they specifically stated “playgrounds”. Other than loitering what is a childless adult doing sitting in the kids play structure , the kids slides or kids swings? Everyone will be welcomed at the park but not the playground for the kids. Maybe two specific adult swings can be installed separately because you know sometimes it’s urgent to just get on a swing at a park. I actually have had to tell my kids to stay with me and not get close to the adults standing by the baby size structure because they were loitering - no kids. As an adult myself at one point I had no kids and not once did I experience the urge at a park to sit at playground structures with random little kids. I guess your right it’s everyone’s preference but, drawing a line so the kids can better enjoy the tax money we invested for them to play freely and safely is a good idea to me.

Why not workout at the workout area , most parks are equipped with those now and days. 🤦♀️ Other than a pull-up at a money bar , I’m sure you can find a way to get them gains without getting inline with the kids to go through the monkey bars or push ups on the line for the slide entrance

I used to go in the later hrs when there were less kids, to do Pull Ups on the Monkey Bars, to get my Back workout when I didn't have time to go to the gym, considering my schedule.
None of the kids were bothered by me, nor the parents.
At times that playground was empty.
Some of the kids and parents where even cool with me.
But, the problem is in smaller parks, where there's workout equipment in the playground.
I had one paranoid lady, when I was trying to figure out which equipment to use.
And did Pull Ups on the Pull Up bars, she still was paranoid. SMH. 🤦♀️

hopkins wilderness park redondo. the parents were out of control. after a bad drive from santa cruz (225 engine head bolt ) the 1 kid went almost unconcious. my tent was gone. hiding cocaine. cops or. like they had a plan. 6 foot. x 2. the 1 at 6 ft kicked me. i could have grabbed it. x 2 with a plan. police showed up.

For example,
1 situation, at a park in upland Ca. Next to an apartment complex on 11th. Its right next to Walmart in upland if you look at satellite images.
Anyway, from our shop, you can see over the wall into parking area at this park.
From the parking area, you can see the children on the playground. One day, while at the shop, a co-worker asked me to look into the parking lot of the park.
When I did, you can see what appeared to be a woman in the passenger seat of her car, door open, leg up masterbating while looking in the direction of children on the playground filled with about 30 kids from a pre school.
I went over to the park and was going to take a pic and call police.
Instead, as I got closer I noticed it was a man dressed as a woman masterbating.
When cops arrived it was found out he was a repeat offender and had a past of assaulting kids

Or hire Security Guards, to interrogate every childless adult stepping in the park or playground and keep an eye on them, and get more surveillance.
You work out at a playground for children? Did you watch the video at all. Did anyone? You're allowed to go to the park but not the playground without a child. It's just an ordinance being revised still before it goes into law.

And I go in the late night hours when there's little to no kids using that equipment to not stand in their way.

I go to playgrounds for comfort reasons as an adult because I'm autistic and they're very relaxing places that make me feel safe because of the memories of them from childhood. There are plenty of adults who enjoy the throwback to childhood playgrounds can bring, disabled or otherwise.

Awesome policy! But some of these counties or states are passing laws to abort newborns or to pass their gender "teachings". There's a hipocresy in what they think it's best for our children, instead of what we want for our kids.
