I keep hearing people say she is boring in interviews but she doesn't seem to elaborate on things very well. Her answers are abrupt and when she talks about Padmavati I don't see her talking alot about the story behind the film. She just mentions what she feels about playing certain scenes. But I haven't seen the film. But her acting already looks amazing. Also I am not satisfied with her answer about the Jauhar scene whether or not the women don't have the right to live. Yes it is a practice of the time but she didn't really answer the question. Why should this be looked at as more humane than rape? Burning alive is a painful horrible way to die. I also think she is stalling and he is giving adequate and insightful questions and she is dancing around the answers. I think she could be more honest on whether Padmavati is a real person and she could be more honest throughout the interview

I‘m so glad she defends the movie and says that she would do it again, bc i felt what she felt while watching the movie and i understand her role and what her intentions were. I‘m glad it got it‘s success and the appreciation it deserves, even though it went through so much, that makes me so happy. This movie is amazing and the story is too. I don‘t understand what the fuss was all about. It‘s celebrating womanhood and bravery & strength in pride and dignity. The last scene wasn‘t to glorify that practice, but to tell what happened in a different time and i understand that in this story, it was necessary, it is sad but that had to happen, bc there was no other way. If they had survived, what would they have done? They couldn’t defend themselves for long, bc their men were outnumbered and slaughtered on the battlefield and they only could hold them off long enough to commit the self-immolation, but not to escape. They died as honorable strong women, who didn‘t want to take shit from anyone and surrender to a barbaric and his army. They would’ve suffered more. They didn‘t want to be enslaved, raped and killed or tortured and live in misery. They felt that the only man that is allowed to touch them is their husband and so that‘s so much dignity in that, bc it is not only saving yourself but also your dignity and honor as a woman and married woman. I love what Deepika said. Padmavati didn‘t need to have a sword and go on the battlefield and she didn‘t need to be so out there, bc Mastani is different than Padmavati. She and her husband Ratan were very composed and demure, bc they were royalty and also very strong minded people. It‘s true that she used her mind and was the warrior in that way, bc in the end Khilji lost what he most wanted and that is the biggest victory to Padmavati. It‘s true that i love that everything in this movie is spoken through their eyes and in silence, than in many words, bc it is an experience and you truly feel everything in this movie.

Sir, Padmavat will not be screened in Gujarat nd other 2 states??? People wants to watch the movie in multiplex nd not on TV. Shouldn't the state govt. Should provide the police protaction and confidence among multiplex owner like in Maharashtra.
Specially I have issue with this interview..it is so boring and a kind of moral science lecture which no one would want to listen, specially from Deepika at this stage. What is her credentials?? There are many more in industry who has done and achieved much more than she would never get. But look at their grace.

Her interview is no where close to being candid. She is fine actor with lots of diplomacy. Why she didn't give such interview before release? Girl if you can slap a guy in the middle of the street then why you didn't speak when karni people were chopping your nose. Watched the movie yesterday.. Liked it very much.. A lot was put into a package of less than 3 hours.. Don't feel like watching the interview though Swara Bhasker needs a fitting reply from u.. All she needs to do is use a little bit of imagination as y death is better than dishonor.. How can anyone judge jauhar from the confines of his/her ac room n blasting 52 inches display panel is beyond me :p
